After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Oh Claire I'm so very sorry - I know how I feel about my cat so my heart goes out to you

SpangleMaker · 11/09/2008 18:40

please excuse lurking, but was wondering how you are all getting on and wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your cat ClairePO We nearly lost ours a few weeks ago and it really made me realise how much she means to us. I really do feel for you

chocciedooby · 16/09/2008 10:40

Just been catching up on MN and wondered if there had been any more BFP's or is this thread dead now????

ClairePO · 16/09/2008 10:42

I think we're all just in the quiet parts of our cycle? I hope the thread isn't dead anyway.

wasabipeanut · 16/09/2008 10:47

Like an idiot I tested this morning - AF due Thursday and got a BFN.

Really down now

At least yesterday I had hope.

chocciedooby · 16/09/2008 10:48

Hi ClairePo. I am on CD6 so BD needs to become a priority soon
DH is away this wkend so I must seduce him on his return and hope for the best. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he BD's willingly without protection!

ClairePO · 16/09/2008 10:51

Wasabi you tested too early, don't give up hope yet. Lets hope she stays away.

Choccie good luck with it, is he still unsure about things?

I'm due Friday or Saturday I think.

chocciedooby · 16/09/2008 10:56

Yes, hang in there Wasabi. Wishing you luck
Yes ClairePo he is still unsure. I have decided to take each month as it comes and hope for the best. I am not badgering him anymore which hopefully will take any pressure off of him for the time being. We concieved out other 2 DC's by accident so maybe we are due 1 more little accident any time soon

CoteDAzur · 17/09/2008 08:24

Hi everyone. Congratulations to everyone. Sorry for having flounced off after BFN two months ago but was bitterly disappointed in negative result as well as myself for having psyched myself up

Last two months I was worrying, obsessing and symptom spotting. This was also the only two cycles in my life when my breasts hurt (so much I had to hold them if going up and down stairs so they wouldn't jiggle - and I'm only a B-cup!).

I am at CD 28 today and determined not to test. Lots of BDing this month but thought I had not ovulated at all as temps remained near 36 C - it is only 2 days ago I realized that the digital thermometer I have been using was faulty. Now I see temp around 37 C so must have ovulated at some point. No sore breasts, possibly because I wasn't stressing about whether I conceived?

ClairePO · 17/09/2008 09:42

Good luck Cote, annoying about thermometer though but at least you know you have ov'd even if you don;t know when.

It's awful when you actually believe it has happened this month and then get BFN/period. When I temped I used to look at fertility friend and see that we had done it at just the right time, using pre-seed etc and think 'in two weeks time I'll have a BFP' and work out when my due date would be etc. Then you're crushed. It's horrible.

Was watching the news last night and on the London news there was a piece about women who decide to have babies without a man - one woman said when she gets to 37/38 and if she is still single she will get a male friend to oblige. I just thought oh you know so little you poor thing, I hope you aren't disappointed The media tell us about how women are fertile later and later now but it isn't the truth and by the time we find out it is too late.

DarrellRivers · 17/09/2008 14:44

Clairepo, so sorry to hear about your cat
Cote, good to see you back (and not good as well because it means we are all the wrong side of a pregnancy test!)
I am back as you can see, my bleeding definitely became heavy bleeding and when it had stopped pregnancy test was back to negative
Am now cycle day 16 and feeling relaxed, (hahaha), whatever will be will be
Interestingly I had no breast tenderness before the bfp, so maybe we should try to tell ourselves the more symptoms we get, the less likely you are to be pregnant
Fingers crossed for you cote.
Wishing everyone good luck, hi wasabipeanut, jools and chocciedoobie

Hi Darryl, am sorry to hear that. You seem to be in a good frame of mind though which is great. Hello to Cote also

Well as I've posted on the CD1 thread I've had some hideous vom bug today so feeling very delicate. No symptoms or sign of AF but being ill could have buggered it all up.

I am getting, erm, stabbing pains in my lady bits which I haven't had since last time round. No idea whether this is meaningful or not!

