Maybe a nice shiny new thread will get us all enthusiastic again. I am on my rubbish diet so I only have nuts and beans to put out on the table. Oh and gin of course ;o) Anyone got any cakes to tempt me with?

Ding ding....let's...go

Do you think I have gone a bit mad

Hello and welcome to GordonsGin - fabulous name, mind if I call you GG for short ? Can totally see your DH's point but glad that he can also see that Mn can be a source of support for you.

Your appt sounds like it actually went very well. Much prefer a succinct, to the point Dr rather than one that waffles their way round the subject. Must feel good to at least have a plan of action now. Although, to echo a certain Mad Old Bird, we'll have none of this defecting to the IVF thread malarky - sure you can join them but don't forget about us .

Speaking of which, MOB am also chuckling re your potential mix up with sandwich bags....could be everso slightly difficult to expalin . Enjoy yourself at the concert, am very !

Yes Bucky, line totally crossed (although I found myself lol'ing so does that make me as crude ). How are your two doggies doing?? Do they fancy joining us on our sponsored walk!? May need something to help drag me up the various hills en route

Hi Mibbes!

Hi Ei - my sis went to see Bon Jovi last week (in London maybe?) and loved it!!

Hope today is going better than yesterday SH?

Apologies to all not mentioned - am supposed to be being Busy and Important but instead am just trawling the net....

See ya xx

Caitni · 24/06/2008 15:37

Oh GordonsGin what an utterly genius GG name!! And sounds like you had a very good and thorough app yesterday. It must be so good to have a plan, and 6 months is not very long - it'll fly! Just enough time to get yourselves ready both physically and mentally. And agree with Mibbes about no harm in practising . And well done on your DH for giving up alcohol - it's going to be tricky, but so worth it. And at your PCO - I didn't know you could have the PCO and not the S [embarassed at ignorance of female reproductive organs emoticon!] - glad it's not anything to worry about. And pls don't leave us entirely for those IVF threaders!

MOB pmsl at the potential picnic mixup! It would, er, be one way to make the concert even more memorable

PnM the internet is also the foil of my best attempts to be Busy and Important...hope blood test went well.

Ei Bon Jovi - wow! Glad you had such a great time. And what an utter star your BF is!

Bucky oooh meet up date works for me And [fingers crossed emoticon] that AF stays away

SH hope today's shaping up to be better than yesterday

Beaniesteve Hope you're staying sane through the TWW

And hello to Mibbes JB and all the other lovely ladies who drop in here!

Had a great time last night, though just cannot be bothered with work today (not a good thing when I've got so much to getting on with at the moment!). Only 5 dpo with me, so no symptoms whatsoever. Nearly fell asleep in a meeting today, which had me slightly going "is that a sign of anything??" though reckon it's a sign the room was stuffy, the meeting was mostly dull and my two strawberry bellinis last night caught up with me!

GorgonsGin · 24/06/2008 17:00

oooh, I am having fun with this name change business . I have always wanted a good pun name, so I tweaked again. I had to look it up, but a Gorgon is (thanks wikipedia )"from Greek Mythology....a vicious female monster with sharp fangs ...her power was so strong that one attempting to look upon her would be turned to stone". Sounds like me, no?

jolly - you are back with us again and if being sick only twice is an improvement, then that's fabulous news . I am sure it cannot last forever and I actually like flat coke/lemonade, so I would be very happy to sip that instead of water. Are you showing yet and apart from the obvious sicky symptoms, are you noticing anything else?

mibbes - hello there up in lovely Jockland?. How are you feeling with the miblet? I definitely intend to have lots of baby creating practice over the six months enforced IVF wait . Who knows, it may be quicker than that (NHS waiting guidelines or something say that is the max)

Bucky - Bgger, I can't do a Brighton meet up on 26th of July (off on my travels again*), although I'm desperate to come along! The South Coast sounds like a wonderful location and handy for lots of us. And I am sure I read that candyfloss and sea air was excellent for EWCM production and ovulation respectively, so everyone would be mad to miss it .

