For those who want to look to the future and TTC again I would really like some support, advice etc.
I thought we needed a new thread with positive energy (yes have turned into chanting hippy) so that we feel we are moving forward rather than dwelling on what has already passed.
The only thing I can concentrate on at the moment is that next Wed is the day that me and DH can start trying again (this will be 2 weeks after ERPC).
Anyone else ready to try again?

well normally i wouldnt be averse to it - but monday night is a bit of a killer! not a good start to the week

wendy11 · 01/02/2005 13:34

Romillty
I can't remember where I read it but alcohol is supposed to interfer with accurate temperature recording, as is less than four hours sleep, disturbed nights, not recording at the same time each day, etc. I usually just make a note at that reading if is it very different from the rest and forget about it. See how the temp readings are tmomorrow morning. Good Luck

wendy11 · 01/02/2005 13:36

Romilly
Sorry about the spelling of your name. Had hit post message before I realised.

yingers74 · 01/02/2005 13:38

yes glad to see the back of january!

Aha cervical mucus, that was my main technique, check the knickers and then find dh !

Bella23 · 01/02/2005 13:41

Sorry as I know you have all discussed this a million times but I have been reading about it and still need clarification.
I get cervical mucus which is completely clear and shiny. Am I right in assuming that this is when I am ovulating?

OP posts:
romilly · 01/02/2005 14:19

thanks wendy - i thought as much. did you get the toni weschler book yet?

bella - i'm no expert on the CM but in everything i've read it implies the EW time is when it is clear and stretchy - really elastic. but i guess clear and shiney is fertile time too.

Bella23 · 01/02/2005 14:31

Thanks Rom.
I checked out fertilityfriend.com and couldn't quite work out if I was right or not.

Had a really good day today despite filthy cold - you guys are a proper inspiration, fingers crossed for good news soon.
Hope all are well

dramaqueen72 · 01/02/2005 17:28

bella, i think the key is the stretchy-ness of it..it should really stretch far to be super good omen. dh's wont believe what we end up discussing.
at least no-ones mentioned cervical position yet! i believe they move up and back and change 'density' too, tho of course now its important i cant remember which is O time and whats everyday.... its not something i remember to check all that often!!
its bedlam here as having kitchen decorated and few cupboards ripped out tomorrow, so entire kitchen appears to be stacked in dining room.....eek! it was MY idea, part of my 'make a clean sweep of things' and paint and move round....thing is, and shhhhh, dont tell Dh this, i'm not sure about the new idea now..ah well..as there is a heap of paint and shelving piled in the hallway i cant really change my mind now. next project is whole new fireplace, replacing ordinary one in sitting room, with old reclaimed overmantle, that i have yet to strip down....see, not one for doing anything by halves! i LOVE february being here. cheery cheery spring well on way now.
Girl -has that cold not gone yet? poor you((hugs)) hope its better soon.

Bella23 · 01/02/2005 18:01

A woman after my own heart! I am a Taurus and therefore like big bullish impact hence the no half measures! Good luck with the kitchen, a bit of chaos will do you good
Will have to pay more attention next month to the mucus thingy as not sure I am reading mine right.

Just want to jump in here and ask a dumb question. When you chrt you temp, what are you looking for ? Does it go higher or lower when you are ovulating ? I am on my first af after missed miscarriage and d/c in December. We want to ttc asap.

mishi1977 · 01/02/2005 21:17

hi all
havent been around as have had cold and feeling sory for myself..lol
Still no sign of AF..arghhh..but D has said he is aware of the TTC and he is happy to do it..lol...not as dim as i thought....so am thinking of looking at Ov tests to see if i am ov even if have no AF at the min...does anyone know if this happens...sorry to be a bit dim with the whole TTc i basically just try to BD everyday

girlfromip · 01/02/2005 21:36

DQ, you're amazing, I almost had to lie down and close my eyes in a darkened room when I read about your kitchen transformation, you know no fear!
went to tai chi tonight and had a good session absolutely exhausted now but it does make me feel much better. Thanks for asking - cold still terrible but I am beating it into submission with Great Vats of Lemsip and attacking it with the ancient oriental martial art of tai chi........ !
good karma be upon all our wombs....

