Maybe a nice shiny new thread will get us all enthusiastic again. I am on my rubbish diet so I only have nuts and beans to put out on the table. Oh and gin of course ;o) Anyone got any cakes to tempt me with?

Ding ding....let's...go

Do you think I have gone a bit mad

Caitni · 07/07/2008 16:46

Bucky just seen your post, you tres drole femme you. Now go off and relax!

ScaryHairy · 07/07/2008 16:53

Hi Caitni - it was a teeny tiny bit of spotting. Maybe I should stop scrutinising the loo roll...

Bucky - you are on holiday, shouldn't you be off scoffing crepes or something? We'll all still be here when you get back you know! (not that it's not lovely to hear from you)

PicknMix · 07/07/2008 17:33

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I'm back home again yay!

Had a fab, if wet, time..... Twas raining everyday - and the day we decided to go hiking it absolutely poured down . We were up on some moor somewhere with no shelter and the wind was so strong the rain was coming down horizontal. I'm just about dried out now though ! I have come back with a numb leg though - the skin on the front of my leg is completely numb from knee to toe. Spoke to my mum (shes a physio) and she said its a weird sensory prob and said, quite matter of factly, "quite often the feeling never comes back but it doesn't matter because you don't really need it, only to feel if you've stuck a pin in yourself or something" !!

Anyway, enough of me.....

SH slapped back of the legs for you for testing so early . Although I'm very excited about your spotting

GG you'll have to let us know what you think of the hypno cd - am beginning to think SH should be getting comission as I too am thinking of purchasing a copy! Did you have a good time away?

Caitni Sorry to hear af arrived. Its rubbish isn't it? Did you have a fab time at the hen weekend though? PS - I secretly love all the tent/outdoors/DofE exploits..... was a scout leader in NZ and, being a little more relaxed over there, managed to get up to all sorts of crazy wilderness-y stuff, brilliant!!

Get back to the crepes Bucky!!! Hope you're having a très fabuleux time?!

Have a good time at the Tattoo Ei - agree with the others that perhaps you will need to test before you go.

How are you feeling today my CB MOB? Was a bit worried to read your traumas so hope all is sorting itself out now?

Hello to all the pregnant ladies! How are you all feeling?

I went for my second blood test today. Have made an appt to have a phone consultation on Thurs to get the results and am now really worried. Next fews days are going to be loooong!

Hello to all those I've missed - I feel I've waffled far too much now!!

ScaryHairy · 07/07/2008 21:54

Hi PnM welcome back. It sounds like you had a lovely time with all that fresh air. And don't worry about your leg. You don't need it anyway, you've got another one .I was going to tell you off for slapping my legs but since I have just peed on another stick I think you should come over here and confiscate my tests. (and when I dismantled it, held it to the light and squinted think there was a feint line but hey ho, I still need a telling off).Good luck with the blood tests.

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 07/07/2008 22:47

hi ladies
hope you are all doing well
PnM glad you enjoyed your camping holiday
scary i do the same thing! POAS early and dismantle the test (how else are you meant to hold it to the light!!) good luck with testing again over the next day or 2!!
MOB im glad things are starting to settle down for you
caitni im glad you had a nice weekend away
judith GG another break away for you you should buy yourself a little plane/campervan to save on the accomodation/travel expense!! sounds like you are singlehandedly keeping the travel buisness afloat
hi to all our preggos lurking
nothing new from me yet i will be out bulk buying tests tomorrow i think and doing them in the morning on thursday and in the services and the campsite. thats all depending on AF staying away that is
xx ei xx

PicknMix · 07/07/2008 23:34

Hang on hang on.... Did I just read that right that you got a faint line on an hpt sh??

Am I allowed to get secretly very excited for you?! When are you testing again? I was going to offer to do a midnight flit to chez sh to confiscate the offending tests but now I'm impatient to hear if you're gonna do a test with fmu tomorrow?!

Have my fingers crossed for you ei for thursday as well .

Gosh, its getting exciting in here at the mo!

ScaryHairy · 08/07/2008 07:45

No you're not allowed to be excited PnM. I did another with FMU this morning and it was (not surprisingly since I am at 8dpo!) a BFN.

Am starting to think that bulk buying HPTs is not such a great idea...

No more testing until Friday at least. I do feel tired, crampy and a bit weepy but TBH that could be because I am stressed with life in general (not helped by my daughter weeing on the sofa at 5:30 this morning).

Sorry for the me me me post, will have more time to catch up with you all later I hope.

