Friendly/supportive/sensitive thread 🌱

Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

Happy new year ladies - I hope this is the one you all get your BFPs! 🤞

Still no sign of any cycle happening for me unfortunately despite taking a whole pharmacy of supplements so I think it’s just a case of waiting it out until I can get on Clomid/letrozole (can be referred in May). Being back at work after the holidays is a big incentive to do anything I can to get maternity leave though 😂

@Figtree11 I take metformin too, along with inositol. I only take 1000mg though, I’ve gone up to 2000mg several times and it always ends up with me quitting it entirely because of the side effects, so I stick to a lower dose to be pragmatic. Can’t say I’ve noticed any benefit at any dose though 😒

Figtree11 · 06/01/2025 12:40

@erihskreb 1500g is the max dose I will be taking, so will see how I feel tomorrow after I start the last tablet, expecting sickness to come back! Past 2 days on 1000g I’ve felt fine. I’m sorry you haven’t noticed any difference using it.
I had ovulation signs last week & my cycles are usually 6/7 weeks long & I got pregnant twice so I am hoping it works for me (both ended in loss) Hope it’s not too long til you can try clomid or letrozole. When was your last AF?

@BGxxx doing ok thank you, if I did indeed ovulate then AF is due in around a week. Hope you are doing ok - the no tracking has worked for me before, both times I got pregnant I didn’t use opks

@PoppyGirl222 i didn’t want to not reply, but I’m not actually sure. 5 days after ovulation does sound early for implantation. Unfortunately the only way to know for certain is wait until your period is due

erihskreb · 06/01/2025 13:09

@Figtree11 are you on the slow release version? I definitely found that had less side effects than the standard one. Fingers crossed it works for you! Once you’ve conceived you might be able to stop it as well (unless you are diabetic/prediabetic) - my dr said she would stop it by 12 weeks pregnant IIRC. If I ever get that far of course! I had bleeding induced by medroxyprogesterone 21-28th November, then some more bleeding 4-6th December, no sign of any more yet - last spontaneous period before that was in August. I’ve been tracking my BBT for about 6 weeks now and it hasn’t shown any real pattern although I do need to start waking up at a more consistent time!

PoppyGirl222 · 06/01/2025 15:24

@Figtree11 Thanks for taking taking the time, i appreciate it. Time will tell i guess. x

Figtree11 · 06/01/2025 20:12

@erihskreb I’m just on the standard version. Will give it a few weeks & see how the symptoms go. I’m under the care of recurrent miscarriage clinic & I’ve been told to stay on it through all pregnancy as apparently it reduces change of miscarriage for women with pcos. So hopefully my body gets used to taking it as it will be a long road! I’m sorry you’re having a tough time with your cycles - it is so frustrating. I’ve been feeling annoyed to why I’m not pregnant yet, but I’ve only had 3 shots at getting pregnant, yet someone with regular cycles would have had 6 shots at it

@PoppyGirl222 good luck, hope you get some positive news soon

BGxxx · 06/01/2025 20:57

@Figtree11 hope the next week speeds past for you!! That’s so fustrating that you’ve only had half the chances to get pregnant, I was watching a tiktok the other day and the lady only had 2 cycles last year!! I can’t imagine how annoying that must be

Ladyinpink1 · 06/01/2025 21:30

How was your first commute day back? @Figtree11 I started my healthy eating today 🙂 Glad you are feeling good, hoping taking the extra meds hasn't had any effect x

Hi @PoppyGirl222 That could be a good sign, and ovulation might have been a little earlier... but don't want to unnecessarily raise your hopes either as it might just be a random thing... it's so tough not knowing either way but it sounds like you dtd at the right time x

I'm sorry @erihskreb That's so tough. Do you know how long you will have to wait for the medication? x

PoppyGirl222 · 06/01/2025 21:41

@Ladyinpink1
Thank so much for replying. The more i read on here the more i learn. Next month (if it doesn’t work this time i mean) do i need to dtd a couple of days before the line gets really dark? Some people online say it’s better to before than at the actual time of ovulation. x

Vanilla90 · 06/01/2025 22:19

@Ladyinpink1 how long does it take for the impryl to start working?
Are you still waiting on your appointment?
I am trying to eat healthy too. An apple just doesn't taste as nice as a chocolate bar though 😂

@PoppyGirl222 they say your most fertile days are the two days leading up to ovulation and ovulation day itself, so sounds like you timed it well!

@BGxxx thank you! How have you found not tracking? Do you feel less stressed? This last year has honestly been the most stressful time of my life 🥲

@BGxxx do you think you will test next week? In a way, if AF does arrive for you, at least it would indicate that the medication is having an effect?
But of course we would much prefer a BFP!!🤞

@erihskreb your comment about being back at work after the holidays is a big incentive for maternity leave made me laugh because I was thinking this last week 😂 returning to work after Xmas is like the feeling we had as children going back to school after the 6 week summer hols.
I hope you see some improvement with your cycles soon, it must be tough you.

@Jess1066 have you got your peak yet?!

