Fertility Friend is down

Yarnie · 24/05/2008 09:04

Hi All

I've succumbed and bought OPKs. I'm such a sucker for having the right equipment

Woke up this morning with something wrong with my neck. I can't rotate my head without pain . I was gardening for about 5 hours yesterday, but I don't think I did anything which would hurt my neck. I was meant to be driving DF and me to a bbq, but it wouldn't be safe .

Thanks for the welcome, Emmsy! Lovely to hear about your progress. You are a hopeful beacon for us all!

I'm obsessed with food, too. DF is head chef in our house and he's fantastic. Eating is one of my hobbies. I think I could be a bad influence on your diets, though. I'd rather run myself into the ground in the gym than give up on food.

Never one to disappoint Mollie, I have said glass of champers next to me as I type And I have been naughty and haven't taken the herbs yet, probably shouldn't be mixed with alcohol so will have to take them in the morning
af returned this morning, although dark and very light bleeding, so I'm guessing it's the acupuncture making sure m/c is finished. Bit over the bleeding business I have to say though
Treated myself today and bought a pair of new earrings ($80, not that much money but enough, on our current budget) and had my hair cut and coloured for the first time since December. Can't remember the last time I spent $200 in one day, just on me.
How lovely you felt baby move Emmsy, and no, not getting jiggy for dh and I last night, waiting for all clear from gynae next Wed and then it's game on
Hello to everyone, enjoy your weekend.

SparklyPiliPala · 24/05/2008 11:07

I'm back and have caught up.
Scully It's lovely that you treated yourself. I always feel great after spending money on myself .
Yarnie Sorry to hear about your neck.
Fruity Have you heard from DP? Did they have fun?
Emmsy Lovely to 'see' you. It's so lovely that you felt beanie move. How long until 20 week scan? xxx

FruitynNutty · 24/05/2008 12:58

I'm shattered. Didn't manage much at the gym. I ran at speed of 11 (whatever that means) for 15 mins. I could barely breath anymore so had to stop - so unfit, it's all my fluberdy juberdy bits holding me back Ah well, at least I tried . Picked DS up from creche and took him into the pool, he got really scared. I don't take him swimming often enough, how am I going to get him to enjoy it? He was screaming like a little girl! very embarrassing.

We stopped by Sainsburys on the way home and found some pizza bases in the whoopsie section for 99p so we've just made some pizzas, they're yummy! . We've got one of my mindees' 1st birthday picnic this afternoon so I'm hoping the weather stays good!

I've heard back from a wedding venue we really like and they have availability next August bank holiday I've got to get back to the lady but I have no idea what I need to ask, I have so many questions! Does anyone here know anything about weddings?

Sparkly how's your head? I'm not sure if DP and the gang have arrived in Liverpool yet but I'll call him later to catch up

MollieMooma · 24/05/2008 15:09

Sparkly I think you should blame your skinnies for the hangover! I'm sure that they must have pushed all the blood to your brain and caused the headache not the copious amounts of alcohol!
Emmsy How exciting to feel little beanie moving, something I can't wait to experience. How much longer til your 20 week scan?
Yarnie So easily persuaded! Hope your OPK's come quickly! How's your neck now?
Scully Glad you haven't let me down girl, bring on the bubbly! Good to hear you've treated yourself you deserve it, in fact we all do just for being us!!!
Fruity Sounds like your DP will have fun tonight, what are you doing whilst he's gadding about. Good on you for trying at the gym and LOL at your ds screaming like a girl! Weddings, where shall we start! Are you getting married at the venue too? You will need to check out room hire costs, menu's, corkage if you want to bring your own wine etc. Is it far from where you live, will you need different florists, hairdressers etc? I could go on but there's loads, what do you need to know (I used to organise weddings for a hotel, can't you tell!)
Well OPK gave me a definate +ve last night instead of my usual faint line, and dh is in such a bad mood! Everything has gone wrong with the bathroom, the central heating has burst when they removed a radiator, you name it, it's happened. I've escaped to my Mum's under the guise that I'm doing my promotion application, but it would have been rude not too come on and say hello! Will have to use all my womanly charms tonight as he will so not be in the mood!

SparklyPiliPala · 24/05/2008 17:45

Fruity That's very good running...I can't do that. Sorry to hear about C not liking swimming. Maybe just try going a bit more often and go somewhere where it is shallow and he can walk into the water?
Mollie Get BDing lady....that'll put a smile on his face. Houses are a pain in the arse. No sooner you finish one job another one appears. We had loads of problems last year when we had a new bathroom and then we needed a new boiler . I hope things are a bit better this pm.

