Hi

Not really sure what I'm looking for here but if nothing else I'll use this as a diary of my feelings etc. I joined a chat years ago for my first pregnancy and am still friends with some of those lovely ladies so hoping to find some people who are on their TTC journey and we can share experiences l.

As the title suggests I'm 42, I have two beautiful children aged 7 and 9, we decided to try for another baby a year or so again, I needed to lose some weight so did that although I'm still overweight according to my BMI but you know how it is... I'm fairly average at a size 14-16. I still have very regular cycles and don't believe I'm anywhere near the menopause yet....

Anyways, I'm 9dpo I think, I don't do opk or anything like that, tried one month but didn't enjoy feeling obsessed over it and it didn't work anyway..I feel I know my body quite well and am aware of the signs of when I'm ovulating if I am. With our first child it took a good 2 years with one chemical pregnancy in that time before.ewe actually got our baby. With our second child...well we thought about trying and then I was pregnant... Amazing how that happens isn't it!?

So here I am, 9dpo and with virtually no discharge at all. 2 days ago I had a huge amount of white cm that was abit stretchy. I've had a headache on and off and been soooo unbelievably emotional. This isn't normal for me but we are going through quite a bit with our youngest and other normal life events so may be that I suppose. I've had sore breasts and I swear they are bigger if that is even possible!.maybe just very slight cramps over the past couple of days but that maybe only.when I'm thinking about it...

Anyone else at this stage and fancy a buddy to compare notes? I'd love to chat.

Did a quick test at roughly 9-10 dpo as two days of drinking coming up, and it’s a negative

DmcinT · 16/04/2026 11:42

@FiB83 how is ur first few weeks on wegovy going? What happens if u get a positive test now, do u just stop the injections and all is grand?

I had a good bit of creamy CM in the 2 days before af this cycle ( which I hadn’t had before) but I know it can deff happen in pregnant cycles too

Sonic85 · 16/04/2026 11:57

I think anything that’s different for you, in terms of CM etc., can be a promising sign, so fingers crossed @FiB83 !

I’m CD14 today. Haven’t done an OPK yet but starting to get a few twinges so I think ovulation might be on its way. Honestly feeling a bit jaded and fed up at the moment, but hoping my mood will improve after lunch 😅

It's going ok thanks nowhere near as effective as mounjaro on my opinion though! I'll just stop taking it if I had a positive rest although I did do a clear blue this afternoon and it was negative so I'm not hopeful now

Don’t know if I’m so desperate to see a line that I’m imagining something there?

How many dpo are you? I am so rubbish at these line pictures, but I kind of think I can see something on the second picture.

Sonic85 · 17/04/2026 08:08

@TheFutureIs I think I can see something! How many DPO are you?

TheFutureIs · 17/04/2026 08:21

I’m not sure as I didn’t get a definite spike in lh on the ovulation sticks and my cycles have been a bit irregular since my last miscarriage. I’ll be waiting on period and carry on testing……

FiB83 · 17/04/2026 08:29

Oh I def see a line! It's faint but definitely there!

Can I ask about this test, is it defective? I don’t know if you can see it, there’s a line in the centre of the test, much closer to the control line than I’d expect

Keep testing, if it’s a cheapy, you might get a better result in the evening. Keep us posted!

DmcinT · 17/04/2026 08:48

@TheFutureIs i deff see a line or a shadow at least there, was it within the time window and all? I’ve found most of these I’ve done have a line on them when I look after 10 mins or so, or when they are properly dry

@january1244 again I deff see what ur seeing, is it that it’s settled in the wrong place, if u have any others I’d deff be doing them for a sanity check but I can see a line there for sure

january1244 · 17/04/2026 08:57

@DmcinTI'm not sure, it’s a boots early test, something just doesn’t seem right about it. Line too close to control? I don’t have another one! I’m a little hungover and out tonight, so wanted to do a quick test to check as I’m roughly 10dpo ish. Ugh this is why I hate early testing….