GorgonsGin · 08/07/2008 08:48

Morning all

Hello picknmix* - I am PMSL at you jumping up and down on one leg in excitement. Glad to hear the camping was fun despite the horizontal rain. Sorry to hear about the numb leg . Did you get frostbite or hit it or something? the weather sounds much like my previous experiences of camping in the driving rain in Scotland with only midges for miles around. I remember vividly that we ate nothing but bacon cooked in mess tins and lumps of cheese because they didn't leak/soak up water/melt/get crushed to smithereens. Good luck with the phone consultation - we'll be thinking of you, so keep us updated. Don't get too nervous.

scaryhairy - slapped legs for you! Although spotting and a faint line can only be good, right? Everything crossed for you for another super dark BFP line. Don't test again until next week. We are practically cycle buddies (I think you are 2 days ahead of me this cycle. Despiet DH's swimmers needing zimmers, I can't help getting excited (and then disappointed ) every month. MOB's stories of her friends make me live in hope - like winning the lottery might happen to me. How is your daughter now - is she feeling absultely fine again after her illness. Sorry to hear about your sofa!

Bucky have a lovely holiday in France. I think i am about due for my next trip....

heloo to caitni Ei MOB and all the others. lou good luck for your HSG on Friday and please let us know how it goes. Thinking of you!

Caitni · 08/07/2008 10:58

SH slight spotting and a faint line - if I had signs like those on the tww I would be POAS like a loon so I'm hoping that when you test again Thurs/Fri you'll get a nice strong BFP. I know it's early days but can't help joining PnM in getting a teensy bit excited for you...I

Ei Yet more POAS action from you - so hoping you get good news on Thurs. God, it's exciting in here with you and SH... GG I love your vivid recollections of the horrors of camping in Scotland - v funny! And you're totally normal to live in hope each cycle - I know people always say it but it does only take one little sperm... I'd CD7 and am yet again looking forward to the whole round of ups and downs

PnM so glad you had a great time despite the weather and lol at your mum's advice (my own mum is also of that "ah well, cop yourself on what doesn't kill you etc" school of advice). I bet you did loads of cool wilderness-y stuff in NZ! Fingers crossed for Thur's results - will be thinking of you xx

MOB hope you're feeling better

Bucky hope the weather in France is better than here!

Lou hope things go smoothly for your HSG on Friday

Big hello to everyone I've missed.

I'm on CD7 now and already wondering what day I'll ov on this month. My temps are all over the place (mainly due to a weekend of about six hours of sleep and plenty of grape juice) but I've resisted the urge to discard them just to have a prettier chart. I've got my first acupuncture app this afternoon as well - quite nervous but also excited. Reckon I need something to help me relax but also to help feel like I'm "doing" something to help (to pacify my control freak streak lol).

ScaryHairy · 08/07/2008 19:51

Evening ladies
No news from me at all. I refuse to test again for at least a couple of days. might even see if I can hold off until Friday (because that's really likely)
How was the acupuncture Caitni? Where did you go for it in the end?
I'm glad I'm not the only obsessive Ei!
Hope you're feeling better MOB GG I know what you mean about getting excited even when you think there's no chance. I do it too, even if there's been no action around the right time. I'm an HPT manufacturer's dream... And my daughter is ok, thanks, but the sofa is trashed. I'll get it recovered one day but maybe not until I am finished having babies!

Hello to the rest of you, Picknmix, Mibbes, Hatty, Bucky and anyone else who happens to be about. Hope you're all well.

Caitni · 08/07/2008 23:32

SH well done you for deciding not to test again for a few days! Still crossing my fingers for a BFP for you and everyone else at an exciting time of their cycle...acupuncture was cool - really good to chat to someone about my cycles and charts etc. I feel a lot better for having had it and am looking forward to next Tue's session. I went to that place up in Exmouth Market.

Anyway, enough me me me - time for bed. Night everyone
xx

ScaryHairy · 09/07/2008 07:43

Caitni Good - I'm really glad you liked it. I was beginning to think my liking for having needles stuck in various bits of me was some kind of worrying masochistic streak... Did he stick any in your ears? I find those a bit stingy! The best bit about acupuncture for me, though, is feeling like I am taking some control of my situation. Let's hope it pays dividends.

Caitni · 09/07/2008 09:38

He did stick ones in my ears! And I didn't even feel them going in...it's funny but I almost energy moving around in me today. Like parts of my body have woken up. Anyway, off to a work away day so no interweb for me.
C
x

GorgonsGin · 09/07/2008 10:57

oooh, Caitni and scary, you've reminded me about booking my appointment at the acupunturist. I was also going to go to the one you recommended in Exmouth Market. They'll be inundated with 2WW-ers desperate for BFP's . The power of Mumsnet, eh?