ClairePO · 17/09/2008 15:10

Darrell so very sorry

wasabi your pains sound an.....erm..... interesting symptom. You testing tomorrow or trying to hold out? I have good feelings about you this month. In an 'I'm not an internet weirdo, honest' sort of way.

dharma · 17/09/2008 17:51

Hi everyone
Darryl - soory to hear your news

Cote - I am feeling the way you felt the past two months - hence have not been on here that much.

doc said to wait til cycle returns before trying again and that's not til end of sep, so am trying to feel good about the fact that I can over indulge in soft cheeses, eggs and alcohol now, but it's not making me feel that much better!

Still I must be making progress as I am on here now!

Wasabi - good luck for tomorrow...

CoteDAzur · 17/09/2008 18:36

Darrell & dharma

Claire - So sorry for your cat I had two and had to find them new homes when I started travelling. So intelligent, so cuddly, so precious. I love cats.

I'm sitting here with a glass of wine (DH just arrived & is playing with DD, so I reckon I have about 15 mins until someone yells for me). Totally convinced I am not pregnant (why? I don't know) although my FF chart is covered with BD crosses from day 11 to day 18. No symptoms, but that doesn't mean anything since I had no symptoms whatsoever when pregnant with DD in the first 8 weeks or so. I was smoking and drinking lots at the time as well, AND went skiing for several days before AF was due DD must have been hanging on for dear life.

wasabipeanut · 18/09/2008 11:56

Oh Claire PO thank you for your positive vibes but I fear they are misplaced - bot some spotting this morning which is how AF starts.

I do still feel pukey but I think thats down to whatever I had yesterday lingering.

Don't know whether to test tomorrow just to be sure or whether that would just waste another test.

I had a feeling it wasn't to be our month. Cote - lol at image of weeny baby clinging on as you zoom down a black run. I guess it proves how resilient they are right from day 1! When I was a few weeks with DS I would glide around like a dalek in case I "dislodged" him

CoteDAzur · 18/09/2008 12:19

LOL @ "glide around like a Dalek"

ClairePO · 18/09/2008 12:52

Sorry it's not looking so good wasabi same here I think spotting has started.

Do like your dalek comment though

CoteDAzur · 18/09/2008 17:37

Well I sit here with a glass of wine, because I am sure of imminent AF, although can see no signs either way.

By the way, have we had any BPPs with happy endings in the last two months? I think I need some good news. Feeling all doom and gloom today. A big sign that AF will be here soon.

ClairePO · 18/09/2008 19:31

Same here Cote, spotting started, glass of wine at my side, roll on cycle 13.

Does anyone know if it is OK to get my CD2 bloods done on CD1? Actually I may start a thread asking.

CoteDAzur · 18/09/2008 19:38

I don't want to steal her thunder, but just to give a boost to everyone's morale - Jools1 just got a BFP!

ClairePO · 18/09/2008 19:40

wooohhooooo well done Jools!!! Massive congratulations

DarrellRivers · 18/09/2008 20:45

What lovely news jools
How do you know cote?

OP posts:
Jools1 · 18/09/2008 21:02

Hi Everyone !

Sorry - got mega excited this afternoon and did post, but unforgivably forgot to post on the first thread on MN that made me welcome

I have been having lots of mild cramping a bit of brownish CM and my nipples had gone hot and tingly a couple of times, so I was hopeful - was going to hold out and test tomorrow at 14DPO but was working from home and couldn't bear to wait, so used a cheap Boots test - ambiguous result.

Thought maybe I'd wait for FMU tomorrow then the free trial Clearblue digi was calling me from the knicker drawer and - BFP !

Am scared aswell as happy now - if all goes OK, I will hopefully be having my first DC 6 months before my 40th birthday.

Lots of luck and sticky babydust to everyone

DarrellRivers · 18/09/2008 22:03

congratulations
great news
and some lovely positivity
lets have lots of babydust all around
