After 18m persuading DH, we are finally (v gently ) TTc no 3.
As I am now 35, am convinced my fertility days are behind me.
Anyone in a similar position and needing to share support?

Well I am still getting really confusing signals this month

AF is due anytime from Tues to Thurs and I've just started (possibly) getting a bit PMT'ish but only a bit - not like the monster I was last month !

My boobs are still vv large and vv sore and have been since 2DPO. They were the same last month when I had a CP. I've been having hot flushes since thursday, along with bouts of dizziness, despite eating well. No hot flushes yet today but I was a little dizzy and REALLY struggled at my normal gym classes - just had no energy.

I can only assume that, if AF does come along, which I fully expect her to do, I must have some sort of virus. Getting very very frustrated though. I did do a sneaky early test yesterday so that I could, if necessary, explain to friends I was spending the day with just why I was feeling dizzy and faint - of course it was BFN. I kinda knew it would be but just wish I knew why I am feeling so odd.

I'm not sure how many 2WW I can cope with - this is only my second and I can think of nothing else - no housework is getting done and if I dont get my finger out at work, I'll be in trouble soon !

SpangleMaker · 17/08/2008 17:41

Jules - I know exactly how you feel! It was v early for a test though, even if you're due on Tuesday. Suggest you summon up all your willpower and try to hang on in there until Thursday. Fingers crossed for you.

I know what you mean about not getting stuff done at home/work. I'm still trying to catch up from my last cycle which was really stressful.

numpty how are you? did AF arrive properly in the end?

I have got a Patrick Holdford book somewhere about vitamins/minerals that are good for fertility. I'll dig it out and post anything interesting that I find.

KiwiKat · 17/08/2008 20:48

Hi Numpty, The Fertility Diet has a whole chapter on sperm care. It recommends bee pollen, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, Horny Goat Weed (Yin-Yang-Huo), something called Ho Shu Wu and Saw Palmetto. Also says to stay away from echinacea, Ginkgo Biloba and St John's Wort. Haven't heard of Ho Shu Wu and Saw Palmetto before.

Lionstar said

'Yes - where is that fast forward button? Even worse the freebie test turned up in the post today and it's staring me down. Must keep repeating 'Do not test until Wednesday, do not test ...''

I can totally identify with that!! Except I'm 'not test until Thursday!

Jools1 · 18/08/2008 08:42

Me too ClairePo - have decided Thursday is the day, but was definitely feeling a bit nauseous on and off this morning, so am not sure how much longer I can hold out before all my "imaginary" symptoms trick me into testing !!

What a damp, dismal day it is in London - need some BFP's to cheer everyone up

beanieb · 18/08/2008 08:45

2DPO but a 'disagreement' with the OH on Saturday night put paid to any practice Did manage it Saturday morning and the 4 days leading up to it but have decided I haven't done enough - AGAIN!

SpangleMaker · 18/08/2008 10:16

beanieb sounds like you did plenty to me I only managed twice this month, a poor effort only worthy of a 'good' not 'high' on the intercourse timing analyser!

I'm consoling myself with the fact it they were after a +ve OPK and seeing EWCM so hopefully well-timed. I'm trying to have a month 'off' anyway after getting way too stressed out last cycle. 7DPO and doing ok so far, but lets see how I get on this week.

SpangleMaker · 18/08/2008 10:19

Jools1 sorry I spelt your name wrong yesterday how crap am I?

It's really dingy in Manchester too but then that's par for the course up here!

sfxmum · 18/08/2008 10:23

hello ladies conception sex so much fun

oh well I hope the job is done
still have 10 days or so to go so not even looking at the sticks

it was raining here this morning which is a pain as it is the only time I can go run, don't fancy it in the rain.

am doing my best to plan things for the next couple of weeks and keep me busy

hope everyone is well

sfxmum · 18/08/2008 10:25

about symptoms I always get nausea and dizziness on the lead up to AF but did not get proper sickness or much nausea on the last successful pregnancy

beanieb · 18/08/2008 10:31

Oh god Spangles - I am totally shagged out TBH.

For some reason we had a very busy and active begining of my cycle and then basically went for it all last week. Saturday morning was the last time and I had my second peak on my monitor on Saturday so here's hoping.

