Hi ladies I thought I'd create this thread to support anyone doing ivf in May 2024, it's great to have other people to talk to going ture the same thing!
My background I'm 31 with low AMH of 3, suffering from secondary infertility 2.5 years ttc had a failed IVF cycle in February where my 4 mature eggs just failed to fertilized so we have been advised to do ICSI for our next cycle! I decided to give my body a break and get back into end of April/may depending on how my cycle returns:)

I had EC today and all went well . Was so nervous but got 8 .. so will find out tomorrow how many are mature and fertilised etc .. we get updates on day 3 also then day 5 (sat) should be transfer if we luck to get there 🤞🏽 feel such a relief now EXC is done as I was really nervous for getting the sedation.

@camelinastorm yay thank you ! I’m well happy so far with 16 but I know I’ll lose minimum of 50% from these if not more .

@hopefullsosbry yay well done to you on your EC ! You did it ! And you came out with 8 eggs yay ! Very good news !

I hope my bloods are okay tomorrow when I go to clinic , that will decide if I get my fresh trasfer or not ..

I can’t belive we are all so close with our trasfers , only few days out from each other , very exiting to see updates from all of you to see how you all get on in the next few days xxx

I'm currently in Northern Cyprus having IVF. I have two lovely boys but their dad was abusive so another baby with him was off the cards. He left 7 months ago and with help of a social worker is getting better and rebuilding his relationship with the boys. I've always logged for another and now I'm free I figured I could safely pursue it.

This was my first cycle. I had egg retrieveral on sat. Ive gone in to OHSS. 28 follicles retrieved,18 mature, 16 have fertilised. I'm gonna fly home early to be checked over by the NHS as I have free fluid in my abdomen 😕

Sending huge positive thoughts to everyone in this boat!

@Charis1503 well done in your numbers .. sorry you are having pain and hopefully this will be sorted when you get home to NHS. Safe travels home

@Charis1503 oh no sorry to hear you have gone into OHSS, can the clinic not assist in treatment of it rather than fly back to the UK in pain.

What clinic in northern Cyprus are you using

I have two boys back in the UK, age 3 and 6 and I think I just want to be home at this stage.

The clinic here have prescribed the blood thinners, more Cetrotide and some hormone blocker pills to help me coast for a few days whilst I get home. I'm just thinking of the logistics of getting in to the NHS system, it's not an ED job I don't think, but not sure my GP will be much help 🤷

I settled on Kyrenia IVF as it was close to the coast, had nice reviews and the international co-ordinator was quick and responsive.

I got a call and out of the 8, 5 were mature and all 5 have fertilised ..so I am happy with that result.

@hopefullsosbry yay well done to you ! Hopefully these 5 will turn out to be day 5ers 😁very nerve wracking waiting for these phone calls ! Am I right that more than 50% will not make it from day 3 to 5? The drop off is very scary !

I had my bloods done today for full blood count and will know tomorrow morning about the results and depending on the results , I’ll know if I’ll go in for trasfer straight after or not , I really hope I can have fresh transfer as I feel 100% okay ! No signs of OHHS, been drinking tons of coconut water with electrolytes so I feel like this helped massively :)

Oh @Ilovebees wow amazing results! Will you get another call or only on transfer day? Could you have OHSS but feel normal?
@hopefullsosbry fingers crossed fo you now that most of them make it to day 5 pretty blasts!
@Cloclo93 good luck at PUPO and many positive tests! Did you get anything to freeze as well?

It’s trigger day for me today and EC Wednesday. Honestly so done with the injections, day 14, each and every one gets more painful as the injection area gets sorer. Hopefully this is the last one (of the last cycle)

Hi @BakinABaby unfortunately my transfer has been Canceled due to slow egg growth and bad quality. Considering natural ivf aboard I just can not accept its over for me yet

@BakinABaby thank you for your well wishes ! I am not sure if you can have OHSS and feel completely fine ? I would imagine if you feel good then I wouldn’t have it ? 😌Maybe bloods will say otherwise , let’s see tomorrow !
and yes I’ll get a day 5 call tomorrow morning about my embryos and also to let me know how my blood results were from today and if I am able to a trasfer straight after the call or not , if no trasfer then I’ll still find out about my embryos wellbeing. Fingers crossed xx

@BakinABaby yay trigger day for you ! How exiting ! It’s Neally the end line for you !!! Wow 14 days , I stimmed for 10 days only with meriofert 150iu and 2 last days 75iu meriofert . Can’t imagine 14 days , such a long wait . Hopefully you’ll get some good results after EC! How many follicles are they expecting so far ?

