Hope it’s not too early to start this! For anyone trying in May, and “out” for April.

By some miracle I did fall pregnant this month after over a year TTC but it ended in a chemical just before 5 weeks. I’d tried some new things last cycle (inc baby aspirin and L’arginine, using preseed and doing a daily morning walk!) so going to try all of that again this month and keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻 don’t know when I’ll ovulate yet but I imagine it’ll be right at the end of April…

Thanks @SureLookand @peanutForever- I find it so hard to know what’s best to take!! So much advice everywhere! Has anyone got anything hot to drink - I did drink quite a lot of coffee but have switched to decaf at home (just one in the mornings) and need something to drink at work instead of more coffee!! Any ideas

BerrieSweet · 24/04/2025 19:28

Can you fall asleep and wake up when you’re 10 DPO? Asking for a friend 🙃

SureLook · 24/04/2025 19:32

@FlyHighSky72 I drink decaf black tea, nice and hot!

FlyHighSky72 · 24/04/2025 19:38

@peanutForeverdid a doctor say to take the baby aspirin? I’m wondering if I should try it as I’m older?

Bumblebee1984 · 24/04/2025 20:36

@FlyHighSky72I drink decaf tea and also peppermint tea. I do always have my morning cup of coffee

peanutForever · 24/04/2025 20:43

@FlyHighSky72my dr knows im on it (they didnt advise it, im the one who asked) however its best to check with them as apparently its not for everyone, i have had extensive testing as ive been pregnant quite a few times (only one DS) but i know it can have adverse effects on medicines/other conditions

also few months down the line i will probs try the cough syrup thing

peanutForever · 24/04/2025 20:44

Also i drink lots and lots of tea- one/two normal in the morning and the rest decaf :) with milk no sugar!

HappyTTc · 24/04/2025 20:54

Hello I'm with you all on the whole two week wait. It's very frustrating. No matter how much I say I'm just going to go with the flow it's hard not to. I started using clearblue advanced ovulation tests and got a flashing face on day 7. On day 13 now and still flashing. So got some cheap ones too. Had a darkish line this mornings test and completely faded on this evenings tests. Added pictures for reference. I never have physical signs of ovulation but I know I do. I have a one year old and used ovulation tests when trying for him too. It just had a flashing face the whole time . . Just very confused by ovulation and tests 🙈.

@FlyHighSky72 I'm currently taking folic and Vit D been taking those for a few months but just recently added in Coq10. It's a minefield knowing what to take. My partner is also taking Wellman conception (he had a vasectomy reversal) but he started taking those a few weeks before the VR and has continued to ever since on the recommendation from the surgeon. We've just been referred by our GP to get an SA done but because I'm impatient and I figured the wait time for an appointment would be ages, I've ordered Exseed so we can do a SA at home 🤞🏼

FlyHighSky72 · 24/04/2025 22:04

Thanks @2Sugars2and @peanutForever! Yeah I read about the cough syrup thing. I’m thinking of buying something like conceive plus but not sure - anyone used it?

Katfluff21 · 24/04/2025 22:35

Hi Ladies. Just for those discussing supplements etc, please make sure any advice is taken from a registered professional and claims are supported by peer reviewed research. Prenatal vitamins are fine, but would suggest not taking alongside a multivitamin as some can have detrimental effects in high doses. Saying that I would probably suggest (if you have a balanced diet and include animal products) you're best off with a generic multivitamin and include folic acid and omega 3 on the side. There isn't a lot of strong evidence for Coemzyme q10 done on human trials, but no harm taking it (again it's best to just have a varied diet to get it from food).

I'm a registered nutritionist with a master's degree in clinical nutrition, alongside being a ttc mother of two 😅

Dare I ask about the cough syrup?! 😬

peanutForever · 25/04/2025 06:40

@Katfluff21thats pretty much what naitre is,(generic multivitamin + folic acid) - im going with this as their folic acid is 5-MTHF methylated folate which i need as i cant process usual folic acid...

oh the cough syrup thing 😂 i heard if you take cough syrup foe mucousy coughs (needs an ingredient beginning with with r (cant remember exactly its somewhere on this post) - it helps to thin your cervical fluid (so basically a cheaper version of conceive plus gel which il be honest i dont want to use as ive heard its messy). Again probs not backed up by research but lots of women have said it works for them so if no luck i might try!

Fingers crossed for you too! X

Taysonic · 25/04/2025 10:52

Congratulations @ttcjourney20001 - wishing you a smooth sailing first trimester and beyond!

