TTC number 3 aged 42

Hi

Not really sure what I'm looking for here but if nothing else I'll use this as a diary of my feelings etc. I joined a chat years ago for my first pregnancy and am still friends with some of those lovely ladies so hoping to find some people who are on their TTC journey and we can share experiences l.

As the title suggests I'm 42, I have two beautiful children aged 7 and 9, we decided to try for another baby a year or so again, I needed to lose some weight so did that although I'm still overweight according to my BMI but you know how it is... I'm fairly average at a size 14-16. I still have very regular cycles and don't believe I'm anywhere near the menopause yet....

Anyways, I'm 9dpo I think, I don't do opk or anything like that, tried one month but didn't enjoy feeling obsessed over it and it didn't work anyway..I feel I know my body quite well and am aware of the signs of when I'm ovulating if I am. With our first child it took a good 2 years with one chemical pregnancy in that time before.ewe actually got our baby. With our second child...well we thought about trying and then I was pregnant... Amazing how that happens isn't it!?

So here I am, 9dpo and with virtually no discharge at all. 2 days ago I had a huge amount of white cm that was abit stretchy. I've had a headache on and off and been soooo unbelievably emotional. This isn't normal for me but we are going through quite a bit with our youngest and other normal life events so may be that I suppose. I've had sore breasts and I swear they are bigger if that is even possible!.maybe just very slight cramps over the past couple of days but that maybe only.when I'm thinking about it...

Anyone else at this stage and fancy a buddy to compare notes? I'd love to chat.

I can test from Wednesday I think, although after the trauma of loosing my DD9 at the beach today…….

@DmcinT I think I can see a shadow. I would definitely test again in a couple of days 🤞 Enjoy your birthday celebrations!

@DmcinT I’m positive I see something there… are you 10DPO? I was negative then and positive three days later. Have a brilliant night for your birthday and definitely test again in a day or two x

Thankfully no harm, her and mate aged 11 went off searching for shells , they walked about 1 mile from the restaurant

You absolutely do. Such innocence to walk so far searching for shells ❤️ But absolutely terrifying for you too.

The top test is yesterday’s. I clearly ignored my own plan of waiting a few days like a sane person. I think I’m pregnant. The question is whether I will stay pregnant!

In contrast to the panic I was feeling over being pregnant and losing it again earlier in the week, today I am feeling really calm and positive. Tune in tomorrow for whatever mood swing that brings 😂

Ahh @Bumblebee413 that's a lovely bfp! Satay positive, that's all we can do isn't it. I decided to restart Wegovy and took my second dose on Tuesday when we got back from holiday. Omg the sulphur burps and diarrhoea are horrible! I'm not going to actively TTC but we won't be preventing either

@TheFutureIsoh gawd it’s also the responsibility of looking after someone else’s child and losing them 😂 Bless her, at least she is independent!

I haven’t tested since as I was only doing it early to consider a drink or not, I do find testing early is just so bloody stressful! I think af is on its way in the next day or2 so just gona wait for that

@DmcinTso glad you had a nice time!! A night away would be bliss. We have only managed it for a wedding so were very drunk, and nothing relaxing about it.

Wow you’re so restrained! If i thought I’d seen a hint of a line, I’d be testing again. And I’m not even an early tester

@january1244 I was afraid of us getting drunk early, the night going too fast and not getting the enjoyment out of a night away😅 I’m impressed and slightly shocked at our restraint tbh. We got back to the room shortly after 8, watched a movie, lay on the bed watching silly video on a phone laughing and just enjoying each others company, it was prob boring to most but actually just bliss 😂

well ladies back to CD1 for me yesterday as af arrived. It would only have been 11, maybe 12 dpo, does that seem a bit short for the luteal phase, I dunno. I think because I ovulated a little earlier too that that cycle felt so short. It was only 25 days max!

onto the next and this is our last one really actively trying for a while, we will take the summer off and reassess come Oct time. Not to be negative because please god this is our month but I’m looking forward to not thinking about it and obsessing over it for a few months, I’m also looking forward to exercising , eating healthy etc.. and losing the stone I’ve put on since we started ttc in Sept!

@DmcinT That sounds like a lovely time 😊 Glad you enjoyed your birthday weekend. I’m sorry about AF arriving :( How long is your luteal phase normally? Mine is usually 12 days and I think that’s fine (but at lower end of normal). My luteal phase seems to fluctuate sometimes depending on hormones though, like after stopping bf.

I’m also aiming to take a more relaxed approach for the next few months because I really feel I need a break from all the tracking! I want to focus on overall health and just enjoy the summer.

@Sonic85 thats the thing I suppose, we literally stopped bfing after nearly 2.5 yrs on CD1 of my last cycle so I think that prob messed with hormones a bit. I’m usually 28 days spot on before this with luteal prob 12 or 13 so not really a massive change
it will be so nice to not pee on sticks for a while lol

Morning all, how is everyone getting on today? I'm 12dpo so expecting af to arrive tomorrow. I've noticed quite a lot of creamy cm which isn't normal at this point for me... Usually drys up. Im wondering if it's just the weight loss injections though. I haven't tested as thought better just wait to see if af arrives this month.