@Cloclo93 omg I’m so so sorry your transfer didn’t go as expected , how unfair is that ! I do feel sorry for you deeply , because I know how difficult this journey is , all the injections and waiting and then to get bad results is just horrible !😔please don’t give up ! Go again and again and you’ll get your miracle in the end , no matter what it takes ! You’re strong enough to go through IVF, so you’ll be strong enough to go again , I promise ! Sending love 💐

@Cloclo93 😞 Such crap, I’m so sorry for you. Is there any hope still it’ll make it to a blast and can be frozen? Either way, rest and take the time to think what your next steps will be.

@Ilovebees I have been patient indeed 😇 I only had gonal f 300, 225 towards the end. Last scan they counted 10 follicles. my AMH is on the low side, 7.8, so I think it’s a decent crop if they mature and are of good quality. Will see, this is my first rhodeo.

follicles ! Do you know what sizes they were at the last scan ? I’m guessing by today they should be big enough for you to do the trigger ? Did you mean 10 are at the right size at the moment , or 10 all together but all could not reach the full size in follicle? Hopefully you will end up getting 10, but who knows you might have couple more hiding somewhere behind the others , I have seen many people say they had like 15 but ended up with over 20 eggs instead ! Because some follicles are hiding behind the front ones .! What trigger are you injecting tonight? Xx

@Ilovebees I had 10 ranging from 8-14, 7 of em were 10 or bigger. That was five days ago and I have not had any scans since. My clinic only did one scan. So i really don’t know what to expect in two days 😖. IVF is covered by healthcare in my country, so I’m not paying anything out of pocket, so shan’t grumble too much but I wish they were a bit more eyes on. I haven’t had a single blood test either since they measured my estrogen after my down reg shot.

@BakinABaby ok great news ! Well I guess your clinic know exactly what they are doing and if they think no more scans are needed then belive them , they are experts ! I’m sure they know roughly how much each follicle grows in a day so they felt that they can just go by that info . So I wouldn’t worry , so if the 7 were 10mm and bigger then they will be perfect size by the end of the injections , most likely in their 20’s by then which is what you want . Take comfort in that I also haven’t had a single blood test in this ivf cycle , not even one to check my estrogen levels ! So wishing you all the luck and I hope you trigger goes well tonight , make sure to put your alarm on and prepare your shot a little earlier so you don’t rush at the last minute like I did 😁

@Cloclo93 so so sorry to hear that your transfer was cancelled, it's all so unbearably heartbreaking. I would get sperm checked now, fertility clinics always say no point but if your partner has high dna frag then icsi wont work either. more research is showing it actually has a huge impact. Dr Jonathan Ramsey is the guy to go to, he's got a long wait list but you can always just book in with him and do the tests while you wait. It could be something that simple, search his name on mumsnet and look at his website and you will see. Another option if you don't think the protocol is right, is speaking to a doctor call dr sher (an American doctor who has been around since the start of ivf, he was actually taught under the creators of ivf) I've heard he's changed people's lives by advising whether your clinic is giving you the right treatment. If 2 rounds haven't gone well, you should start to investigate things otherwise the same thing could keep happening. All the best to you.xxx

Fertility is a struggle for most women some are blessed not to experience it. But for those who have to undergo ivf the pain is emotionally and physically draining it totally exhausts you and takes over you life! I pray because ye are not giving up ye will get your healthy baby at the end of your journey, all of us will🙏 ❤️ best of luck everyone xxxx

Hey , girls ! I might be okay for my fresh trasfer today as my blood results were good yesterday ! She also gave my results for my embryos
24 collected
20 fertilised
16 on DAY 3
15 blastocysts on DAY 5 ( today ) 😍

@Ilovebees thays great you have 15 blast to freeze and good luck for your transfer day ! Yay ! We will only be days apart .. 💖
