Friendly/supportive/sensitive thread 🌱

Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

Well AF decided to make an early appearance! We have to skip out January as I'm having a medical procedure to remove the polyp so next tww for us will be February!

Oh I'm sorry 😔 how crap! Hope you're feeling okay x

Ladyinpink1 · 21/12/2024 19:38

@Figtree11 I'm so sorry about your diagnoses but glad you have been given a medication that hopefully will regulate things without too many side effects. A regular cycle would be great for you now.
I was going to say I had heard of a tablet that helps too but I just see Kate has mentioned, and remembered the name too 🙂. x

@Vanilla90 I have a 13 day LP so my period is due on 31st December so not too far from you. Will you test or wait?

The longest it had taken me to get pregnant in previous pregnancies was 5 months, and 2 of the pregnancies I have had I fell pregnant right away, I guess I was fortunate before, and so with that difference it makes me wonder is it ever going to. But any ways I will keep up the hope. 🙂
Oh I hate the actual fairground rolercoasters too never mind the ttc one.... which may actually be worse ha ha x

That’s really difficult that it’s taking longer this time, it’s so tough when you’ve had a loss, all you want is to be pregnant again! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed you’ll be going into the new year with a positive!

If I make it to 10dpo with no period I’ll be testing I think, although I’m convinced it’ll arrive before then🙄

Ladyinpink1 · 21/12/2024 21:58

You are sweet @BGxxx Thank you.
Any sign of your opks darkening more or do you think you have had your peak? Great that things are going the right way, as you said, your body is behaving and trying now at the very least 🙂 x

Has everyone noticed the reaction buttons on the chat now? I quite like them x

I hadn’t until you reacted to mine I think 🤣 they’ve gone back down today, I got a peak of 1.35 which is the highest I’ve ever got so hopefully that’s a good thing. I feel on edge though constantly expecting bleeding, and I’ve heard so many people say pp periods are so heavy and horrendous so I don’t want to get caught out!

Hope that time flies by!! I remember you saying your sil is pregnant at the moment, will you have to see her over Christmas?😭

I’m ready for the when are you having another comments🙄 closely followed by when will you stop breastfeeding 🤣

Vanilla90 · 22/12/2024 10:04

@BGxxx honestly, those comments are just the worst! When will these people learn to mind their own business!
A few days after my 1st MC someone at work said, "how's your little one doing? He must be getting so big now! Time for baby number 2?"
It took all my strength not to throw a stapler at her head 🥲

Vanilla90 · 22/12/2024 10:21

@Ladyinpink1 oh I got confused! For some reason I thought you said it took you 14 months to conceive last time, clearly I can't read, sorry!
It's good to say positive and keep up the hope, I need to take a leaf out of your book.
I don't think I will bother testing early. I get really obvious signs when AF is approaching. Spots, aches, hot flushes all a few days before, so I usually just know. Saves the disappointment of staring at a BFN and feeling stupid lol. I did a test last cycle because I was a day late and was clinging on to a tiny bit of hope, but I had AF signs, so I don't even know why I did it to myself!
What about you? Do you think you will test early so you know before NYE?

Kateeeeeeee · 22/12/2024 10:43

Wondering if any of us are cycle buddies this month? I am likely 2dpo today and period due on 2nd January. Anyone else?

I tend to get so emotional during my late luteal phase so new years eve looks like a potentially tough day 😂 also since I might take a test that day… oh what a beautiful surprise it would be to find out about pregnancy right when going into the new year! 🥹 fingers crossed for us all this month! 🤞🏼

BGxxx · 22/12/2024 11:59

@Vanilla90 the stapler would probably serve her right 🤣🤣 I don’t know why people ask it that way, as if you haven’t thought about whether you’d like another baby or not until they mentioned it

@Kateeeeeeee I’m 1dpo so just behind you!

Period due 3rd Jan!
With you on the emotions - I cried at a Facebook video this morning of a dog being reunited with its owner 🤣
Ah a BFP would be amazing on NYE! Fingers crossed for you 🤞
I did think about testing early so I could drink if it was negative and let my hair down a bit, but I think it would ruin my mood and I would end up in bed by 8pm with the hump 😂

So true right!! It’s so sad when people are so insensitive and ask those triggering questions. I guess they must be very lucky to have never come across issues with conceiving before.
I am already worried about anyone in our family asking us at Christmas…… especially since everyone knows that we want to have a family, we just never specified when. I have some good answers prepared at least… something funny along the lines of „I already have a son!” pointing to my husband 😅😂 hopefully it will loosen the atmosphere and stop them from asking more.

good to know I am not the only one who gets so emotional…. Right now I am still ok but usually by 7dpo I cry at everything! And totally get you on the going to bed at 8pm, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what I would probably prefer to do 😂 luckily got no crazy plans so no obligations, just a relaxing evening with my husband at home. What about you?

It’s hard to know what to say isn’t it!