dramaqueen72 · 02/02/2005 00:29

hey ladies good evening spent at college (photography course), no pains this week from standing up all night
mishi, hope youre feeling better. just so we can save you some energy(!) an average lady (and hey whos average....but still..) ovulates around day 14(day 1 is first day of af) if their cycle is about 28days. so you need to aim to take your o tests from around day 11 9ish) and see if you can discover when you O. i personally O late in my cycle, usually anyhow! so theres no need to Bd everyday!(sounds tiring......)
every other day is a good thing tho...if you and dh can cope! i think my dh will fade away if its not success in the next few months...hes not used to so much bd-ing!!! no sign of my af either, but i'm sure i am either O-ing or due to. not taking opks this month. 'saving them' to spur me on next month you will definately O before af shows for the first time.
Had good chat with dh tonight, about all the success stories (on the other thread i started) hes definately up for not waiting, af or not, its nice to have him so keen and in as much of a 'hurry' as me.
Girl, i'm not amazing, i'm actually abit stupid. i tend to 'fill voids' by tackling projects. sometimes i take on too much, and often i over do it and collaspe in heap. this is why dh sighed when i started making great spring clean after m/c plans, and hired someone to do kitchen. or he knew he'd come home to me wrestling a cupboard from the wall. its not a great kitchen anyways...., and i'm not 'allowed' a new kitchen as we dont intend staying here many years, so he is happy to let me move about and re-hash whats there already. my inlaws take the mickey that my house is never painted the same colours when they call round one week to the next ...
glad vats of lemsip are starting to work on terrible cold. and impressed with your tai chi skills. collecting your good karma for womb, thankyou
Yolauralee, i dont chart so not much help, go to the fertility friend website tho, they have good advice and you can run a free online chart to help you with your temps. hopefully the temping girlies will fill you in more. i think it peeks, i know whatever it does it stays there if good news...
so anyone found cheap pg tests online yet? Intend to buy masses of them..........
bella, dh is taurus, and so is my Dad. sheesh, you guys drive me crackers
night night all

yingers74 · 02/02/2005 09:34

Understand the whole filling voids thing, since M/c have volunteered to help a charity, started doing a yogalates dvd, and given up drinking anything but water. Oh and also keep making plans to redecorate every room and move house, much to the annoyance of my dh!

mishi1977 · 02/02/2005 09:44

DQ
I have bought some pg tests from ebay just wating for them to come but it was 5 for £3.50 and no p+P have used the seller before so usually good quality stuff..it was their tests i had with pip....if u want seller name i will look it up

Bella23 · 02/02/2005 09:45

Yingers sounds like we all want to keep ourselves busy at the moment!
I tried the "body as temple" thing with only water and then have managed to slip into my "body is now a pub" and can't stop drinking!

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 02/02/2005 10:53

chuckle.body is now a pub... v funny B.
my body is now hungry.......i think af must be soonish as i usually crve carbs and snacky stuff just before it. or maybe i'm just being greedy! (my body is now a chocolate shop......)
i drink lots of water lately...have you tried hot water? yes i'm not totally mad, mug of hot water is very cleansing and good for you. hot as in boiled first!!.
mishi, yes please on the sellers name
glad its not just me filling voids, as i write, the kitchen is bedlam...... and workmen everywhere........takeaways for dinner then!

yingers74 · 02/02/2005 12:13

LOL, yes have tried body is a pub too!

Am interested in that ebay seller too, anything to save a bit of money! i do like a bargain.

Bella23 · 02/02/2005 12:39

Am off out tonight with my best friend who got pregnant on her first month of TTC. I also told her to try in the middle of the month and she only had sex once and was successful - HOW HOW HOW HOW HOW !!!!!!
I have been honest with her about how I feel but is still really difficult. Think things are better than last week when I went round and just started bawling mid conversation (totally non related) about how unfair it all was! It was a relief to admit the jealousy but I now feel like I've played that card once!! I feel a lot stonger now so hopefully will be able to discuss pregnancy without urge to blub. Sometimes just very hard to be positive when you feel like kicking off like a toddler screaming "Why me its so unfair!"
Sorry rant over - good news is that I am 3 weeks post ERPC today and looking forward to it being 4 !

OP posts:
mishi1977 · 02/02/2005 12:40

sellers name is tk-diagnostics

usually get items within 2 days

romilly · 02/02/2005 15:39

welcome back mishi - hope AF hurries up for you

yolauralee - your BBT (temp) rises dramatically after you have ovulated so you can pinpoint 0 time as approx 24-36 hours previous to rise on your chart. obviously you have to chart for about 3 cycles before you start getting the true picture - but its v. simple to do and you also then know when you are preggers because the temp will stay high for 18 days if you are. check out the boots book that comes with the thermometer.

bella - LOL body is a pub!!! drink free-zone until friday for me now!!

quick OV test question; how many sticks do you buy and do you do more than two days around peak OV time? was gonna pick up some tonight because my persona hasnt got me sussed yet and i'm feeling impatient as on CD6, first cycle post m/c.

dramaqueen72 · 02/02/2005 15:56

Romilly- my kit says to test on four or five days around O. just so you dont miss it!! gosh i'd be impatient too, what a great time of the cycle youre at... fingers crossed for you

dramaqueen72 · 02/02/2005 15:56

oh and i have ten sticks in my kit.

Bella23 · 02/02/2005 16:02

www.medisave.co.uk is good.
I got a pack of 20 ov sticks for £17.50 (which includes p&p and vat)
They delivered next day