I want to start acupuncture because i need to kick start my body before the physical and mental rigours of IVF. They recommended on the website that you should get started with the needles a few months ahead, so now's the time. I was also when the Consultant said that she thought I might have PCO's and acupuncture is supposed to help that, I read. Although PCO's doesn't quite feel right to me, as hormones/blood tests were all fine, cycle is perfect, no nasty symptoms like acne or hirsuteness and another doctor gave each of my three ovarian scans (start, middle, end of cycle ) the thumbs up .

hope everyone else is well and enojoying the ...erm...lovely weather we've been having recently.

Happy Wednesdays to everyone. I am CD21 today...when do you think I can test?!

GorgonsGin · 09/07/2008 11:12

Just booked an accupuncture appointment for next Tuesday! Very excited .

Now...how do I persuade DH to go too...?

Madoldbird · 09/07/2008 14:34

Good afternoon ladies

SH are you still holding off testing? Must be so, so hard for you, but if you can wait a day or so you may get a more accurate result. I have everything crossed for you. X

Bucky hope you are having a lovely time, and that it is chaud et ensoleille, and that you are having a verre de vin or two.

PnM glad you had a lovely, if wet holiday. Thinking of you getting your results tomorrow.

GG have you planned which day to test yet?! The acupuncture sounds like it will be a good idea, and it seems to work really well in support of IVF. I feel i need to book some now, just so i don't feel left out!!!

EI good luck if you do decide to test tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

Caitni It's sounds like the acupuncture is having a really positive effect on you. Hope your away day is going ok.

Hello to everyone else! DH will hopefully get his results tomorrow. If they're ok i'll book in for tests.

PicknMix · 09/07/2008 18:40

Evening all,

How are you all doing?

MOB fingers are firmly crossed for your DH's results tomorrow. How are you feeling now?

GG yay for the ac appt! My mum has offered to do some accupuncture on me for my leg but I'm such a wuss that I declined......! See if you can get some literature when you go to your appt re 'accupuncture and man fertility' as your DH responds well to factual evidence doesn't he?

Caitni hows the rest of your day gone? Is the energy still running through your veins!? Sounds a positive first appt!

Good luck if you're testing tomorrow Ei

Still feeling good for you SH (although not so good about the wee on the sofa, oops!). Get DH to hide your hpt stash somewhere so you can't test until the weekend then hopefully you'll get a bfp that doesn't require holding under every light in the house !!

I have just cheated and rung my surgery for a sneak preview of my test results. So wish I hadn't as now I feel all confused. Basically they've all come back as 'normal/no further action' so I got the receptionist to read out the actual amounts and none of it makes sense!

I know I should just wait until my appt tomorrow and now I feel all emotional as I can just tell that she's gonna say "well there's nothing we can do as its all normal so come back again in a year" yet I really think there is something wrong. I'm getting ahead of myself here and am acting irrationally but I just know all is not well.

Will ask about getting a SA tests for DH tomorrow as well.

Sorry blah blah blah its all about me.....

ScaryHairy · 09/07/2008 19:07

Evening ladies

PnM don't let them fob you off. Those blood tests might have come back normal, but as I understand it they should do more than one set and also look at your DH. Why don't you post a thread asking Atilla what should be done? I'm sure you can get some useful tips. And if your GP does not know what to do she should refer you to a specialist.

GG well done for booking the needles. It can't do any harm and even if your bits are in perfect nick you can just look on it as a sort of "tune up".

Good luck to Mr MOB for tomorrow.

Unfortunately my DH is not around to confiscate my HPTs, so I have just done one, and although it is neither big nor fat I think it might be a positive. I also had a foul taste in my mouth today and cleaned my teeth three times at work!! Am not going to get properly excited until I have a dark positive or an independent witness to these lines (how I wish one of you lived near enough to pop round for a look!), but if it is positive I feel better about this one than I did about the ep. For a start I think I ovd on my non-ep side and I have had no random bleeding. Please cross everything for me though!

If I am right, sales of those hypno CDs are going to skyrocket!!!

ScaryHairy · 10/07/2008 06:48

Where is everybody?

Madoldbird · 10/07/2008 07:22

SH I'm here!!! Feeling v tentatively excited for you - have you done one with FMU??? Will not get properly excited until you tell me i can. Really really got everything crossed though. Keep us posted

PnM yes - there needs to be further investigation. Obv good that blood tests all ok, but it's been over a year now hasn't it? Push for further tests, referral etc. I know it's not easy, but go in there and demand! Thinking of you today. X

Better go and get showered & dressed. Speak to you all later!