MOB - you always write the nicest posts. You really are brilliant for cheering me up . I won't defect to the IVF-ers thread completely. I will have to symptom spot and endure a 2WW over the next few months 'cause old habits die hard and even with assited conception. But in 6 months time, you will all have graduated with First Class degrees in BFP Studies, and be well on the way with your PhD's in Babies and I'll be left talking to myself for 2 weeks at a time . Have you set a date for the Sperm Dash? We could hold a charity sweepstake in aid of Infertility UK for "Guess The Number of Minutes Between Deposit And Hospital". I pledge £5 and bags 22 minutes

Caitni - OI hope you had a wonderful wedding anniversary and it was suitably romantic . Mmmm, strawberry bellinis. YUMMY . Maybe an Exmouth Market meet up is in order too one sunny evening, if you have a local that serves such delicious beverages . i definitely think nodding off in a meeting is a sign

ei - I am also really at you seeing Bon Jovi. i am a sad old rock chic at heart and I saw them years ago in Glasgow. Brilliant! Did they play Livin' On A Prayer??!!

Scary - did you manage to get through the weekend with the out-laws? I had a thought that if they were bugging you, you could put on the hypnosis CD and see if they absorbed the "relax...relax" messages subliminally and melted to become more bearable . BUT, then it occured to me it could have unwanted side effects and your DH probably wouldn't be chuffed to get a new sibling at his age. I'm afraid i started PMSL on the bus at the thought!! How embarassing They probably thought I was one of those daft old bats who chuckle to themselves, wear tea cosy hats and have flocks of cats . Also, I have decided to speak to acupuncture people and go myself to see if I can be as relaxed as possible for our IVF shot later in the year. I noticed on the website they recommend you start accupuncture a few months before IVF. It can't hurt, and if I like it, I@m going to rave to DH about how wonderful i feel and see if he'll change his mind. The hospital we are going to for IVF actually suggests couples do acupuncture in conjunction.

I had told my DH my posting name and he saw over my shoulder. Naively, i didn't expect a big reaction, but I see his point I guess. I was quite open and he was fine about me posting here up to a point - he thinks I am getting too obsessed, esp in work time and thinks I'll be sacked and he was dead set against any stuff beyond facts about what we are facing in case anything is attributable to him.

Picknmix - good luck with the walk. Any news on jobs and cv's? I bet you will be CEO of some big organisation before you know it. Make sure you check the maternity policy before accepting anything new

I've posted loads today, so will have to dash and do some work

Caitni · 24/06/2008 17:34

GorgonsGin even better than your last GG name but while I'm feeling the power, the fangs don't sound like you ! Let's definitely do an Exmouth Market meet up some time as I so nearly had the same lunch as you on Friday (but then switched to the Moro stand at the last minute - so hard to choose there as TOO much good nosh!). And excellent news about accupuncture. Zita West and co really rate it for IVF in particular, as well as TTC in general.

Bucky2008 · 24/06/2008 19:34

ah you're all drinking too much gin Caitni hun it was ME that was in Exmouth market!

GG Well, you KNOW that anything with gin in it gets my vote...woo hoo. Glad you made some progress, I tried to email you using my blackberry today but you aren't in my address book. When in the office you just come up when I type . Anyway, glad all went as well as can be expected. Six months is a bit pants but you never know....

PnM Decided Molly could try staying out of her crate last night, and she peed, did a poo and ate my new holiday sandals (v. expensive holiday sandals i should add) in the house. I think all the nighttime freedom made her have an anxiety attack . She only sleeps in there now, she is housetrained or at least seemed like it until today . Finn Dog is beautiful and sends a big lick and waves a paw your way....

MOB has the sperm dash not happened yet?? When did the picnic basket thing happen....Oh I am so lost.

Well I am sure I have lots to say to everyone else but DP is nagging me to go out doggy walking....CD26 here. No idea when I ovulated but think it was around CD14/15. So, with an 11 LP AF must be ready to turn up soon....

xx ei xx

Caitni · 25/06/2008 00:13

Bucky too much gin indeed - I need to improve my ability to scan messages better lol Well, an exmouth market meet up with you instead m'dear Saw your pictures of Finn and Molly on your profile btw - so gorgeous! Though chewed up sandles are nae so good...

Ei I LOVE living on a prayer AND blaze of glory (oh, young guns I love it so) so am even more now

Anyway, really must go to bed now.

ScaryHairy · 25/06/2008 08:05

Morning ladies
I had NO idea there was a Moro stand. . Clearly I am going to have to schlep to Exmouth Market at lunchtime one of these days...

