Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

@BGxxx I always get ewcm around 4/5 days after I've ovulated. I thought something was wrong and I was missing ovulation, but Google told me that it's a secondary estrogen surge and it's normal. Maybe it's that?

Oh I hope it is!! I’ll do an LH test later to double check but that would make sense, I’ve never had it before so I was thinking I hadn’t ovulated at all. Have you had it when you conceived before?? I didn’t know if it was bad news to get it again🤣

Ladyinpink1 · 26/12/2024 11:41

@Vanilla90 I had a nice day yesterday and too much nice food 🐷 But when I woke up this morning and felt nothing and I just knew i'm out again, it hit me so I thought why not spread my sadness on mumsnet, sorry guys 😂
How was your day? I'm sorry you feel you are out as well. How many dpo are you now? I know, it's all such a head melt isn't it.
That's good to have a plan to focus on.
I have had recurrant loss tests which cover all the blood disorders etc and then 2 sets of tests through the GP, according to them, I ovulate regularly, hormone levels are as they should be etc, which is actually more frustrating as there is nothing I can fix Iykwim.
I had a consultant appointment last month, (was for the recurrant losses but by a very fortunate chance she was also the person that dealt with the fertility) so she checked my womb via ultrasound and went over blood tests, said everything is as it should be. She said the only one thing left to do is like a hycosy but not one .. Google tells me it's called a hysterosalpingogram or HSG basically they put dye into the tubes and xray them to see if there are any blockages. I am waiting on my appointment for that. Woah, i'm on a roll for long messages today lol x

@BGxxx Sorry you are frustrated too, seems like a few of us are not having the best time today. I also get ewcm throughout my cycle and it increases just before my period as well, as Vanilla said it must be surges throughout your cycle. x

@Ladyinpink1 I ate too much too, was in a food coma come 8pm and ready for bed 😂
I think I am about 11 DPO. I have quite a long luteal phase.
Yeah I know what you mean, if you've been told that there isn't anything wrong it must be so frustrating! Did they test your partner too?
How long will it take to get your appointment? X

@BGxxx yeah I always get ewcm 5 dpo, even the times I conceived, then I notice it go like white lotion. Very odd!! X

BGxxx · 26/12/2024 18:23

@Ladyinpink1 @Vanilla90 thanks girls I feel better now, my LH test was basically a 0 so hopefully it’s just another rise xx

Figtree11 · 26/12/2024 20:44

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

@Ladyinpink1 i’m sorry you are feeling sad 😔 It’s really hard, it’s such a relentless process TTC. I hope it’s not long til you get the hsg appt thru

@Vanilla90 im sorry you aren’t feeling positive about this month. I hope 2025 brings good news for us all. Hopefully the GP can help if you do make an appointment. Sometimes just knowing you are being seen by someone can help the mind I find

@BGxxx thats good that the lh test is low. Fingers crossed you get some good news soon

I’ve had a nice Christmas but also kind of glad it’s done. I’ve felt very reflective this Christmas. As last Xmas after my first loss i thought that this Xmas would be different. And because it’s not, and I should be having a Christmas with a baby it’s just made me feel sad. So now I’m trying to think more positive & hope that 2025 is a better year

BGxxx · 27/12/2024 10:21

I’ve just started my period so my luteal phase was 5 days 🤦🏻‍♀️

Vanilla90 · 27/12/2024 15:11

@Figtree11 how are you doing? Are you getting on with the medication okay?

@BGxxx oh ffs, how annoying! But at least you ovulated this month, this cycle has been an improvement for you, so hopefully next one should be even better! Slowly getting back to the norm x

Figtree11 · 27/12/2024 15:24

Oh I’m sorry @BGxxx thats frustrating. Hopefully your body is just getting back on track & the next one will be different

@Vanilla90 I’m doing ok thank you & getting on ok with the Metformin. I did feel sick last night but think that might be from just eating too much! I’ll be doubling the dose on Monday so apprehensive on how I’ll react then. How are you today?

BGxxx · 27/12/2024 15:53

@Vanilla90 yes that’s true, I’m totally pissed off though I was hoping to have at least a 7 day luteal phase 🤣🤣

@Figtree11 thank you! How long does the metformin take to kick in, is it a long process??

