I have been feeling gassy and bloated since 5 dpo and hot flashes returned to me last night so I had to turn on the fan. Today I still have hot flashes and they come and go.
Here is what I have found:
"Hot flashes occur from a decrease in estrogen levels. In response to this, your glands release higher amounts of other hormones that affect the brain's thermostat, causing your body temperature to fluctuate.
"Symptoms of low estrogen can include: Hot flashes, flushes, and night sweats are the most common symptoms of low estrogen. At times, blood rushes to your skin's surface. This can give you a feeling of warmth (hot flash)."
"What does Progesterone have to do with bloating?
As regular Hormonas will know, Progesterone is one of the female sex hormones. And it’s most famous for its role in the menstrual cycle and coordinating your periods.
Progesterone, though, can also affect other parts of your body. And that’s because it slows the movement of smooth muscles. Smooth muscles are the muscles in your internal organs over which you have no control. Think heartbeat, digestion, and the like.
As your Progesterone levels rise during the luteal phase of your cycle, it can slow down the movement of your gut. And that in turn can lead to feelings of reflux, bloating, constipation, and other gross digestive symptoms."
So I wonder if I had the second estrogen surge yesterday morning then it decreased slightly this morning? Again, I used SMU this morning because I drank more water than I usually do ... 😆 I always use FMU for Mira.
