Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

@Vanilla90 I'm waiting to see if I get a positive on a regular test first. Even the basic digital that says pregnant/not pregnant is nearly 20 euros and the kind that tells you far along you are is even more expensive 🫠 I don't want to take one of those for nothing. And there's a good chance that if I'm pregnant but only getting faint lines, the digital wouldn't pick it up yet. That happened when I was pregnant in july 🫤
Regardless, I'm done stressing about this at 8 o'clock sharp tomorrow 😆 Either I have a positive test and that's it, or I don't and I'll make myself the doctor's problem.

I’ve had some spotting this morning, we had sex last night since he got back from being away so it could be that or the start of a mc as I’ve got cramping. I’ve never had a spontaneous mc before so not sure how long it would take to start? I did another test, the top is Friday and bottom today

@BGxxx ah I'm sorry, it's such a worry.
Cramping and spotting is pretty common this early on though, so hopefully it'll pass 🤞
You've got some great line progression, which is a positive!
When I had a chemical, I had spotting for a day, then the day after I noticed the bleeding got heavier and the cramps became painful, that's when I knew.

I'm sorry to hear that! Try not to worry, though I know it's easier said than done. I had cramping at odd times and often after sex when I was in the first trimester in my first two pregnancies. I was so worried every time! I also had spotting at 11 weeks in my first pregnancy, but it turned out fine.
Fingers crossed 🤞

Is there any point trying to contact epu tomorrow? Obviously nothing they can do but I didn’t know if it was the type of thing that’s good to have on record although I’m assuming it’s happened because of breastfeeding. The spotting is still the same just light pink/brown and I’m only about 4 weeks so I don’t know if they’d even do a blood test?

Vanilla90 · 19/01/2025 14:52

@BGxxx they probably won't see you at this stage. I was 5 weeks and I was told to wait a week and come back if I needed to. But each hospital can be different, so there's no harm in trying.
I made an appointment with my GP so it would go on my record, they were very helpful and answered any questions I had. Can you do that first thing? They'll know whether EPU will see you.
Pink or brown spotting is usually classed as okay. If it progresses to bright red, then that's a bit more of a concern. Even then, some people bleed and it turns out to be fine, it's so hard to tell this early on. It can be something or nothing! Doesn't stop you stressing though.
Hope you're feeling okay!

BGxxx · 19/01/2025 15:20

@Vanilla90 I’ll phone the gp in the morning and see what they say! I don’t really feel like I need an appointment so hopefully they’d just note it down anyway! I think I’ve accepted it’s a mc honestly, I feel fine I’m quite an unoptimistic and negative person so I’m just like oh okay 🤣

Vanilla90 · 20/01/2025 05:45

@BGxxx how are you doing this morning? Are you still spotting?

BGxxx · 20/01/2025 06:39

@Vanilla90 it seems to have stopped! I’ve still got cramps, and for some reason like full term cervix pain? Like the shooting pains

Vanilla90 · 20/01/2025 07:35

@BGxxx ah great news! So glad! Yeah, I had exactly the same at 4 weeks, period like cramps and shooting pains, then it eased off after week 5.

CabbageFan · 20/01/2025 08:02

The test today was a very clear negative. I actually went and phoned our maternity clinic instead of the GP directly, because the nurses are way nicer and less overworked there 🫢 The nurse was actually able to sign me up for a gynecologist on wednesday. I'm not even hoping to be pregnant anymore, I just want my periods back so that this neverending PMS could be over!

Vanilla90 · 20/01/2025 08:04

@CabbageFan sorry about your negative. Good that they got you an appointment though! Hopefully they can give you some answers. The GP would have taken forever to get you a referral.

Ah good glad that’s normal, it was only 2 years ago I was pregnant but I can’t remember it at all really 🤣

I’m just going to see how things go, my tests look darker again so hopefully it was just some normal early pregnancy bleeding. I find it so hard to be optimistic

@CabbageFan good news about the appointment! I hate ringing the gp, why are the receptionists so mean

Ladyinpink1 · 20/01/2025 08:20

Congratulations 🎊@BGxxx Your pregnancy test photos all look very dark and I'm glad the bleeding has stopped now, I'm sure that was really stressful x

That makes sense @Vanilla90 I feel the same,my mmc were 9.5 and 12 but when scanned it seems both of mine stopped growing at the exact same time, so knowing that, if I ever fell pregnant again, I would also book a scan for after that time period to be able to feel any reasurrance.
I feel positive for you and hope these weeks fly in. Are you still feeling sick? x

@Figtree11 how are you? I hope you continued with a normal period and have positive ovulation soon. How is your sickness? x

