Did you ovulate on 2nd April? Christmas Day due date!

Eeek I've fucked up. Don't usually ovulate until around CD20, so thought I was good to go ahead and TTC this month (yes I realise a potential baby due on 31st Dec or something could come on Christmas Day anyway but it didn't seem as risky).

But I ovulated on CD13, and now if I'm pregnant it'll be due on Christmas Day.
I'm certain that this will be the month, precisely because I really don't want a Christmas Day baby.

Join me for the two week wait if you have screwed up too!

Also potential Christmas due date. My cycles vary from 23-28ish days so would be around Christmas 🤞so joining you all in the tww and I’m already symptom spotting.
This will be my 6th cycle for a second (first is 4), had a chemical pregnancy last month (wish I didn’t test so early), so I’m extra anxious this month.

Aw hi @Miffy1994 You are right of course. Babies are so precious I'd be delighted to have one any day of the year really but would try everything under the sun to evict it early . Are you TTC your first?

Not my first, trying for #2 and currently on cycle 5. Ahaha, yes absolutely know that wanting them out feeling, mix that in with Xmas and it’d be fun 🤣 I was miserable in the third trimester! DD was c section so no guarantee a second would fly out early unfortunately!

Miffy1994 · 08/04/2025 20:26

And sending hugs @Darmy1 TTC is full of anxiety, even more so having a CP ❤️

Amilliondreamsisallitagonnatake · 08/04/2025 20:46

I’m working out as Boxing Day due date. Entirely not what we planned for but we shall see what happens

Oh tell me about it, the third trimester I got all the horrible pregnancy symptoms available. I was delighted when labour started (although my delight did not last long hah).
Would you have another CS, or go for VBAC? At least with a section they would probably do 39 weeks to avoid Christmas?

@Darmy1 sorry to hear that. I imagine it must be awful getting your hopes up. Do you think you'll be able to hold out to test until your missed period?

@Amilliondreamsisallitagonnatake hello! Boxing Day eh? Not sure if that's better or worse than Christmas Day!

My son was due Christmas Day by my dates, New Years Day by my scan dates. I ate my Christmas dinner and declared that he could arrive now, celebrated New Years Eve with a non alcoholic drink and said it was about time he arrived. He hung on in there until mid January and then had to be delivered by Csection.

Darmy1 · 08/04/2025 21:53

@GrizzlyTheBear every month I’ve said I won’t test early but I never stick to my word! I’ll try my best but it’s so hard!!

Muddysocks1 · 09/04/2025 07:24

Turns out I am pregnant 😮 due date a week before Xmas. I’m convinced it won’t stick. And if it does I imagine it being early anyway for some reason! Im liking the idea of hibernating a bit in December, all cosy, lots of Xmas films and wintery stuff.

GrizzlyTheBear · 09/04/2025 08:18

@Darmy1 I get it completely. It is very hard. I live somewhere I can't buy tests, so it's easier for me as I can order Amazon to deliver them around 15dpo. Can't test if I don't have a test!

@Muddysocks1 massive congratulations! 🎉 What dpo are you? I know what you mean about winter snuggles. It's great getting the sofa stage out the way while it's raining outside anyway.

Massive congratulations darling 🩷 what DPO did you test? I’m only about 5DPO today.

HopefulCove · 09/04/2025 21:05

Can I join!? I’m 3DPO tomorrow - TTC for number 2 following a MMC back in November (which only fully resolved itself in Feb!)

When is everyone testing!?

Miffy1994 · 09/04/2025 21:18

@GrizzlyTheBear I would definitely like to go vbac but we will see what happens! Can’t face the thought of another c section knowing the recovery involved, so would like to be blissfully unaware again!
Congrats @Muddysocks1 ❤️ hope this one will stick for you!
Hello @HopefulCove 👋 sorry to hear about the MC ❤️ 7DPO here and really hoping to hold out till at least 11DPO so I’m miserable for less days waiting for AF

SureLook · 09/04/2025 22:08

@HopefulCove also TTC #2 after an MMC in January. Solidarity! I'm gonna try and hold out testing until after Easter but we'll see 🫠

GrizzlyTheBear · 09/04/2025 22:23

Hi @HopefulCove , welcome. Sorry about the MMC. I'm another who had one before Christmas, they really suck.
I like to wait until a morning my husband isn't working so we can look at the result together. Plus I don't test early so I'll probably test on Good Friday, when I'd be 16dpo.

How early does everyone test? I’ve said to myself I’ll try not to test until my period is due but I’m not sure I’ll be able to wait 😅

@Onwardsandupwards2025 with my first I got a positive at 10 dpo and it appeared pretty quickly. However, it was a nervous wait to make sure my period didn’t come and it made the pregnancy really long.
Ideally this time I would wait until the day my period is due or the day after. This is my first cycle so we will see how well I do on this.
I am thinking it helps not to have lots of tests in and then I don’t want to test early and waste what I have. I also often see people testing early with unclear results which then turn negative. I think the truth is these squinter lines were not positive in the first place and it causes a lot of heartache.

Darmy1 · 10/04/2025 06:14

@Onwardsandupwards2025 last month I tested about 9dpo an got a really faint positive (resulted in chemical) so I think I’ll try and wait longer this time.

Anyone have any symptoms yet ?

those who are trying for #2, how old is your first? Mines 4 (5 end of the year) and I’m feeling a lot of pressure/anxiety about the age gap, every month I don’t get a BFP causes me more anxiety that there’s a bigger and bigger gap!

SureLook · 10/04/2025 06:27

@Darmy1 sorry to hear about your chemical. My DD is 2 and a half, will be 3 in November. I think we have these "ideal" scenarios in our heads which just puts more pressure on. Bigger and smaller age gaps have pros and cons throughout the years. There's three years between me and my older sister and we're not particularly close and four years between my partner and his brother and they're very close.

@Darmy1 sorry to hear about your chemical. My first is 3.5 heading towards 4 so we will have a bigger age gap. This was our intention due to childcare costs but everyone seems to have such small age gaps

HopefulCove · 10/04/2025 07:29

I’ve been pregnant three times (only 1x bubba earth side) but I’ve always got a positive around 9/10DPO which I think is relatively early, so I find it SO hard not to test from around then 😬 I’ve also got another December baby so I was kind of hoping for more of a spring baby for my 2nd but as we all probably know here, you definitely cannot pick and chose when they come 😬🙈

has anyone who is further along in the TWW got any promising symptoms?

Clara202 · 10/04/2025 08:02

I’ll test 9dpo, I’m going out that evening for my auntie’s birthday and that will help me decide whether or not I’ll have a glass of bubbly or two. I have been trying for 7 months and not even a hint of a positive. I’ve missed out on enjoying so many occasions thinking ‘this could be it’ and it’s never been it so I’ll test at 9dpo!

Lavendercats · 10/04/2025 08:21

My due date would be 24th December! Trying for baby number 2, this is our 5th cycle. 8DPO today but my LP is on the shorter side so my period is due on Sunday so I'll know soon either way!

HopefulCove · 10/04/2025 13:27

@Darmy1my little boy turned 3 in December. So can definitely relate to the feeling of pressure around age gap. My MMC baby was due in June so I thought a 3.5 year age gap would have been great for us. But now looking more like it will be 4+ years ☹️ starting to regret not TTC sooner.

What DPO are you? I’m only 3 so obviously not symptom spotting as of yet…

This is a reason NOT to test 😆 It doesn't hurt a baby to drink before 4 weeks, so you are definitely fine to have a drink. But somehow once you know you're pregnant you can't make yourself do it. Better not to know!