Gorgonsgin (or may I call you GG ), I am so glad your appointment went ok, and 6 months is not so very long to wait when you consider that once you get your baby you'll have decades of being a mother. And it's a good opportunity for you and Mr Gin to make sure you are in the best possible shape to have the treatment. Just make sure you stay around here and symptom strop (that was a typo, but so good I left it) regardless... if you're not really ttc anymore, you can be the control (as I was last cycle) and tell us all your non-ttc symptoms. Another excuse to don the white coats! (Also, if you are pissing yourself on buses, maybe it is time to do some pelvic floors, non? )

Ei I used to love JBJ, but now he looks like his face is made of rubber IMO. Very odd, but how cool to go to the concert. Did you lose your voice from singing along? . I think will ov on about Sunday/Monday so maybe we will be 2ww buddies this time.

PnM everytime I am trawling the net my boss comes in so she knows I am not Busy or Important. I really need to stop looking at MN during the day otherwise I will end up the head of the dole queue! When is your walk? How far are you going?

MOB please keep those sandwich bags clearly labelled! Snot came out of my nose when I read what you wrote...

Caitni where did you go for strawberry belinis? sounds lovely...

Hello to the rest, I don't have time for anymore because I have to go to work, but big waves to Mibbes, JB, Beaniestevie and everyone else!

No news here, only I think the hypno CD might be working. Yesterday I ate healthy food. I feel strangely relaxed. And if anyone mentions butter I nod off...

See you all later !

JollyBear · 25/06/2008 12:33

Hello all,

ei Oh Bon Jovi! That takes me back to seeing them at Maine Road as a treat for finishing my GCSEs . What a lovely friend you have being so thoughtful.

GG Love the new name! I'm really pleased that things are moving forward and you will get clomid with your mince pies and brandy butter, followed by a new year BFP . There is a chapter in the Zita West book about IVF and she highly recommends accupuncture. I'm on flat Dr Pepper today!

bucky Your poor sandals . I hope Molly gets you some new ones out of her pocket money. Fingers crossed AF goes AWOL.

PnM Thanks for giving me the dental tip, it might save a few teeth!

scary LOL at you nodding off at the mention of butter!

MOB Your worry about getting mixed up with the picnic reminded me that I once gave my DH some shampoo I decanted into a small bottle I found in the bathroom as he was going on a trip away. When I handed it across he pointed out that the bottle had his name on and was meant for a urine sample he had to take to the Drs. We both looked at the bottle with a blob of white shampoo inside and thought it best he took the big bottle after all. It looked very 'suspicious'!

Hello to everyone else and hugs all round

Thanks for asking after me and jollycub. I'm starting to get a belly and I don't think it is all down to fizzy pop

Caitni · 25/06/2008 15:45

JollyBear how lovely that you're starting to show!

SH ah yes, the mentions of butter triggering sleep is a classic sign that hypnoCD is working

I'm 6 dpo and still utterly symptom-less (though medium tender Bs), and I think it's because I'm still sticking to my promise (just) to not obsess like last month. I'm a bridesmaid at a close friend's wedding this Saturday in Edinburgh, and we're setting off tonight to drive up, breaking the journey in the Lake District so we can see a bit of the countryside (neither of us have been to the Lakes before). That should keep my mind off TWW symptomising, though not looking forward to not being able to drink...

Big hugs and waves to Bucky, MOB, GG, Ei, PnM, BeanieSteve, Mibbes and everyone else.

Off to try and get some work done.

Cxx

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 25/06/2008 23:26

emma2617 · 26/06/2008 09:52

Hello Ladies, can I join you?!

Ei I followed your link in the waiting room!

I was in another 2ww thread but everyone else has either got their BFPs of AF arrived!! I am on CD39 with no AF, 1 faint BFP followed by several BFNs!!

loustillwantsaBFPtoo · 26/06/2008 13:04

Hello - im joining too! Thanks for showing the way Ei!
Have many symptoms - hoping that they are all real this month! Been trying for a year now since miscarriage with no joy. Really really want a BABY! I see a few other familiar names on here, hello all!
xx Lou

ScaryHairy · 26/06/2008 19:50

Hello - welcome Emma and LouNothing much to say here... I have lots of EWCM but no DH who is away until tomorrow night! Arg!But hopefully ov will hold off until Sunday, what lovely perfect timing that would be.Be back later when we've done the deed and I can make up symptoms!

Bucky2008 · 26/06/2008 20:39

Does sobbing when Max died on Hollyoaks count as a symptom? . CD28 and AF has not arrived, but CD29 is a common AF arrival date, so we will see. Where is everyone? We had a flurry of activity and then its gone all quiet again. Hi to SH [grin}......

Hi and welcome to Lou and Emma.

