By popular request (2 votes actually!) this is a thread for old duffers like me who are over the hill and TTC and for anyone who is old and up the duff ! I didn't suggest these terms so please don't get offended if you don't see yourself as a duffer but would like moral support , chat etc...
I am 38 years younh, have ds - 3.8 and have been TTC for 7 months ---aaaarggg!!!

Hi

Love the age positivity - well said

Portree - thanks for the info - acords with a lot of stuff Ive got but v interesting.

peoples stories are very inspiring but what does strike me is that losing a baby at any time is hard but its very hard when time is short to have another one.

jeddah · 23/01/2005 09:05

gosh! us old duffers can talk!

catch up later

Have a good day everyone!

Sliminside · 23/01/2005 13:04

ggod luck marinda- sometimes teh more scared you are teh more sick you can feel - its a real viciuos circle isn't it! REally hope you get the whopping great BFP you deserve

pacinofan · 24/01/2005 09:04

Marinda, here's hoping! Know exactly how you feel, but I think you probably have much more willpower than me, I seem to have a compulsion to test on day 28 if not before. When dd was conceived I tested + day 25, and still went on to do 5 more!! Drives my poor dh mad! Good luck, will be in same position 8 days time!

Merlin · 24/01/2005 09:43

Marinda and Sliminside - just wanted to send lots of luck to you both - hope things happen soon - it's so exciting isn't it?!!!!!

DecafArabica · 24/01/2005 10:34

Good luck Marinda!

Mumfun · 24/01/2005 11:44

Lots of luck Marinda and Sliminside.

Will be testing in 2 days so lets keep all our fingers etc crossed

Michaelangelo · 24/01/2005 14:27

Fingers crossed Marinda. I am only 3 days PO so not Af not due till end of next week, so just starting the long wait. It is very reassuring though to see so many others of similar age to me ahving probs with TTC No.2, I always assumed foolishly if you had one you'd be OK.

marinda · 24/01/2005 18:38

Thanks so much for your support ladies - CD 29 and STILL no AF. Boobs like bullets, nipples sensitive , very odd cramps and nausia this morning and all day. Trying to hold out testing !!!!
Michaelangelo - DR said to me if youv'e had one, you will get another etc.....

Also a friend of mine who is OLDER than me, came off minipill BD ONCE (DH awy alot!!) and guess what Yes ! No 4 to add to her brrod GGRRRR !!

Must go - think I am going to chuck - keep you posted !!!

DecafArabica · 24/01/2005 21:31

Sounds promising, Marinda...fingers crossed for you.

BellaLasagne · 25/01/2005 09:17

Fingers firmly crossed for you Marinda, when are you going to test?

Cd12 for me so we're having a fun time at the moment . Using OPKs this month but no surge yet, expecting it around cd16.

DH has his swimmers test booked for 10 days time. How on earth we're going to get 'it' to the hospital lab 40 mins drive away within the stated hour I don't know!! Tempted to book a hotel room nearby.......

BL xx

marinda · 25/01/2005 15:24

Might be a god idea Bellalasagne - because they need to be tested right away. Think i'll test on Thursday - but maybe only last out till wednesday. Had sickness this morning ans it has lasted all morning just about going off - no sign of AF.
Any advice on best test to do ?

pacinofan · 25/01/2005 16:03

I have always found clear blue and first response to be reliable and simple to use (and believe me, I have tried every test going several times)! Have to say I didn't think much of Tesco's own test - had 2 positives with clear blue yet Tesco showed negative. Surpising, as I find most Tesco products to be of high quality. Fingers crossed, good luck!

BellaLasagne · 25/01/2005 16:50

Ooh, good luck Marinda.

There's been a lot of good reports for ClearBlue and Boots own brand. Fingers crossed....

DecafArabica · 25/01/2005 18:04

Boots own brand (not digital) worked for me!

romilly · 25/01/2005 18:29

boots worked for me too. babydust to you marinda!

DelGirl · 25/01/2005 18:31

marinda · 25/01/2005 22:36

OP posts:
romilly · 26/01/2005 13:36

oooh go on marinda - off to boots with you..

DecafArabica · 26/01/2005 15:18

Well Delgirl, that's what I said--my DS was born in April 2001 when I was 39. Now I'm expecting my second baby who was conceived as soon as we started trying for one.

aloha · 26/01/2005 15:31

Good luck Marinda. I hope it's the news you want.

Merlin · 26/01/2005 15:55
