Moving over from lurking on TTC Aug 2024, as AF just arrived yesterday. Anyone else joining?

Just a random question, out of interest really. Do you think it’s possible I ovulated 2 days later than Natural Cycles predicted? I did have a rise, but then a dip 2 days later and another rise? I’m just wondering as it would explain why my tests have been lighter. It would make me 12dpo today instead of 14

edited to add: I also had a UTI around these days that I needed antibiotics for, so I wonder if they made my temp artificially higher early? Or delayed ovulation a day or 2?

Edited

What did your LH tests say on the last one?

i had a similar dip when I conceived in Jan.

Mummysparrow · 18/09/2024 20:12

It appears my period is on its way. I had a LH surge today at 12dpo which I get a day or two before my period. I am also a grouchy bitch this evening 😂 oh well on to the next cycle

I am not sure as I stopped doing LH tests before the first rise. I’m just wondering if illness delayed it

At least you can recognise your grouchiness 🤣

It's more of a pink line in real life but doesn't show on a photo very well.

@EagerBiscuit I see it! How many DPO are you? This looks like my test I did at 10dpo (which could have been 8dpo)

AnonAnom940 · 19/09/2024 09:18

@EagerBiscuit this looks like what I got this morning. Really faint. 11dpo

I'm not sure 🙈😅 i decided to just see what happens this month and not use OPKs. I had a metallic taste in my mouth at the beginning of the week and had some uncomfortable abdominal pulling pains yesterday.
By app AF is due next week so I'll just keep testing over the next few days and see if it gets any darker.

Hope you're doing well 💗

Bit of a lurker on this thread but I just needed a rant. 11dpo or so today and stark white tests, so I'm feeling hopeless now for this cycle. More annoyed than anything else actually. I chucked the test across the room into the bin in a rage. We did everything we could this month to give us the best chance.
I have clearly gone a bit bonkers as was sure this month was the one for us. My body has tricked me with all the weird things I've been feeling this past week (PMS sucks but I really was convinced things were different this month. I've had back ache, sorer boobs than ever and tingly nipples that I used to get when breastfeeding. All of things are not my normal PMS symptoms)!!!

Hope everyone is doing OK and good luck to those with promising tests!

Hi everyone! Joining this even though I’m not usually one for forums.

Bit of a weird time isn’t it? I don’t want to tell anyone but equally want advice!

I am 36 (37 in November), same with husband. We have been holding off because of work drama but kinda just want to get on with it now.

I went to a private clinic and had the full tests last December which were all good and I had a high egg reserve which was nice and a relief. Husband hasn’t done tests yet but we have an at home sperm test to try this month.

I’m being as healthy as poss, drinking minimal amounts and trying to get my fitness levels to a high level too

I have been tracking with Flo for the last year and periods are nice and regular on the dot now.

Ovulation is next week, meant to be Tuesday.

I have for the first time bought the smiley face tests which I’m going to do along with having sex every other day from this Saturday for 1 week.

Also been taking Coq10 for the last 2-3 weeks (got them in the US so extra strength I hope!). Husband isn’t taking anything and does have a very social job, but let’s see how we get on.

Does this sound about right to everyone?! Please let me know if there is anything else to consider.

I am praying it is pretty quick if not I will go to the doctors in December.

We don’t really have to ‘try’ for things really so it’s a bit of a weird feeling and concept! As is having forced sex - hoping that we will just get on with it. I really love him and we are really great…but just don’t usually have to have forced sex 😂

good luck to everyone 🩷

Toppstileslover · 19/09/2024 21:45

Also agree with whoever said that they don’t know how everyone gets pregnant or how there are so many people on the planet when it’s so hard 😂

Yes to this! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, this is so hard 😩

34 years old, been TTC #1 since January this year. When I look at my apps I think realistically we've been on target for 7 months - and I mean like really really perfect months.

I just had my bloody taken for hormone panel and awaiting the results, praying everything is ok and this is just normal.

Hope everyone is doing ok ❤️
I feel guilty sometimes for taking this so hard as everything else in life is pretty good.