HopingCat · 26/06/2008 21:37

Hi all,
I've followed Ei's link to the waiting room too. Am on CD23 and am starting to find things that I'm hoping are symptoms but in fact are more likely to be completely in my head. Will have a read through some of this thread before saying anything else as I've not looked to see how anyone else is today.

HC x

PicknMix · 26/06/2008 21:47

Evening all,

Bee working hard so no time for Mn'ing ( and gasp!)...

Hi and welcome to Emma and Lou - hope (in the nicest possible way!!) that your stay here is short and that you get your bfps this month! Emma, have you been to the dr about your feint bfp and the bfns??

Good to see you SH, am willing the egg to stay put until Sunday for you . My walk isn't until 26th of July so plenty of training to get through - its 25 miles in one day. Oh God, what have I let myself in for?!

Bucky that definitely is a symptom.... I have all possible limbs crossed that af doesn't arrive tomorrow. Can't believe that cheeky hound of yours ate your holiday sandals was this her way of telling you she doesn't want you to go away?! I found my rabbit sat with a huge piece of wallpaper in the his mout the other night. NOT impressed!! He's now decided his fav place to sit is on the back of the sofa above your head, which is fine until you move and he gets stuck behind the sofa cushions

Any symptoms yet Caitni?! Hope the wedding goes well and you have a fab time. Enjoy your stopover in the Lakes (camped there last year, such a beautiful place).

How's everything today GG? Have you been googling like mad? Have you booked in for accupuncture yet? Although it seems like 6 months is a long time, as everyone else has said, it'll give you more time to prepare yourself and for things like accupuncture to start to take effect.

Hi Ei, hope the egg makes an appearance at the weekend for you (as well as SH!) - although you need to keep your strength up for the 5k run Good luck with that, I can't run at all, I have no stamina

Hi Beanie!

Lovely to hear froM you again JB, YAY for the Jollycub and your baby belly!

How are you today MOB?

Off to see te Gok show that I recorded earlier, can't beat a bit of Gok !!

emma2617 · 27/06/2008 08:53

PicknMix I have been to see the doctor...but long story short, he was useless, didn't do any form of pregnancy test! Instead I am going back today for blood tests for thyroid function (?!) and he hasn't even ruled out the possibilty of pregnancy what a twit!

I tested again this morning and got another faint BFP, but I am 28DPO so shouldn't it be a lot darker by now?!

PicknMix · 27/06/2008 09:27

Emma - I think if you have got another bfp (however feint) this morning, you have a choice..... You can either tell your current doctor about it in your appt today, change your doctor someone who actually does their job properly or give your local EPAC a ring at your hospital and ask their advice (my preferred option I think).

The only reason a bfp line appears is when there is hCG in your urine. I think some fertility treatments can sometimes cause a false positive but I'm pretty sure nothing else can. I'm assuming the line appeared within the time given and that its not an evaporation line? Have you tried testing with a digital test?

Must be so frustrating for you not knowing - I wouldn't panic about being 28dpo and only a feint line, being on Mn has taught me that everyone is different and some people don't get a positive test until weeks after ov.

Or is it a poss that you ov'ed later this month therefore you're not really 28dpo yet?

Anyway, enough waffle from me, good luck at the doctors - let us know how you get on

emma2617 · 27/06/2008 09:56

PicknMix I haven't tested with a digital one today, but I did when I got my first faint BFP and it said "not pregnant"

I am seeing the nurse today so I might ask her what she thinks and if I can have the contact details for the EPAC.

It definately wasn't an evaporation line as it was coloured, not grey! I haven;t told DP this time as I told him when I got the first BFP but when the digital one said "not pregnant" he was absolutely gutted

I will let you know what the nurse says!

emma2617 · 27/06/2008 12:06

Well I have returned...minus 4 viles of blood!

I told the nurse my situation and she did a urine test which was BFN (which I expected as I only got faint BFP using FMU!) Then she consulted a different doctor who agreed to take HCG bloods aswell as the thyroid, anaemia and glucose! I am having follow up HCG bloods on thursday and then the results on 8th July!

The nurse was explaining everything to me and she kept saying "I don't want to get your hopes up", I haven't got my hopes up, I just want to know one way or the other!

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 27/06/2008 12:17

hi ladies
emma congrats on your BFP fingers crossed for your appointment with th nurse
hope everyone is doin well today
nothin here Ov wise yet im expectin my egg on sunday or monday at the latest so i can officially be on the 2ww again
