Icsi ivf may 2024

Hi ladies I thought I'd create this thread to support anyone doing ivf in May 2024, it's great to have other people to talk to going ture the same thing!
My background I'm 31 with low AMH of 3, suffering from secondary infertility 2.5 years ttc had a failed IVF cycle in February where my 4 mature eggs just failed to fertilized so we have been advised to do ICSI for our next cycle! I decided to give my body a break and get back into end of April/may depending on how my cycle returns:)

@Cloclo93 I'm so sorry. That just sucks big time. Just heartbreaking 💔 Just ride out all these huge emotions you must be feeling and once the intensity has passed you can reassess and think of your next steps.

I am currently abroad as IVF so much more affordable (and I can gender select ) so if you ever want any more info about traveling abroad I'm happy for you to PM me.

Sorry for confusion , I had 15 blastocyst today but they were only able to freeze 9 +1 got trasferred today 😍 still very happy with that ! Looks like the other 5 today were not great quality that’s why I ended up with 10 blasts all together xx

Transfer went smoothly , I trasferred a 4AB 😚 hopefully I won’t have to go through another egg collection with 9 in the freezer yay ! How’s everyone else doing ?

@Ilovebees glad your transfer went well.. and that’s great you have 9 to freeze .. I am postive you will get a BFP from that amount ., that’s amazing news ., how are you feeling after transfer ? I have mine on Saturday all going well! 🤞🏽✨

@hopefullsosbry thank you so much ! I am feeling great ! I didn’t feel a thing at trasfer it went so well :) my testing day is 11th of June 😂 I’ll probably test next Tuesday at 5 dpt , no earlier I swear !
can’t wait till you have yours on Saturdays , fingers crossed you’ll have it done and that all goes well up until then x

I had my egg retrieveral on sat and today am bleeding bright red like a period?

I wasn't expecting to bleed until my period (not having a fresh transfer) so totally thrown by this. Sore tummy too.

A quick Google says it may be a withdrawal bleed? I have developed OHSS so am on some extra meds for this? Anyone shed any light 🤷

How is everyone feeling today?

@Ilovebees we have similar numbers I think. 28 retrieved, 18 mature and fertilised, 16 on day 3. I've flown home from Cyprus now so need to speak with clinic today to see what my day 5 numbers were looking like. I hope everything goes really smoothly for you. Was transfer yesterday or is it today? Xx

@Charis1503 hey lovely ! Glad you’re back from Cyprus ! I have heard it’s pretty normal to bleed soon after egg retrieval , and yes it’s withdrawal bleed , not like proper real period , but you can still count it as day 1 of period because your next period should still start at the right time next time , in 28 days or whatever your cycle lenght is . I have heard that you can bleed from day 4 even to day 12 , so each individual is different , and the reason is because it’s a hormonal crash , you are not doing fresh trasfer so you’re not supporting your body with progesterone to keep the lining thick . So ofcourse it will just come away as soon as hormone levels drop , which is different for everyone , so don’t worry ! Plus it’s good actually because it means your trasfer will come around quicker 🤗

I ended up with 10 embryos on day 5!
I trasferred a 4AB yesterday , on Wednesday and it went very well , surprisingly I had 24 eggs collected and never developed OHSS, I drank litres of coconut water only , helps massively ! Good luck for your day 5 call on embryos 😍

@Ilovebees its actually going to make transfer really tricky. So I'd need to fly back out to Cyprus on 2 weeks?? 6 weeks is awful timing as have both my son's birthdays in July and my mum's. Which pushes it back to august which feels like a life time away.

I was told my period would start about 2 weeks from egg retrieveral which would make my return to Cyprus in about 4 weeks time.

But if this means I've got to go back in 14 days I'm in major panic mode

I had my EC today, out of 12 follicles they retrieved 10 eggs. Pretty chuffed with the result. I feel fine, some mild cramping, but nothing alarming. Hopefully transfer on the 4th. I won’t find out how many fertilized or how my embryos are doing before then 🥴 Goin on a miniholiday with fam and MIL, I think some celebratory cocktails are in order, hopefully the last ones in a long time 🤞

@Charis1503 glad you are back, would you not be able to do the fet in July ? I am Also in Cyprus, I had my transfer on Monday Cyprus are quite accommodating I've found.

@BakinABaby wow that is great news !!! Super amount of eggs but not too much to risk ohss, I also didn't find out until day of transfer I fully preferred it that way, even got a picture of them sent

Just found out I have 9 left on day 5.

Just waiting for the PGT results back to determine if there are any that are suitable to transfer.

Just feel sick as a dog. To think I've thrown so much money at it and may end up with nothing. It's heartbreaking.

Feeling so deflated and anxious

So I'm on day3 after 5 day transfer, no symptoms feeling quite deflated tbh as I don't feel any different.
My blood test is on Monday and it's getting very close so very scary.

So an update from me.

I'm almost certain I've chosen a dodgy clinic.

I have no viable girl embryos. The clinic are currently not co-operating or giving me any lab reports.

Initially it was 18 mature eggs, 16 of which fertilised and made day 3. Then 9 on day 5.

Then they changed this and said only 9 made it to day 3. Then when I was pushing for the lab reports she changed to say that 10 had been sent for PGT on day 3?

Anyway, they are refusing to return the money I paid in advanced for the embryo transfer.

Absolutely devastated. All of my savings went on this.

I hope everyone else is doing okay.

@camelinastorm Kyrenia IVF.

They kept changing how many eggs I had / how many were fertilised/ how many were tested.

They won't give me the embryologist report so of the 10 mature eggs that fertilised and made it to testing day apparently 8 had genetic issues and I had two boys embryos.

But the clinic won't answer any of my questions , won't discuss anything with me - are now ignoring my messages. Ultimately it is my decision if they found a girl embryos who had say trisomy 21 whether I chose to transfer or not. She won't even tell me if it was only two embryos that MADE it or whether they made the decision to dispose of the 8 carrying a genetic issue.

Yesterday she was repeatedly ringing me saying I had to decide whether to freeze the boy embryos except this was the afternoon of day 7 - so everything must already have been frozen or died by then? I responded asking for more info to make a decision and radio silence so far.

@Charis1503 ohh that's crazy I'm with north Cyprus and had no issues. However I didn't do gender selection or testing,
Did they tell you the day after via message how many fertilised, all my coms have been written nothing verbal. I am at my clinic for beta on Tuesday I can ask my clinic for advice on what yours has done

I’m so stupid , I tested today , I’m on the 5th day after transfer and ofcourse it negative 🤐😥 with first response too so I think if I was to have positive , it would at least show a faint line by day 5 past 5 day trasfer ? Am I kidding myself to say that I might still have a chance ??

@Ilovebees try not to worry .. 5days is still very early to test .. some don’t get results till the day their period is due !! Keep positive and maybes wait another two days before testing again?

I am good I had my fresh transfer on Saturday.. currently 2fats part .. out of our 8 follicles we got 5 mature / 5 fertilised.. 1 4BB fresh transfer, then with a 5 day - 3BB and a 6 day 5AB frozen .. so we done not to bad .. the tww is just the worst huh ?

@Ilovebees 5pdt should be the same as 10dpo and that is still pretty early, a lot don’t get a positive that soon. Keep your spirits up, I think you’re still in the running.

@hopefullsosbry I don't think I have had any symptoms 😞 general sore boobs, heavy feeling in the womb area but nothing really, that's lro6why I don't want to test