FruitynNutty · 24/05/2008 19:41

Well, DS in bed, I've semi tidied up, still got loads of dusting and chucking out to do.

I've treated myself to a Pot Noodle. I've been craving one for weeks now and being on my jack jones tonight I really cant be arsed to cook. Also I've been really cheeky and bought a box of choc chip cookies from sainsburys, you know, the fresh ones in the see through box I feel another binge coming on Somebody please stop me!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm now going to bore you all with wedding talk .................................

MOLLIE My new best friend hahahaha, I really dont know where to start with this wedding. Obviously it has to be perfect. I'm scared I'm going to miss something or look back and wish I'd done something differently. This is what we really want Weather could be a problem though but I suppose it can be a problem where ever we have it. As long as they have a marquee then it shouldn't be too bad - I hope.
From £4,500, Price includes; Boat arrival for Bridal party, Ceremony marquee and set up, exclusive use of the island and St.James's Point, reception marquee, Garden games (giant jenga, giant chess, boule), Lunch/Dinner Marquee (inc seating and tables), Thatched Pavilion bar (fully staffed), candle lit beach in eve, Hot tub () and bonfire, own wedding planner from day of booking and throughout the day, full admin back up and organisation

meals just under £40 per head for BBQ or table buffet.

How does that sound? Is it good value? They also have two log homes - no idea of the cost but I've emailed the lady in charge.
Unfortunately they dont offer full marriage ceremony as the law requires 4 brick walls . There's a registry office 4 miles away and 2 village churches 1 mile away.

I'd love Cala Lilys. They're my favourite

Sparkly's also getting married next year I think, is that right Sparkly?

FruitynNutty · 24/05/2008 19:42

oh yeah, the venue is a bout 2 hours away from us so I'll have to find out about B&B's in the area for the guests

Yarnie · 24/05/2008 22:41

Sparkly I'm empathising on the pain front. Hope you're feeling better.
Scully Yaay! Champers! I read a study today which showed that out of a group of ladies who conceived who either (a) drank wine, (b) drank beer, (c) drank spirits, (d) drank all of the above or (e) abstained entirely, those who drank wine conceived most quickly. I think only a few units a week were consumed. I had a glass or two of bubbly myself today. Certainly keeps me cheerful
Fruity Bore us away with your wedding plans. I have one to plan for next year. Not looking forward to the planning one bit, so would be very pleased to steal any useful info(!) I'd just like to click my fingers and be married. A pseudo-Caribbean wedding would be gorgeous
Mollie It's amazing what an offer of BD can do to change a DH's bad mood! When all is crumbling about you, BD. That's what I reckon anyway! Hope your DH agreed.

Neck is feeling a little better after some Champers and pain killers. I think its going to bother me for a few days yet, though. I have a deadline in two weeks time that I'm working manically towards, so I'm a little worried about how the neck pain will affect me (it's computer work).

scully · 25/05/2008 00:19

Good luck with the wedding planning Fruity. dh and I have been married 10yrs in July, suppose we should think about renewing our vows, one day
I like the sound of that survey Yarnie, however I probably have more than a few units a week
House renovating sucks, we spent 2yrs renovating our house in Farnham and it would never have been finished even if we were still living in it now..... Very glad to have bought a 7yr old house here which requires little updating.
Hopefully going to this later today, yummy

FruitynNutty · 25/05/2008 09:07

Morning ladies

Scully I clicked on your link. I had to laugh when I saw the contact lady was called 'Prue', I was just watching Kath and Kim last night and I absolutely love it! I wonder if she has a business partner called 'True' lol Looks lovely though, have fun!

I got such a lovely night's sleep last night without DP there sticking his arms and legs all over me, aaahhhhhh, I feel so refreshed!
Talking of who, I got a drunk phone call from him yesterday as I was trying to get off a bus with buggy and DS's bike. He was getting all his drunk mates to call down the phone at me so I hung up. He called back to say why was I so grumpy, I was trying to get off the bus FFS! Stupid man Still, sounds like they were having a good time anyway.

We're off to the soft play centre this morning then meeting my mum, dad and sis for lunch. My sis has bought a Loughborough (her uni)top for DS, very cute

Well, I have the same temp as yesterday......

Morning all.
Yarnie If your neck is still painful today I'd consider booking in with your GP. I used to suffer with neck problems and got signed off sick for a week. The doctor told me that sitting at a computer in work wasn't going to help the recovery. I really feel for you. Is it a reoccuring problem? I started seeing a chiropractor and having acupuncture and haven't had any more problems in 4 years.
Fruity Wedding plans sounds fab. You're already on a roll. ME? MARRIED? NEVER!!! LOL. This 4 year engagement is going to last a lot longer.