PoppyGirl222 · 06/01/2025 22:25

@Vanilla90 Thank you for that. I guess time will tell then. Gosh I’m only starting out this journey and i’m feeling impatient at the thought of waiting. It’s so frustrating that my body has literally been black or white for like 30+ yrs but as soon as i need the clarification it finds a whole rainbow in between to muck around with. I’ve never had anything other that period or no period there’s been nothing in between. I love how close you all are with each other. It’s so lovely x

Figtree11 · 07/01/2025 19:22

@BGxxx its the worst 😔tired of it all now

@Vanilla90 i stupidly did a test today at 8dpo, as I don’t know when I actually did ovulate (if I did at all) and I need to know to start progesterone. Of course it was a bfn. It’s reminded me why I don’t early test as I feel miserable. So will wait now til early next week. Yeah if AF shows at least I’ll be able to properly see if the medication helps shorten the next cycle as on full dose now. Hope you are ok

@Ladyinpink1 it feels like I’ve never not been off work now 😆 was going to healthy eat, but was a tub of chocolates left in the office that we’re now finishing off! Feeling ok (touch wood) on full dose so far. How are you?

BGxxx · 07/01/2025 21:13

@Vanilla90 it’s nice not tracking, I’m probably mid way through my cycle now but no signs of ovulation so assuming it’ll be another 30+ cycle! Are you still testing?

@Figtree11 do you only need the progesterone if pregnant or after ovulation??

Figtree11 · 07/01/2025 21:23

@BGxxx once I get a positive pregnancy test. Had to use it in my second pregnancy & it didn’t help so not holding much hope onto it helping

carolinep3 · 07/01/2025 21:29

Hi, I would really like to join please.
I'm finding ttc quite tough on the mental health.
I know it can be more relaxing not to track etc but I did that for the first 2 months and it didn't work. I have quite an obsessive personality so I just can't help if.
I am ttc out third child, first two I was lucky enough to conceive pretty much first cycle.
I'm 8dpo and spotting today so know I'm out for this month.
I have a new ridiculous plan for next month , full of raspberry leaf tea, grapefruit juice and water Grin
Just helps me to get over the disappointment but having a new plan!

Vanilla90 · 08/01/2025 09:31

@PoppyGirl222 I don't think you take much notice of your body until you TTC. You notice every little thing. Also, when you're on contraception for so long, you forget what is normal for your body. I don't ever remember noticing these things 10 years ago!

@Figtree11 I'm sorry it's negative ☹️ it is still early though. In the past I haven't had a faint line until the day before AF was due. Early testing is the worst, yet we can't help ourselves!
Still no sickness with the medication?🤞

@BGxxx not tracking is definitely less stressful!
Nooo I am not testing anymore. I cannot be obsessing over whether the lines are getting darker/lighter. It was quite a strong line when I tested anyway, so I'm leaving it at that and hoping for the best.

@carolinep3 is welcome to the group! TTC really is not for the faint hearted. Your plan doesn't sound ridiculous! Anything is worth a try, it can't hurt. Are you taking any vitamins?

Hi, yes I'm taking prenatal, coq and considering b6 for creating more EWCM.

Vanilla90 · 08/01/2025 11:02

@carolinep3 drinking more water on fertile days deffo helps cm too!

Figtree11 · 08/01/2025 20:58

@Vanilla90 i feel like because I don’t know for sure if I ovulated that I needed to test to check. But now I’m not going to bother! I know some people find early testing useful, but I prefer to wait for AF to arrive usually. Then it’s just 1 day of disappointment instead of a few leading up to it.
I thought yesterday I was doing pretty good with the sickness from Metformin, yet today I’ve felt rubbish!
How are you doing, hope you’re doing ok? It’s nice to have you to chat to still on here

@carolinep3 i’m sorry you’re finding things tough at the moment. I think having a plan is a good idea, TTC is so out of our control, being able to reclaim that somehow helps a bit

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

I'm just impatient waiting for cd1 so I can start again!

BGxxx · 08/01/2025 21:30

@Vanilla90 I was so bad for testing in my last pregnancy, I was obsessed 🤣 I’d hope I wouldn’t do it again this time but I definitely would! Will you a September due date? Xx

Vanilla90 · 08/01/2025 21:50

@Figtree11 These early detection pregnancy tests should not have been invented lol.
Are you on your highest dose of Metformin yet?
If AF does arrive, will you track next cycle? Can you use opks?
It's nice to still have you lovely ladies to chat to! I just feel a bit numb to it really, haven't allowed myself to get excited yet. Sickness is starting to kick in, I didn't have this with the previous two which ended in loss, so hopefully it's a good sign. Time will tell I guess.

@BGxxx you made me paranoid and I did another test to check the line progression, then I sat there wishing I hadn't... but luckily it was ok and it's very dark lol
What week did you test up until? 😂
Yeah, around 7th September. My birthday is in September too 🙄

BGxxx · 10/01/2025 11:02

Have any of you had ovulation spotting before?? I’m presuming this is what it is, I have ewcm too

Vanilla90 · 10/01/2025 11:05

Yes, I I have had it a few times mixed in with ewcm. Usually it's the day before ovulation and the day of ovulation for me.
Looks like it's time to get busy with your partner 🤣

Figtree11 · 10/01/2025 11:14

@Vanilla90 yeah im on the max dose of Metformin now. Hopefully symptoms settle down & I get used to it.
Looks like AF is on the way 😔 Got cramps & spotting. This happened in December for a few days but never turned into a period. I am so worried the same will happen again & that there is something wrong.
Yeah definitely going to track with opks to see what’s going on with my cycle.
Pregnancy after loss is so hard, I know exactly how you feel. It’s very difficult. But really hope it all works out. Hope you aren’t feeling too sick (but then again it’s good to have the symptoms!)

@BGxxx personally haven’t had that myself but have read it does happen to quite a few women

@Ladyinpink1 hope you are ok

BGxxx · 10/01/2025 11:22

@Vanilla90 I’ve never had it before! I was going to do an LH test but I’m trying to be good 🤣🤣