I’m not sure what to do from here to be honest, I don’t know whether to try and lengthen my luteal phase with vitamins or just wait and hope it levels itself out? I feel like giving up trying all together right now but I’m sure I’ll change my mind when I’m over my bad mood 🤣🤣

Figtree11 · 27/12/2024 16:40

@BGxxx i think it takes between 3-6 months for cycles to regulate. Which is frustrating as I want results now lol. I got pregnant twice before pretty easily (ended in MC) but this third time is taking a while. Just hope the pcos isn’t too severe seeing as I’ve got pregnant before.
It’s so frustrating when AF arrives, maybe give it another cycle or so to see if you get back to a normal length & keep trying in the meantime

BGxxx · 27/12/2024 20:06

@Figtree11 it seems like an eternity when you’re waiting doesn’t it! And it’s the unknown too, like it and when you’ll next conceive! If you could look in the future and know I think that would be helpful 🤣

Ladyinpink1 · 28/12/2024 10:21

@Vanilla90 I'm going back to healthy eating very soon. Once I have finished all the chocolate left in the house of course 😆.
Do you feel anything promising yet symptom wise? Will you test or wait? Yes dh has gotten a letter on the back of my appointment (the consultant was so efficient) dh isn't keen for it but think he will be OK cone the time. I didnt get a time frame for mine, I might ring in January. x

I'm really sorry your period has arrived @BGxxx . How are you feeling?
Hoping for you this I'd a sort of reset and the next cycle is better x

@Figtree11 Thank you. Hope you are still feeling ok from the medication. It's good the increase is gradual.
How are you feeling now about things? I think this time of year when everyone is off work and emphasis is on family time can be harder too.
Hoping this fresh new year brings good news for all of us. x

Sorry for my depressing post ladies, I was feeling so gutted. I did a test to confirm it was a bfn and I feel better knowing, and onto the next cycle soon, I have ordered impryl, just for dh to start as it's 50 quid for a month 🤯

Hi I would love to join, I have been ttc for #2 for 9 years yes a very long time, I had my second ectopic a couple months ago which resulted in my losing my tube, I've had multiple mc also. So when everyone around me is falling pregnant although I am happy for them im also sad for myself and my family without sounding selfish. I'm hoping 2025 is our year.

Vanilla90 · 28/12/2024 11:00

@Figtree11 my friend went on Metformin, she got really bad sickness with it at first, she went back to the doctor and they came up with a plan to help her manage it and it worked, so if you don't get on well with it, I am sure they can help. Good that you haven't got many side effects at the moment, so hopefully upping the dose won't make much of a difference. It's definitely a positive sign that you've managed to get pregnant before. Fingers crossed that the medication works and you won't have to be on it for long 🤞

@BGxxx so how long was your cycle this month? It's crap that AF came, but not long until your new cycle starts, hopefully the next one will be a bit more normal. It took me a good few cycles for my body to get back into the swing of things. I know they say breast is best, but it's a bloody inconvenient when you're TTC!! 🤣

@Ladyinpink1 I was thinking on doing the same, but I have about 10 boxes of chocolates to get through, it'll take me another month to finish them 😂 well I started to get some hot flashes and aches so I think it's AF symptoms (I sound like a menopausal woman) 🤣
Hope you get your appointment soon!
£50?! Oh wow. Well, it's something new to add into the mix, hope it makes a difference 🤞
How are you feeling now? X

Hi, welcome to the group. Oh I'm so sorry, how devastating. It's so hard seeing others falling pregnant, especially when you've just suffered a loss. How are you doing now? X

MadeWithL0ve · 28/12/2024 11:18

I am feeling hopeful, I use to track everything it would stress me out the month I fell pregnant with my ectopic was the month I decided not to track or constantly test early so I am trying to take a more relaxed approach, I haven't been tracking ovulation with opks and just doing the deed every other day and hoping for the best

BGxxx · 28/12/2024 11:37

@Ladyinpink1 I’m trying to eat healthy today 🥲 the chocolates are so tempting I’ve put them all away and hoping I forget about them🤣 I was definitely feeling really negative yesterday, I feel like I’ve given up today🤣

@Vanilla90 I think 36 days, so day 31 before I ovulated and then 5 day luteal phase!