@CabbageFan I'm sorry about the negative test, it never gets any easier to see, does it? 😔 Think I am out too, again, no cramps or any signs.
Good you have an appointment, let us know how you get on x

@Ladyinpink1 thank you! I just feel on edge but I feel like that’s too be expected anyway

CabbageFan · 21/01/2025 08:04

Woke up last night to pee and noticed that I'd gotten a visit from the menstruation fairy , finally🧚‍♀️ I think I jinxed my period back by scheduling the doctor's appointment and wearing new white panties lol
Now I'm 50/50 about if I should go tomorrow anyways or cancel. Part of me wants to get to the root of this, because imo there's a potential problem building up. My cycle has gotten increasingly irregular. The last three have gone from 34-35 days to being 28, 37 and now 48 days long. That's quite the change from my pre-miscarriage 30 days 😕 Not to mention that I've had several day long mid-cycle bleeding on every single cycle, acne which I've never had to this extent and some other minor issues. But another part of me fears just being told the standard "it's normal, here's a hormonal contraceptive as a magical cure because you can't have issues if you don't have a menstrual cycle at all 👍" and that's what's making me want to cancel 😩

Figtree11 · 21/01/2025 10:32

@BGxxx congratulations, hope all is well now

@Ladyinpink1 im ok, still feel sick every now & then but not too bad. booked in for reflexology with a fertility specialist on Sat. Not expecting much, but a nice way to relax.

@CabbageFan sorry I might have missed the message, but how long ago was your MC? I know my cycles were all over the place after loss. I have subsequently been diagnosed with PCOS, but never had a regular 30 day cycle like you have before. If you have an appt already, I’d still go. It might give you a bit of peace of mind

CabbageFan · 22/01/2025 09:08

@Figtree11 it was in july.

I just came back from the appointment. I got just the doctor that I was hoping for. She took my concerns very seriously. She found nothing in my uterus ovaries, but ordered blood tests. She also prescribed me some medication that I need to take for the next three cycles. Hopefully it will stabilize them or at least get rid of the mid-cycle bleeding. I'm happy that I went!

What medication did you get please?
I don't know if you class mine as mid cycle bleeding, but I get spotting from cd21 (out of a 27 day cycle).
I had bloods done this morning too, and now trying to get them done of cd21 and 22, which is tough!

I'm just patiently waiting for ovulation, last 3 cycles it has been cd13 but it is cd13 today and no sign, not even a flashing smiley on my ovulation detector 🤷🏻‍♀️ not sure what to make of it .

BGxxx · 22/01/2025 09:28

@carolinep3 do you bleed all the way from cd21 to your period?

CabbageFan · 22/01/2025 09:42

@carolinep3 I got 10mg dydrogesterone. I'm supposed to take it once a day for ten days starting from cd15, and continue that for three months.

carolinep3 · 22/01/2025 09:50

BGxxx · 22/01/2025 09:28

No not always, I just spot a small bit from cd21 to day cd26 then make have a day of nothing then af. Happened for last 3 cycles, but not this one, just had spotting cd21 and then af cd24. Weird.

@CabbageFan what does that medication do? Haven't heard of that one. Have they said the cause of the mid cycle
Spotting?
My fertility specialist and doctor said they need to do bloods to see what might be causing it before giving anything.
I'm also doing a microbiome uterine blood test. I've had two blood tests this morning and then two
More 2 week.

Here's what it says online: "Dydrogesterone is a synthetic progesterone for menstrual cycle regulation, infertility treatment, prevention of miscarriage, and other conditions." I read that sometimes it's prescribed together with estrogen, depending on what you need it for.
My doctor thought that perhaps I'm not producing enough progestrone and that's causing the bleeding, but we'll see if the blood tests change her opinion. The tests are for prolactin (I guess because I quit nursing a year ago?) and thyroid, as well as the basic hemoglobin etc, because I have a history of anemia.

Vanilla90 · 22/01/2025 10:38

@CabbageFan glad your gp appointment went well and they're actually doing something! So annoying when they just brush you off. Hopefully you can see some results soon

@BGxxx no more spotting still? 🤞

@Ladyinpink1 I'm okay, thank you. Sickness is ramping up a bit, but I won't complain. How are you doing?

@Figtree11 how are you finding your new cycle?

BGxxx · 22/01/2025 10:59

@carolinep3 that is odd, I used to spot for 5 days before periods but it stopped after the first time I got pregnant

@Vanilla90 no thank god, I think it was from sex 🤣 I’m guessing it irritated my cervix so I’m assuming it’s okay to have sex still?

Vanilla90 · 22/01/2025 11:03

@BGxxx yeah probably, I find my cervix is a lot more sensitive now, I am very aware of it during sexy time 🤣 they say it's fine and normal during pregnancy.
