TTC 2024 - New Year Babies

Hey!

Thought id start a new thread as anyone at the beginning of their cycle TTC now I guess will be looking at January due dates! Think AF will be here today or tomorrow for me so my due date would be 7th January…

So I’ve had all my normal AF symptoms this past week. Textbook. So I’m 99% sure i’m out this month. I feel super down as I’ve really tried to ‘relax’ and not think about it or engage with it. I’ll now be on cycle 4. I’m going to have some blood tests when AF arrives to do the basic fertility checks as I’m 35 this year and my partner is 38 so I’d rather know now if there are any issues. I might take a break from this thread next month as i’m starting to feel a bit worried and don’t wanna bring any negativity but I wish you all the baby dust in the world and hope you all get your BFP xx

@mamataylor oh no! Sorry to hear But at least you can move on to the next cycle now.

And im doing alright, trying to cover more of this cycle just incase.

@LK2610 I’m the same as you except this is cycle 4 moving onto cycle 5 and also think I’m going to take a break from the threads as whilst we’re obviously happy for those getting positive tests it’s very, very hard when it feels like it won’t happen for you. 💐

@Daniki ok that makes sense if you’re two hours away! I think it’s great you’ve got that booked in for May, it’s good to have a plan - it makes you feel like you’re going forward!

so my scan got moved to yesterday as an emergency. I had some bleeding and my pregnancy symptoms had vanished. But I saw a strong heartbeat and baby measures to exactly my dates! But I have a haematoma which is what I had last year and ended in MC. I’m terrified and have a feeling I could be back in this group at some point but fingers crossed.

@LK2610 I completely understand where you’re coming from! I think because the ‘average’ time couples get pregnant is within 3 months you then start to wonder does that mean something is wrong? But for it to be the average it does mean that half of couples will take longer than 3 months. And after 1 year it’s like 86% of couples have got pregnant, so there is still plenty of opportunities.

However I do think testing at this stage is a good idea because you would hate to get to a year and discover something that you could have known about 9 months ago. the third episode is on male fertility and listening to that made me realise that my husband had a procedure when he was 8 (undescended testicle) which basically means his sperm count now is halved! We would never have known it had an impact if I hadn’t listened. We’re now waiting to be referred for sperm analysis on NHS.

After the initial shock, I am coming to terms that it might take a little longer for us. Whether that be naturally or having to go through something assisted.

Totally fine to take a break from the threads, but do know that we’ll be here when you need us because we know what you’re going through.

Had a wedding yesterday and really done the dog on it😂 I am very sick today, hope I haven't ruined my chances at implantation but was also hoping the relaxed state of it might help 😂😂

I’ve got mild abdominal cramps but not due AF for 10days. Who knows what is going on, hoping for a BFP in Early May but not getting my hopes up…

@Daniki nothing to be done, just gotta be careful! Ah I love that you let loose and had fun! I think it’s so needed amongst all this TTC stress! Hopefully drinking is the answer 😂😂

I'm 7 or 8 DPO today and had some sharp pains earlier and now mild/dull AF type cramping and a tiny bit of brown spotting. Still 6-7 days before AF due so really hoping this could be it and not a surprise early period coming!

I'm report back in a week whether it worked or not 😂😂

Ah that's actually so scary but praying all be ok for you 🤞🏻 wouldn't it be so much easier to go into a coma for the 9 months and wake up to your baby fully cooked 🤣

Only a few days in to using OPKs and already fell out with them. Got a random high reading at about CD9 that looked similar to previous day. The next day similar coloured line but a lower number so it's says I have already had my peak this month wich I absolutely haven't 🙃 any how gonna do some romancing anyways for the fun of it because even though I know it's wrong I can't help but think what if it's not!!

Yeah that’s it. And all the confusing stats. One internet search told me that 83% conceive in 3 months 😱

Thanks for the podcast, I’ve already listened to the first episode and it gave me some reassurance about the day 3 tests I’ll be getting when AF arrives. I also didn’t know you could get at-home sperm testing kits so we might do one of those too.

Well I think I’m now out this month unfortunately! AF hasn’t arrived yet but I’m pretty sure she will start either today or tomorrow!

Just a question for logging your period (sorry this is going to be a bit gross)…obviously the first day is the first day of blood, but what do you all count as the last day? I often only have 3/4 days of actual blood and then for the next 3/4 days it’s dark brown which then slowly gets lighter before stopping all together. I’ve been counting the last day as the day before everything is clear again. Should I only be counting it as the days I have red blood?

It’s probably not even relevant but I just feel like the app ovulation predictions are wrong as they are basing it off the info I am putting in. I’ve been doing the sticks the last couple of months so I feel like I know when I’m ovulating but I’m just finding it frustrating, I just don’t know why we can’t conceive second time round so looking for anything that might help get a more accurate picture of my cycle!!!

Starting to think I may be going crazy! I'm 10 dpo and took an early test. Can anyone see a line or am I crazy? It's super faint but I think I can see one.

@satsumaqueen my period is the same, once the brown has finished I count it as last day, mine lasts all in all 7/8 days!

BFN today at 9DPO. I think I'll wait until Friday to test again and then will just wait for my period. Haven't had one since the mc so hoping it's on time and not too bad 😅

Does anyone have any experience with conceive plus (either the tablets or the lube) or preseed?

I’ve used Preseed for the last 2 cycles @CadoAvo

Bit of a late response but I’ve pretty much said I’m out this month too. Like you, typical AF symptoms and two BFNs at 8 and 9DPO.

I have some more tests arriving today, so might do another one tonight. I know the mornings if better but there would be no time to process the info before doing the nursery run and going into the office if it was a BFP.

Have a look into Hertility for blood work. I got a test through my works benefits system and they check all your hormones, which I’ve found really helpful!

Well, this is a turn of events, was so sure we were out this month..!

I’m so, so shocked and can’t understand how it went from BFN to BFP in a few days (obviously know that’s how it works but you know what I mean 😅)

@satsumaqueen I count the last day of bleeding, I get brown spotting for a few days after (in fact going into my fertile period) and I don’t count that.

Today has been an emotional day. I'm 9DPO. Had a BFN first thing this morning. Then in the afternoon I had such an urge to test again, did a cheapie easy at home test and up came the faintest line ever, a proper squinter. So did a FRER with the same urine and again a veryyyyyyy faint line appeared, both within the timeframe. Then this evening I did a clear blue early digital and it said not pregnant.

Last time I had clearer BFPs including a digital at 9DPO. I'm holding onto hope that something is happening and I just need to learn some patience 🤞🏼