Your post reminded me of something @LuckyDuck93, in reference to needing to teach fertility in school. I work in a local authority, and not that long ago, we had a request from a delegation from another country who were coming over to visit asking if we could give them tips on fertility and help to increase their birth rates.

I can genuinely foresee a future where fertility and how to improve your chances of getting pregnant becomes a government initiative... Have they done a black mirror episode on this yet? If not, they should!

FlyHighSky72 · 24/04/2025 17:49

I take Q10 too @MayaBplus Proceive Max. Hubby not taking anything at the moment. What do you all take?

@FlyHighSky72 Hey lovely, I take the Fertility Bundle from a natural brand called Wild Nutrition. I am studying towards my 2nd degree in Naturopathic nutrition atm and my tutors don't recommend synthetic vitamins. So, I asked them for recommendations and this was the brand they suggested. I don't know if this has anything to do with my unusually perfect for my age hormons but it looks like they defo haven't done any harm so I will stick with them 😀

I also take Q10 Uniquinol and probiotic consistently. Then on and off I include some extra Vit C and D as well as Omega 3 and Ginger. I recently started garlic outdorless tablets too and hubby is taking them because I heard that garlic can improve the sperm count. 🤭 The Aspirin I take on and off but it should be stopped during period as it makes the bleeding worse.
In regards to the hot drinks, there are some healthy coffee replacements you may like the taste of and they also have health benefits. I have seen them in Holland and Barrett. They are made of dandelion root and chicory.

Hope this info helps you 🥰

Hi everyone! Hopping in on here. I am always a silent lurker on these boards but I feel like I need the moral support this month!

Month 5 of ttc #2, with a chemical pregnancy last month that honestly broke my heart! I can't believe how much it hurt after only knowing I was pregnant for about 10 days.

Just got my peak today at CD15. So far we've BD CD8 CD10 CD12 CD13 and today, so we've definitely been sending in the troops so to speak. I think we'll try SMEP plan and go for 3 in a row now, then a break and one more (although that feels like a lot right now haha).

I'm still breastfeeding my son who is 15 months old, and I always said if we hadn't gotten pregnant by 6 months of trying I'd give up breastfeeding, although the chemical has thrown that off a bit as I'm not sure whether to count it or not!

I always wanted a big family, and for my children to be really close in age, but as I had to have a c-section with my son we didn't want to risk starting trying any earlier than we did. So even though 5 months trying really is nothing, it's still so hard watching the months tick by - especially when I can feel my body clock ticking too!!

So anyway, sorry for my long rambling post, hi again everyone!! And baby dust to you all x

MrsGingerCat · 25/04/2025 15:03

Hey everyone, been a couple of months since I posted. Still trying to conceive, now in the TWW at 2dpo.
This month I really tried to switch off, I did track but we DTD every 2-3 days anyway and then every day for three days when I got my peak. But the main part is we had fun and didn't over think - I really didn't want it to become a chore.
My DH is a teacher and I work mainly from home, so as it's Easter break - it really helped with spontaneity!

Fingers crossed for this month and being more relaxed has helped!!

ttcjourney20001 · 24/04/2025 18:33

Hi everyone, been a little quiet on here since my chemical pregnancy in January, following a MMC in December ‘23. 2 and a half years of trying, heartbreak after heartbreak. I’ve turned 24 a couple of weeks ago, (ovulation day apparently)!! DTD on my birthday and as a result, baby number 1 is on its way, due date 1st of Jan 2026. How bizarre is that!!! Sending baby dust to everyone💕💕

Congratulations!!!

Katfluff21 · 25/04/2025 15:46

Does anyone else get bad headaches and feel dizzy around ovulation?? I've just gone into my fertile window and had awful headaches last 2 days and keep randomly feeling a bit faint? Not sure if it's wonderful hormones 😅

Dreamymama · 25/04/2025 18:43

Finally got my AF today 5 days late fertile window around 11 May fingers crossed for this month ♥️

SpeedyBulletTrain · 25/04/2025 19:22

Hi everyone! Cycle 1 TTC #2 😬 Our DD is 2 and I fell pregnant while on birth control so haven't ever 'tried' before. I'm a bit nervous as I'm still breastfeeding, and my cycle only came back in October and isn't very consistent so I'm anticipating it might take a while. We're trying to take it easy and "see what happens" but I definitely trend towards obsession so not sure how that'll last 😅

FlyHighSky72 · 25/04/2025 19:39

Thanks @MayaB- that makes sense - do you mind me asking how much the ones you take cost? What Q10 do you take? I’ll have a look in Holland and B - I have one cup of decaf coffee a day and have just bought some roobios!