@MadeWithL0ve ive got everything crossed for you!! I think sometimes it’s best not to track and just hope

I’ve decided not to track anymore either, if I haven’t conceived by the time she’s 2 I’ll stop feeding and then track properly from then

Figtree11 · 29/12/2024 20:09

@BGxxx yeah every day feels like an eternity when waiting! Hope you are doing ok today. I’m also not tracking ovulation & just taking things as they come while the medication does its thing

@Ladyinpink1 im doing a bit better now that Christmas is over, thank you. I feel like Christmas is such a milestone moment, it’s hard not to reflective of what could have been. So now that’s out the way I’m trying to feel a bit more positive about 2025. How are you?

@MadeWithL0ve i am so sorry for your struggles. Must be so hard to have had a second ectopic. There are a lot of pregnant women around me at the moment & I really struggle with it. I’ve definitely distanced myself from them to try protect myself, as being around them just makes me so sad for myself

@Vanilla90 thank you, I have read that there’s a slow release version of Metformin that’s meant to not cause as many gastric issues so will definitely be something I’ll ask about if I struggle. I’m trying to go into 2025 in a more positive mindset, and hope the year brings some good news. How are you doing?

Vanilla90 · 30/12/2024 12:28

I am in the worst mood. AF is imminent. I am covered in spots. Feeling like it's hopeless and getting increasingly frustrated.
Meant to be going for afternoon nibbles at a friend's house for a couple of hours tomorrow... will be pregnant people there. Would rather boil my head 🙃
@Figtree11 I wish I could get into a positive mindset 😂

Figtree11 · 30/12/2024 21:06

I’m sorry @Vanilla90 knowing AF is about to appear is just the worst. Love the would rather boil my head comment though haha. I was around kids/pregnant women today & had to remove myself from baby chat.
Not sure how long my positive mindset will last, hopefully at least until New Year’s Day 🤣

Ladyinpink1 · 31/12/2024 22:14

Hi @MadeWithL0ve I'm sorry your journey hasn't been easy far, hoping 2025 brings you good news. You don't sound bad saying that at all, we all feel that way I think x

I know... it would be rude not to finish the chocolate first though lol. @Vanilla90 Aw i'm sorry you are feeling AF is on the way, it's such an emotional time in he tww isn't it, have you managed not to test so far? Those pms symptoms sound awful, I hope you are still in with a chance. Is it Thursday af is due?
Af started for me today right on schedule but I do feel better knowing it's a new cycle. x

@BGxxx Well done for resisting the chocolates 🍫 I have decided next Monday is the time I will start being good instead because there is just too much nice food lol. Sorry you have been feeling that way, how are you feeling today? x

@Figtree11 Sorry you have had the baby chat around you, it's so tough isn't it. Yes def a tougher time of year, but as you said, 2025 will hopefully bring us good news 🙂. Have you had any changes from the medication so far? x

@Vanilla90 has af turned up??

@Ladyinpink1 I’m over my mood😂 I don’t want to give up breastfeeding but I know if I did the whole process will be easier! So with that in mind I’m just going to try and relax and if it does happen in the next few months then great and if it doesn’t then it doesn’t. How have you been?

Figtree11 · 01/01/2025 09:29

Happy new year everyone ☺️

I’m sorry that AF arrived @Ladyinpink1 hope you are doing ok?
I upped the dose to 2 tablets a day this week & I definitely feel sick for a while after now. But last night we had a Chinese takeaway and I felt so ill that I was actually sick. I’ve since read that eating high fat foods is not good with Metformin! So a healthy diet for me it seems.
I think I had some ovulation signs over the weekend too, so hoping I am in a TWW now

Vanilla90 · 01/01/2025 10:16

Happy new year ladies!

@Figtree11 amazing news about your ovulation signs! A great start to the year for you!
I got asked the dreaded question, "do you think you'll have another baby?" And I just thought, you know what, f*ck this and replied "we've been trying for the last year but had two miscarriages". The look on their faces! So I think they'll think twice before asking now lol.

@BGxxx not yet. Due tomorrow. It needs to hurry up so I can get onto a new cycle.
How often are you breastfeeding? It's so hard to cut it out. I don't know how people manage to stop when they're like one!

@Ladyinpink1 no I didn't test. Once my legs started aching and spots started appearing, I knew I was out. AF is due tomorrow. Weirdly, symptoms started a week before (usually I only get them a few days before) so not sure what's going on there. My body is probably going to treat me to an extra painful AF to kick off the new year 🥲
Did you test this cycle, or did you manage to stay strong? Lol