CoolSummer89 · 20/09/2024 07:57

@Nay34 @Toppstileslover yea i am 35 also been trying since January. Where I am in London I don’t think I would be considered an old mum (except to healthcare professionals 😅) and when I see all the pregnant women around me I want to ask them how old they are and how long they tried. I stop myself obvs.

@Toppstileslover sounds like you are prepped and have a good base. Sperm counts tend to be lower these days so it wouldn’t harm for your partner to take a supplement such as Proceive. Although it has really made my husband’s bathroom antics stink just to warn you! But if he’s getting analysis soon you might as well wait until after that. Best of luck!

CoolSummer89 · 20/09/2024 08:10

11dpo today and BFN. Next cycle will be the last that I use LH tests because I signed up to the Premom premium and I get all the money back I spent on easy @ home tests if I’m not pregnant within 9 cycles of trying, so that’s a silver lining. My cycle is so regular that I think I can just go on BBT to confirm ovulation. My husband gets his sperm analysis next month, so hopefully we’ll know more about what we’re working with.
best of luck to everyone still in the TWW this cycle.

Cookiedough123 · 20/09/2024 14:14

I am either 6 or 7 DPO today. Not really feeling much tbh. I feel sick today but have ate a lot of chocolate so could be that 😂.
I did a test this morning and it was negative (obviously! 😂).

This is baby #2 for us and we were very lucky to conceive on our first month of trying. I know that isn’t always the case. In my previous pregnancy I had a very faint positive on the evening of day 8 so no doubt I will try another test tomorrow morning and night!

I told myself I wouldn’t serial test but it’s a little bit addictive!

Mummysparrow · 20/09/2024 15:02

So I am back at cd1, well hopefully I am as the blood has started but not full flow yet. Anyone else who has longer cycles? I had 28 day cycles before I had my daughter in 2021 and then they changed to 29 to 34 before I fell pregnant in February and they are still settled down after my loss. 38 day cycle followed by 35 days so I am hoping this cycle is shorter again as ovulating after cd20 is killing me. I have had my hormones checked and I have just started some very expensive vitamins so hoping they help.

Read Expecting Better by Emily Oster. You are doing what a lot of women do which is waiting for ovulation to have sex. You need to be having sex in the days before ovulation not after. If your DH's swimmers are quick you might get lucky this month but for future start having sex from 10 days after period starts until Day 16. As far as possible have sex every day. Frequent sex >>>> ovulation tracking.

Startingafamily · 20/09/2024 23:05

I did get pregnant this month but unfortunately it was a chemical pregnancy 💔 what's worse is that my best friend and sister both found out they're pregnant this month and I feel selfish for being upset. Had a really awful period afterwards. Atleast I can get drunk on holiday next month 🙃

Hi there, just wanted to say that COQ10 actually delayed my ovulation by about 5/7 days. I stopped taking them this cycle and used preseed. Also dtd according to the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan). We managed to conceive. I’m sure it’s not down to one thing only but if you’re looking for anything else to try. Hope you get your bfp soon 🤍

Toppstileslover · 21/09/2024 20:18

thank you so much everyone! 🩷

I am in London to whoever said that (still working out replies!) and thankfully that means in the scheme of things I am still very young 😂 I have to say the advancement of Hertility etc has been amazing because I’ve been able to do all of the tests (aside from the internal ones I had at the clinic) at home which has been soooo reassuring.

Thank you very much for the DTD before ovulation info! No one tells you this! Makes total sense to do it before - we DTD last night (but first time this month so the swimmers are likely sleeping) and will get going tomorrow again 😂 it is quite funny and extremely unromantic alas we will do it!

my friend in Canada recommended preseed actually, I will order for next month!

adding BFP to the dictionary too

sorry for those without results - keep going 💘

Cookiedough123 · 22/09/2024 06:57

I’m either 8 or 9DPO. Premom had me as 8 but I’m pretty sure I ovulated a day earlier than it put me due to missing my peak. I have just tested and there is a very very faint line. So keeping my fingers crossed 🤞