I don’t drink so I don’t have to worry about that over Christmas and at least no one will question why if I don’t! Although I’m only 4dpo at Christmas so I doubt it would matter 🤣

Figtree11 · 22/12/2024 20:49

@Jess1066 i’m sorry that AF arrived 😔

@Ladyinpink1 thank you, I ordered the myo inositol so will start on that tomorrow along with the metformin. Trying to stay positive. Will give it a couple of months & then I think I’m going to look at going private for some more in depth tests hopefully. Hope you are ok

Ladyinpink1 · 22/12/2024 21:39

Woohoo @BGxxx That's great you got such a good peak.
Hoping you dont get a period at all but if you do that it's light enough x

@Vanilla90 tbh it's probably me and how I typed it, I always do it way too fast and make so many mistakes. When I created the thread it had been 14 months ttc since my last miscarriage which happened in August last year, maybe that was it?
Ooh your pre menstrual symptoms sound not very nice, Sometimes it's so hard to resist testing, I always get this moments pause before I test where I know it's going to be a negative and make me feel awful but I just do it anyways lol. I will "try" very hard to wait and not test. 😇 x

I am not far off you @Kateeeeeeee I am 5dpo, period due on 31st x

I am good thank you @Figtree11, I have good feelings for you with this new plan with the medication starting tomorrow and lots of hope for you. Will you expect a period soon after starting or could you ovulate first abd so need to take opks? x

OP posts:
BGxxx · 22/12/2024 21:50

@Ladyinpink1 thank you! I was telling my partner all about my peak tests and he was so excited that he was getting lucky 🤣🤣 The 31st jan is 10dpo for me so if I haven’t started my period I will test then, if I haven’t done before 🤣

Vanilla90 · 23/12/2024 19:47

@Figtree11 how are you doing/feeling? Have you taken the medication? Hopefully no side effects?🤞

@Kateeeeeeee we are having a quiet one at home too. Gone are the days of going out drinking. I think I am officially old 🤣 we were invited to a New Year's party at some friends, but they're big drinkers and I don't think I could face the "why aren't you drinking, are you pregnant comments" 🙃

@BGxxx I think men enjoy TTC more than us 🤣 we get stressed about getting the timing right and tracking and they just look forward to getting lucky 😂

@Ladyinpink1 I re-read your first comment and it made sense, I just read it wrong and thought it meant it took you 14 months to conceive last time. I really don't understand our bodies. I managed to fall pregnant quite easily the last few times too, but now it's like my body is saying, nope, not happening!
I do that little pause as well lol. I just say to myself, it's negative, like I'm just confirming it's negative so I don't get my hopes up.

Figtree11 · 23/12/2024 21:09

@Vanilla90 i’m doing ok thank you. Picked up the metormin & started it today. No side effects as of yet, I imagine they will start once I start upping the dose next week 😬 have been feeling pretty low but trying to get in a positive mindset with it now.
I also fell pregnant quickly with the 2 losses I’ve had, but it’s coming up to 8 months now. Seems there’s a few of us who are in the same boat at the moment.
How are you?

@Ladyinpink1 thank you ❤️ the consultant didn’t give any indication about timelines so I think in my head I’m going to not worry about ovulation right now & see when my period comes. Not had a proper one since October 😬 I’ve read that ovulation testing with PCOS isn’t accurate, so I’m not sure if that will still be the case with taking the metformin or not

BGxxx · 24/12/2024 14:09

Hope you all have an amazing Christmas girls🎅🏻🎄 and hopefully next year we will all have new additions with us to celebrate with ❤️

Jess1066 · 24/12/2024 15:02

Merry Christmas for tomorrow everyone! Thanks for your well wishes when AF arrived as well! We are just having a quiet Christmas together this year so happy with that! Hope that 2025 brings all of us the news that we hope for! I'll be wishing you all the best for ttc in January and if everything goes well hope to join you all again in February for those tww!

Ladyinpink1 · 26/12/2024 09:48

update, sorry this is a negative post but i just need to rant and I cant do it in real life really

Hi guys, how is everybody doing?
I'm sure this isn't the month for me, I am 9dpo and have no symptoms at all. Last time I had loads of early symptoms by now; cramping, strange dreams, waking up through the night, difference in cm etc.
I feel really quite sad by it and don't know how it's ever going to happen. I am ovulating regularly and did so many things right again this cycle, just don't understand. Can't face a test this cycle for the first time ever will be easier to just wait for my period and then I'll be on a new cycle. Thinking of investing in impryl to try for Jan for my dh x

@BGxxx Glad your partner is on board, that definitely helps :) x

It's so frustrating isn't it @Vanilla90 I have tried everything I did before and tried to recreate things but nothing has worked. It makes no sense . x

Yes, that makes sense @Figtree11 How have you been feeling from the medication? x

Hi @Jess1066 thank you for the positivity, hoping this time goes in really fast for you. Pop in for a chat while you are waiting if you feel like it :) x

Vanilla90 · 26/12/2024 10:32

@Ladyinpink1 how was your Christmas? Did you manage to enjoy yourself?
I think I am out too. Boobs are getting sore, timing is just right for the approach of AF.
I have given up symptom spotting, when I have symptoms and think I am pregnant I turn out not to be. Each time I was pregnant, I thought I wasn't before taking a test. It's unpredictable. Two of the pregnancies I had no symptoms. Drives me crazy.
Have you spoken to your GP about it?
It's going to be a year for me in Jan, so I think I might a book an appointment at some point in the next few months if things don't change x

BGxxx · 26/12/2024 11:08

@Ladyinpink1 I definitely understand that, it must be really frustrating when you’re doing everything you possibly can! I do think a lot of the time there is nothing you can do to help which is even worse because there’s nothing to change!

@Vanilla90 I agree about symptoms, I had implantation bleeding the first time so I was then thinking every month I didn’t get it I definitely couldn’t be pregnant but the 2nd time I didn’t have it at all.

Slighty fustrated, I’m 5dpo and have ewcm again?? I just don’t understand, I was certain I ovulated this cycle with my peak tests but maybe I haven’t? I honestly don’t know whether to give up trying until I can stop breastfeeding because its making me so annoyed
