TTC Baby #3 Not our first rodeo 🤠

I thought I’d start a thread for those TTC baby number 3 (and beyond, feel free to join!) It would be nice to share experiences. I feel like where I’m from 3 is the new 2 😅 but I’ve always felt like I wanted a bigger family anyway (I am 1 of 4!)

For background, DD1 has just turned 6 and DD2 has just turned 4. I’m on cycle #2, AF due in a couple of days but I’m testing BFN so roll on cycle #3. I was really hoping to catch before November so baby would only be 4 school years behind DD2 🙈 but what will be will be!

DD1 took 15 cycles

DD2 took 1 cycle

Anyone else??? X

@olivehush thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm trying my hardest to focus on the positives.

Due date is 2nd July. I'll have to have scans every 4 weeks.

Congratulations! What a lovely Christmas present! And great that it's showing 2-3 weeks already.

I actually got a positive test too on 22nd - still can't really believe it!

Sorry for the radio silence, first trimester has been kicking my butt and then throw Christmas into the mix too! 🙃I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday!

@Outside9 I understand the uncertainty and anxiety but as others have said, I’m sure in time you will adjust and before you know it you’ll struggle to imagine your family without your little twinnies! We actually have the same due date - although of course you won’t go to term with two!

We had our 12 week scan on Monday there, I felt so emotional watching the screen! Everything looking good, due date 2nd July but realistically will be a June baby due to my previous pregnancies. We officially announced it to the world yesterday and I’m now entering the second trimester 😍

@MamaO88 congratulations on getting through the first trimester!

@MamaO88 hope you’re not feeling too bad have you had sickness or are you just really tired?how are you doing apart from that?

I’m so nauseous and tired all the time but with my 9month old and 2yr old I barely get any time to try and have a nap or a rest. I’m getting there slowly I haven’t my booking appointment on the 2nd of January so will get my date for my scan then. I’m really anxious for some reason. I go back to work off maternity leave in feb they aren’t going to be too impressed as this is the 2nd time I’ve been back to work pregnant 😂🙈 3rd maternity leave back to back 🙈

@MamaO88 thank you! And yes you're right. It's really unchartered territory. We don't have any twins in our family so starting to research implications as reality sets in.

@Outside9 wow, twins!! Congrats! But I totally understand the shock 🙈 being pregnant now with no.3, a big fear of mine was it being twins 😂🙈😅 but it’s also so special, and it will be your new normal! ❤️😁

@MamaO88 thanks for asking! I had a scan on the 22nd when I was 7+2. Saw a HB ❤️ and measuring 1 day ahead ☺️ 8 weeks now! Must book my 12 week scan for the end of January. Feeling nauseous on and off but overall not too bad. Had a tiny bit of spotting the day of my scan and the next day, but that has thankfully stopped.

Had a private scan today to ease my mind a bit.
nice strong heartbeat but apparently I’m measuring 6wks 2days rather than 8wks I’m not quite sure how that works as I had my first positive test on December 5th and my last period was November 1st or thereabouts. I’m a bit stressed out about it now but hoping for the best and that they’ve either measured me wrong or that I didn’t conceive when I thought I did.

@Lilacrose27i wouldn’t worry too much at an early scan on measurements as long as there is a HB. You usually find they manage to catch up by the 12 week scan. Was it a private abdominal scan?

im doing ok first tri is really kicking butt this time had 2 scans at the EPU and baby looks good so far. 9 weeks tomorrow. The nausea is relentless it’s all day and then ramps up a bit more by the evening and I totally forgot the tiredness is something else too 🫠

@mummatara it was transvaginal I was just happy to see a heartbeat if I’m honest. Had a loss on Christmas Day in 2022 so it’s been a bit triggering and stressful this time around eventhough I’ve got 2023 baby and 2025 baby already. The nausea and tiredness are ridiculous this time around though definitely done after number 3.

Glad you’re doing okay and that your scans have gone well! Not that long really until you’re in the second trimester it’ll fly by just make sure you’re getting enough rest and looking after yourself I know it’s easier said than done most of the time!

Also sorry for radio silence! First trimester has made me its bitch 😂 Still feeling fatigued++ and nauseated, but doing okay thanks! I have my 12w scan on 5th Jan, but I had another quick scan as part of the NIPT test when I thought I was 10+1, but was measuring 11+1. I know my first day of last period, so assume another chunky baby!

@Outside9 so many congrats but totally get the shock! You will be absolutely fine but it’s a lot to take in. Great news that it’s the lower risk side of things. Sending gentle hugs, you know where we are if you need to process or panic! 😂

Will get the official due date on 5th Jan, but currently around 13th July based on scan last week 🙏🏻

I see a line! I'd throw out those One Steps though as they never gave me a line this cycle and the Easy @ Home ones have consistently shown one!

Well I’ve tested again this morning with first urine and there’s nothing there now!!!! 😭

Did anyone else freak out at getting a positive test despite initially wanting this? Does the feeling go away? I can't help focussing on all the negatives of having three kids 😩

Ah I'm sorry. I'd buy some other types of tests just in case. I used One Steps before with no problems but they must have changed recently.

@Anonna123 congratulations I was the same when I found out! I’m going to have 3 under 3 i have thought about everything including feeling selfish for wanting another baby so soon and wondering how I’m going to do it etc. but I had these thoughts with baby number 2 and they just fit into our family and added to the chaos so I’m

Well after a rollercoaster of having a negative positive negative! I have this from this morning but my 2nd wee!!! Should I be nervous it’s not a strong line? Had two miscarriages period was due yesterday

That’s definitely positive! Congratulations!

I understand the anxiety, I think once you’ve had a miscarriage that never really leaves you.

Personally my first lines were lighter than this and I did a couple more tests just to see the progression and to ease my worry a little x

Hows everyone doing?
I had to go for a scan at the epu as had some spitting not major but enough to set my anxiety off. Had my scan today and I’m 9wks 5days baby was happy enough but I found out I have a subchorionic hematoma has anyone had any experience with this in a previous pregnancy? I’m stressing out about it all now. I’m also apparently high risk for blood clots which is a new thing for me and wasn’t told about I found off from my notes.

@unsureforevermore how are you? The test is definitely positive I wouldn’t be too concerned about how light the line is. The anxiety after MC never leaves I’m super anxious about it too and I w had 2 babies since my last MC.

@Lilacrose27morning! I have a subchorionic hematoma with my first born, it didn’t cause me any issues just the bleeding/spotting here and there! Which is obviously frustrating as makes you worry, have they said that they will scan again if bleeding persists etc? I think I pretty much bled here and there through my first trimester and then it eventually just stopped!
Is there a reason your high risk for blood clots? Does it run in the family?

i am still pregnant! roughly 5+2! I feel like I don’t feel shitty enough at the moment 🤣 however my boobs are huge, random cramping here and there and waves of nausea tends to be worse at night - going to contact docs this week to start ball rolling going to be hard to keep quiet till scan tho as already look bloody pregnant haha

How is everyone keeping quiet I’m 5 weeks 4 days and I look about 4 months pregnant!!!! Haha