Fruity I have been charting on FF since the mid last cycle. How do I make my charts accessible?

Not sure how reliable my temp is today as I had very disturbed sleep and I drank alcohol yesterday. I did get my BBT thermometer yesterday, though. So quick!

Neck's still sore, although the compensatory muscle spasms in my back have eased. I'll definitely get myself down to the GP if it is not better by Tues.

Scully The growers market sounds fab. If I didn't have so much work to do, DF and I would be down there like a shot. Hopefully it will become a regular thing. I should think it would be very popular.

Fruity WOW!!! that is an absolutely gorgeous venue! We got married in Portmeirion in North Wales, they call it the "little Italy of Wales" it was stunning and thoroughly enjoyed our day. I love the tropical theme, like you say the one thing you can't predict is the weather so you just have to forget about it, you will still enjoy yourself even if it pours down! I think your getting a lot for your money, although £40 a head seems steep for a BBQ, do you think they would negotiate? I know it's not natural to us English but barter a bit, you might be surprised what they come up with. It's looks so beautiful and I love the idea of the candle lit beach and bonfire. After reading an article on hot tubs make sure they clean it out first they say they are full of sperm! Yuck Cala lilies are very elegant, what colour were you thinking? I can't believe how close that place is to me and I've never heard of it! Have you got your heart set on a Church or registry office ceremony? What about your dress? Oooh I so love weddings
Scully Very jealous about the growers market, looks dead fancy! I went to a mind, body and spirit exhibition this morning and a my god daughters 4th birthday party this afternoon!
Yarnie Sending you a virtual massage for the neck. Oh and yes offer of BD definately de-stressed him!
Sparkly Come on, set the date, maybe if you've something else to think about you'll get pg quicker! (Well it's a thought!)
Well bathroom update, my friend the plasterer came to try and repair the huge holes that the old bath and sink (which are now residing in my front garden had left when removed. Looks like I'm going to be about 2 weeks without a sink but I did get to have a soak in my new bath last night! Just feels like I'm in a building site when I lie there!

FruitynNutty · 26/05/2008 07:46

Morning,

Very quiet in here this weekend

I was up quite late last night catching up on Desperate Housewives and Lost. I completely melted when I saw Sawyer holding Claire's baby

Yarnie have you heard of Confetti.co.uk for your wedding next year? I'm finding it quite useful. Still completely daunting though. Do you know what your doing yet? Have you began planning yet?
How's the neck this morning?

Mollie Portmeirion looks stunning, I've just looked at some pictures I have no idea on colour for the flowers. But I love this colour dress for the bridesmaids at the moment.

Ei Where are you?

How is everyone else this morning? probably asleep I just automatically wake up early, I cant help it

Hi everyone

Fruity, thanks for the link. I'll check it out. We have virtually no wedding planning done yet. We are going very low key - local registry office and a party afterwards. Neither of us are religious and I'm quite shy and don't like being the centre of attention! We were going to have the party at out house, but we have a place that is being refurbished and it probably won't be done in time, so I'm on the look out for a quirky place in London.

Mollie Thanks for the virtual neck massage!

Neck is same as yesterday unfortunately. I had trouble sleeping again, so that may have affected my temp. AF was almost non-existent this cycle. It started tailing off from day 2. No complaints!

Fruity I knew you'd get excited about Sawyer lol. Those dresses are stunning. I've seen a photo of you wearing a similar dress I think? The colour is gorgeous.
Yarnie Sorry to hear neck is still painful

Hi ladies !
All this talk of posh weddings and champers - you are all so fancy-dan !
Fruity I wore a bridesmaid dress that colour 3 years ago - loved it ! I'm a bit of a pro though as have been bridesmaid 7 times ! and yes have never been the bride and have no intention of doing so either - I've walked down the aisle more than enough times already (albeit not in front !)
Emmsy have not started back at the running yet - think I may stick to walking to be honest. Any time I have run up the stairs or walked very quickly for the bus I have been sick/wretched. Maybe best if I just take it easy - any excuse ! Are you back on the fitness-wagon ? hurray for baby moving - am a bit concerned I'll find that freaky.
Have been telling people gradually which is good fun as most had no idea we were interested in having family so are really shocked !
Ooh you ladies should be in Scotland today as it is roasting hot ! But the down side is I don't have the day off