DmcinT · 17/04/2026 09:10

@january1244 i hear ya, that was me last weekend, i only did the tests because I was going out for drinks but the uncertainty it caused deff wasn’t worth it for me tbh

curliegirlie · 17/04/2026 09:13

Good luck to everyone! I had DD3 in January at 43 and she is wonderful! The nights etc are fine (last feed is usually around midnight, she wakes up at 3 or 4 am, then wakes around 6 or 7, so not much earlier than when we get up for school anyway) and I feel much less tired than my last month or two of pregnancy. The pregnancy itself also went smoothly, but as a word of warning (in my trust anyway) they really push induction just before 40 weeks for “advanced maternal age”! I was hoping things might get going for me before my induction date, alas it didn’t, but the induction itself was nowhere near as bad as I feared, and I managed to escape further interventions.

The TTC journey itself was pretty grim - over 3 years in total, early miscarriages on the same day in March 2022 and March 2025, so this time last year I was heartbroken and resigned to it never happening, but at the same time the first pregnancy (at 39) was a happy accident (or rather we’d just got our heads round the whole thing when I started bleeding), and the successful one was just 3 cycles after my last MC, so it feels like that journey encompassed everything!

DD3 is 11 weeks, her sisters absolutely adore her, and absolutely no regrets so far (although I’d be pretty lost without DH’s support). I hope your journeys are shorter than mine was though!

Yeah I think it must be a faulty test! I’ve never seen one like that.

@curliegirliecongrats on your baby! Sorry it was a rough journey to get her

I can possibly also see a squinter more where it should be. I don’t know what’s going on with that central line though. I take it you’ve not got another to try right now?

january1244 · 17/04/2026 09:37

There was nothing in person where the line should be within the time frame. This is why I never normally early test 😂

january1244 · 17/04/2026 09:38

No that was my only test, got a pack of two yesterday. Wont have the opportunity to get another today, with work, kids, getting out. Will just be restrained tonight and sip one wine

Littlebuzz · 17/04/2026 11:02

Hi all
I'm turning 44 soon. First at 39 and now cycle 2 of trying for another but feel we will need to be very lucky.
Have had hormonal tests (great) and amh (not so great but expected for ages).
10 dpo this morning and nothing on the early test, likely out this cycle.

Think we will try another cycle as the supplements I started in Feb will be more kicking in. After that if no luck then probably will try a clinic for more support and see if they have any advice for us .

Feel like it's occupying so much of my brain!

Love.rhis bit of positive! My rear this morning was negative so I'm guessing I'm out as af due tomorrow but if it's meant to be it'll happen

Same here tbh I try not to think about it too much as we have two beautiful daughters but every month around 9dpo I think of nothing else, haven't had any testing at all though, did you get tests privately? If you did who did you go with and why? I'm thinking of it

I was fobbed off by the GP earlier this year feeling very unwell and exhausted and all the blood tests were all apparently fine.
I just felt something was off so asked them for the results and the tests had been really limited. Had a private vitamin and thyroid test which found very low ferratin and vit d levels. Which I then took back to the GP who then insisted on doing their own test and finally admitted I was deficient .... I wanted to ensure it was recorded as I have a long term health condition and it all adds to the picture. Now being treated for both and feeling miles better!!

I saw the same company did female hormone and amh and decided to do that and just see how I was doing and if we had any chance really. Indications good all functioning well just now but ovarian reserves obviously not great at my age.

This was with Randox.

FlapJackered · 19/04/2026 15:35

Just got this at 9dpo. A bit in disbelief as in 8 years I have only got pregnant twice naturally. They both ended in miscarriage so not feeling celebratory just yet! Keeping fingers crossed though. Just not sure if I should start all the drugs I have for post ivf, like progesterone and clexane etc? I will ring the clinic in the morning so maybe I hold off until then?