ScaryHairy · 10/07/2008 07:32

Yes MOB - it was also very feint, but def appeared within 3 minutes . I am going to buy lots of brands today and have a recheck!

Would be great if I could get a digital result...

Thinking of you today Picknmix

Speak later

PicknMix · 10/07/2008 07:36

I'm here!! Just munching my Fruit n Fibre before work so thought I'd have a little check in!

Ooooooooooooo SH!!!! As MOB says, have you used FMU this morning?? When is your DH back to witness these lines? Gah, I'm excited for you!! Can you get your DD to play a game of 'how many lines can you see'?!

Right, really must leave for work but will try and check in later

Will def try and push with the GP but I just have a really bad feeing about it all. Such a pessimist......

I've been trying since last April/May MOB (13 cycles) but according to gov guidelines they don't have to investigate further than the blood tests until you've been ttc for 2 years.

Ah well, we shall see!

Have a good day everyone x

Caitni · 10/07/2008 10:55

SH omg what exciting news! Have you done any fmu tests today? Good luck with re-testing - I hope you get a big thick BFP today (or even a lovely PREG on a CD Digi) [crossing everything while grinning excitedly for you emoticon]

PnM hope the doc goes well - while it's great that the bloods look good, further tests are needed. Will be checking in later to see how you got on x

MOB you get Mr MOB's results today no? Good luck with that - I'm also crossing fingers for you both.

GG yay for acupuncture! I've also got an app on Tuesday. It's supposed to be excellent for IVF, with proper studies showing the benefits of it. And there are studies showing that it helps with sperm issues too, see things like this. I'm a massive sceptic about alt therapies in general but our goal is to even out my temps and stop pre-AF spotting and shorten AF itself and already my temps are evening out. I'm well on the road to being a convert to acupuncture!

to everyone else - Ei have you started POAS yet? Am hoping this is your month to get a sticky bean xx

GorgonsGin · 10/07/2008 10:58

Picknmix - wait and see what the GP says to you and try not to worry. We're here for you . Are they all the blood tests that you might need? I know what you mean about gut feeling being very powerful and knowing that something isn't right. I can't explain it, but after a few months of us TTC, I had my suspicions that all was not well with DH's swimmers. Hard to put my finger on why and even harder to explain to a GP and still sound rational, but whatever you do, don't let him brush you off. It takes a long, long time to get things moving and you don't want to waste another year. DH went to his GP last December and got a sperm test, but he couldn't do it until middle/end of Jan because we were away for 3 weeks and the Christmas backlog. It took two weeks to get the results over the phone, another week for a GP appointment to discuss them, another test two weeks later, a two week wait for the results, follow up GP appointment for referral to fertility unit, waiting time for referral and two months of tests. I suppose what I am trying to say is that DH and I took the first GP steps in Dec 2007 and it will be Dec 2008 until we get within ejaculating distance of the IVF unit. I am 33 - not ancient, but no spring chicken in reproductive years and so much time is wasted it makes me so

scary - I am so excited for you!!!! Take a photo of the HPT and post it here - the 2WW ladies will give you our second opinion. Everything crossed for you, but everything sounds so hopeful and (excuse the pun ) positive. Looks like you will be on the apple juice next week!!

MOB - I have everythign crossed for you and your DH's results today. I know how you feel and the nervousness he will be experiencing. Please let us know what happens.

Hello everyone else . Must go and do some work, but will check in later and say helllo and see if there is any update from GP's, test results or (possibly ) a fabulous BFP!!!

GorgonsGin · 10/07/2008 11:15

caitni - we x-posts. I think I may be able to get DH to go for acupuncture. I am really keen he does it. I will go and check it out first and then rave about how wonderful, painless, theraputic it is to him. He's suddenly taking our FTC very seriously, after stickign his head in the sand. I bought a book written in a jokey blokey style by a man about the pain of goign through IVF and being diagnosed with a low sperm count. While it's lighthearted, it's also incredably informative. I've noticed a real difference - he is genuinely shocked and scared at what I am about to go through with IVF. He knows we that we have more of a chance of avoiding IVF if we both do everything we can to be fit and healthy and to aid his swimmers and acupuncture is one of those things he can do, so he's pondering it. He's also very sceptical of "alternative" medicine .

I am so proud of my DH. He hasn't had a drink in three weeks now and has a further six weeks to go. Alcohol free bottles of Becks are a saviour at parties, if anyone needs a top tip. And they are soooo cheap, because they have no duty on them