SFXmum how many days past ovulation are you and do you have a fairly short luteal phase like me? I should be able to test some time from next Thursday.

sfxmum · 18/08/2008 10:37

beanie this time I decided to just go on EWCM and averages, my cycle is about 30 days and I think I ovulated on about the 10/11 of Aug but will definitely not test until the 28th if AF does not arrive, don't think LP is that short.

this is my first month back trying since my MC in late November, I don't seem to have a lot of trouble getting pregnant but have had 4 MC, 3 pre dd.

so am taking it easy really want to keep calm
am a bit scared of starting to obsess too much

beanieb · 18/08/2008 10:45

Good luck!
Looks like we may be testing at the same time!

ClairePO · 18/08/2008 16:24

I feel sick. Only in the crazy world of ttc would this be considered a good thing.

Also, I'm 9dpo and my boobs haven't started hurting yet. Normally they start hurting around 7dpo. I'm driving myself nuts here, bloody symptom spotting

Jools1 · 18/08/2008 16:30

hehe - can sympathise with the happy and sick feeling ! I was feeling nauseous as I wandered along Euston Rd this morning and was grinning like a loon !!

CD27, 12DPO - sore, enormous boobs, nausea, dizziness, hot flushes and NO PMT !!!!

ClairePO · 18/08/2008 16:32

That all sounds very promising Jools! Fingers crossed. So if you're testing Thursday you'll be 15dpo?

Jools1 · 18/08/2008 16:56

I'm pretty sure that Thurs will be 15DPO

I woke up with ov pains in the early hours of a Thurs morning, so I guess it will be 14.5DPO !!

My last 5 cycles have been 26 - 28 days, with spotting 2 days before the main event, but nothing so far ....

Whether I can hold out another 2 and a bit days is another matter

chocciedooby · 18/08/2008 21:27

Hi Ladies.Haven't been on this thread for a couple of weeks as my laptop was robbed (long story).Anyway, it was very unfortunate timing as things have been a bit bumpy here and I really wanted to log on.Just as I was nearing ovulation last month (5th cycle) DH announced that he really does not want another baby I have been trying to catch up on previous posts and when I read Jayda's comments my heart went out to her.I am in exactly the same position! If you are there Jayda, hop back on pleeeease.
I have been feeling very very down since DH dropped this bomb shell.I have just about got a handle on my ovulation timing etc and now its all gone on a back burner.I am now on CD6 and can't help thinking forward to CD15 (OV day) and the egg being wasted
I feel devastated as like Jayda, I have 2 dc's but really want 1 more to complete our family before I get too old and the age gaps are too much.
How am I going to convince DH that I will be the happiest woman alive after I have No3?!

Lionstar · 18/08/2008 21:50

Oh chocciedooby what a thing to have to get your head around. Maybe he is just thinking of you if continual cycles are getting you down - is that possible? All I can suggest is to have a very honest heart to heart with DH, then maybe step back a bit and let it sink in?

I'm very glum at the moment, AF arrived on Sunday, totally out of the blue and 3-4 days early. This is the second time it's happened - do you think I'm a candidate for those deficieant luteal thingymies? My cycle used to be around 33 days before DD arrived, now I can't even make it to 28. So is this Agnus Castus stuff the business?

So we move on to the 3rd attempt and already I'm thinking how much of this I can take, and when to call it quits and just make the most of the gorgeous daughter we already have.

Good luck though to all of you still in the 2WW

chocciedooby · 18/08/2008 22:08

Hi Lionstar.Unfortunately DH is not thinking of me being down over cycles and ttc. He simply is happy with the 2 dcs we have and doesn't want any more.I have tried to stay as calm as possible and step back a little but now that I am approaching OV time I know I will find it difficult.
I need to have another honest conversation with him about how I feel but he just hasn't been open to discussion about it.I am scared that it will eat away at me and cause a lot of problems.
I'll keep you posted as to if I manage to coax him into BD around OV time

ClairePO · 18/08/2008 22:28

Choccie I'm very sorry your DH doesn't want another at the moment. It must be heartbreaking but I hope you two can work it out together.

Lionstar sorry she got you how long was your luteal phase? 2 months isn't so long - although I know it feels like it. Fingers crossed cycle 3 will be your lucky cycle.

ClairePO · 19/08/2008 07:46

Wonders if Jools has tested....................

DarrellRivers · 19/08/2008 08:31

Goodmorning everyone.
Chocciedoobie, try to keep positive and play the long game.
My DH is very similar, and he came around eventually, very relucatantly
He feels that it is in the hands of fate now, and that what is meant to be , will be.
I think that's true about TTc, you can try , but it doesn't mean you will succeed
I will however feel content that at least we tried even if we didn't succeed
Fingers crossed
I am 7DPO now and will test next thursday 28th if no period by then
Am sure am not pregnant this time and think will offer to give my sister my cot and maternity clothes if period comes
