Eeek I've fucked up. Don't usually ovulate until around CD20, so thought I was good to go ahead and TTC this month (yes I realise a potential baby due on 31st Dec or something could come on Christmas Day anyway but it didn't seem as risky).

But I ovulated on CD13, and now if I'm pregnant it'll be due on Christmas Day.
I'm certain that this will be the month, precisely because I really don't want a Christmas Day baby.

Join me for the two week wait if you have screwed up too!

Hi @Lavendercats Christmas Eve would definitely be better than Christmas Day, but still not ideal 😆 Not long for you to wait to find out then. Will you test before your period is due, or just wait and see if it comes?

@Darmy1 I'm TTC #3. The first two are close together and I wanted a similar gap again but that window has nearly gone (thanks, MMC) so I think we will only give it another month after this and then stop trying. Because we already have two close together I don't want there to be a big gap between them and #3 in case #3 gets really left out.

@Darmy1 sorry to hear of your chemical. It’s soul destroying isn’t it. Sending you love ❤️

My first is 6 years old so this will be a bigger age gap than would want but I think it will be so good for my daughter and she will help. My due date if catch will be roughly 28th December.

I’ve no idea when I’m going to test. I’m about 6DPO today. Sore boobs but that will be hormonal. First cycle back to TTC and so nervous

Darmy1 · 10/04/2025 21:52

@HopefulCove yes I also wished we started sooner, just really want her to have a sibling. I’m now 7dpo

@GrizzlyTheBear I get that. I’m in a similar position I’ve said I’ll probably stop trying if it hasn’t happened by July-ish just because I never wanted such a big age gap.

Darmy1 · 10/04/2025 21:54

@Iris2024 thank you ♥️
yes we’d have a similar age gap (5). It does have it pros as someone mentioned before, less childcare to worry about and more 1:1 time with baby I guess

upupandawaytoday · 11/04/2025 06:47

10dpo today and did not even think of the due date 🙈

HopefulCove · 11/04/2025 07:56

When as you planning on testing @upupandawaytoday? 😊😊 this TWW feels like it’s going so slow! I’m only 4DPO! 🫠

Oh I already caved 😭😭 BFN this morning. going to hold off until Sunday now.

I have a hormone imbalance issue after having the mirena out in December and my cycle has been a mess since. I only picked up ovulation by using Premom (if I even did!)

But I have unbelievable sore boobs atm so even if AF is on its way, I think i would be happy with that, just want to be regular again!

GrizzlyTheBear · 11/04/2025 13:41

Aw bummer @upupandawaytoday 10dpo is potentially too early depending on implantation window, so I wouldn't say you're out yet. Definitely hold out til Sunday! 🤞

These things are almost impossible to plan. My first was due on 20th January. My waters broke on Christmas Eve and he was born on Christmas Day!
Pros:
No planned admissions so the labour ward is likely to be very quiet and staff have more time for you
It's actually rather special
Christmas Day was hectic, needed planning, but very special. We did Christmas presents mid morning and birthday presents with tea and cake at 6pm.

Cons
They will never have their birthday at school.
They will never have their party on their actual birthday
Neither are big issues - he always took his cake in the first day after the holidays and his party was always the first Saturday after they went back.
The birthday planning is a bit tricky due to duplication if presents and organising the cards - it makes for a more hectic run up to Christmas but planning is the key.
The shops carry a very minimal stock of birthday cakes in the run up to Christmas.

Funny
DH held him up after he was born and said "well my boy, you won't have to go to work on your birthday". The registrar rolled his eyes and rather tersely said, u less he decides to become a doctor.

He's 30 now and likes his birthday and has never worked on it

8dpo here and negative. Anyone been stark negative at 8 but then positive at 9 or 10?

SureLook · 11/04/2025 14:04

Great comment @RosesAndHellebores

I think this is very normal. Embryos implant roughly 6-10dpo and you need a couple of days for the HCG to get high enough to detect. So you would only detect a pregnancy on 8dpo if an embryo had implanted on 6dpo. If it implants between 7-10dpo you won't detect it yet, even on a sensitive test.

I meant to add that dd is late May and similarly wasn't at school on her birthday or for her parties as it coincided with Whit week. Again, she was born on a bank holiday and the hospital was also quieter due to no planned admissions.

Good luck to everyone on the thread. I had many miscarriages and hiccoughs and was grateful to get the babies and happy with whenever they came along. It doesn't take much to stop caring when they arrive as long as do and are healthy.

GrizzlyTheBear · 11/04/2025 14:15

You must have been ultra relaxed both times because it was bank holiday @RosesAndHellebores !

I don't think so as three of my two dc reached the third trimester and two the second. All a long time ago now.

I think in many ways it was better 30 odd years ago when we couldn't so accurately pin point anything. We knew mid cycle was our most fertile and could test when we were about a week late.

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 11/04/2025 14:32

I must have missed this thread! I got a positive Ovulation test on the 2nd ! So i think i am 8DPO today, i tested Wednesday and got a BFN which i was expecting to be honest - i will try and hold off until Monday when i in theory will be 12 days - But I am 42 so i do worry about my chances :(

GrizzlyTheBear · 11/04/2025 17:53

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 hi 👋 You would definitely expect a BFN at 6dpo so don't worry. I think that's beyond the realms of possible for a BFP! Is this your first/second baby?

This is hilarious for me as I’d never worked out that I must have conceived the one on the others birthday!! 3rd April and 31st Dec!

I’m trying not to stress but have a frer ready 🥳

technically it would be terrible timing as I have so much booked this summer but due to my age I’m not hanging about either!

Have 2dc already but just never felt complete and exh never wanted more, now I’m remarried to an amazing man who is more than happy to try 😬

Wow that's lovely 😍 I hope you conceive this cycle (even if it messes up your summer plans)!

Im not feeling hopeful, don’t have any symptoms apart from the odd cramp here and there. Worried it’s AF.
Tempted to test tomorrow morning I’ll be 10po

Clara202 · 12/04/2025 12:38

I’m very confused.
I’m 9dpo. Confirmed with digital clear blue advanced opk and also cheapie. Didn’t bother with temping this month. Didn’t have ewcm, but I had all the other usual feelings in my sides etc.
I tested bfn yesterday and today on premom cheap pregnancy tests. Today I’ve had an abundance of ewcm, the ideal fertile kind of ewcm that I would have loved to have seen 9 days ago along with my positive opks! I’ve never had that after ovulation before and I don’t have my usual sore boobs pre period (yet, anyway). So I took another clear blue advanced ovulation test and it’s negative.
Any thoughts?

I often get ewcm in the middle of the luteal phase. You have a secondary oestrogen spike at that point, and in some people that's enough to produce more ewcm. I wouldn't read too much into it. If you're concerned you could do a one-off temp in the morning and see whether it's in your follicular range or luteal range. But I wouldn't worry.

Thanks @GrizzlyTheBear I was desperate to see it during ovulation and now when I’m not fertile I have plenty! Go figure!

Amber17 · 13/04/2025 08:14

Can I join? 12DPO today, would be due 22nd Dec! We already have a Dec baby, who’s now 2, but she was a late Jan due date.
Literally just had a fertility clinic appointment last week as we’ve been TTC over a year with no BFPs, so success this month would save us a fortune in investigations!
BFN at 10dpo, negative today but on a dodgy clearblue where the dye smudged all along the edge so I’m refusing to believe it. Usually would have been spotting for days by now so I’m convinced this our month!
