Icsi ivf may 2024

Hi ladies I thought I'd create this thread to support anyone doing ivf in May 2024, it's great to have other people to talk to going ture the same thing!
My background I'm 31 with low AMH of 3, suffering from secondary infertility 2.5 years ttc had a failed IVF cycle in February where my 4 mature eggs just failed to fertilized so we have been advised to do ICSI for our next cycle! I decided to give my body a break and get back into end of April/may depending on how my cycle returns:)

Hi everyone. Got back from my scan. I have 10 follies!👏Not sure if that was all of them or just the ones she deemed viable to count, but that is just about bang in the middle of what I was hoping for. 5 on my right (14, 14, 14, 13, 9mm) and 5 on my left (11, 10, 10, 9, 8mm), I like that both my ovaries are pulling their weight 😅. Lining was 10mm.
I continue with stims until 27th, still Gonal f but lowered dose to 225, then on 28th I trigger with Ovitrelle 250 and EC on 30th. If there is anything to transfer, then they booked me for 4th of June. Hoping that is so and at least 1 in the freezer. 🙏

@BakinABaby thays great news !! All sounds like it’s going in the right direction !! Exciting stuff .. was this your 1st scan ? How many days have you been on stims now if you don’t mind me asking ? I have my 3rd scan tomorrow and will be day 12 tomorrow .. EC for me on Monday 😁

Can I ask the group what size did your clinic say they were looking for with follicles ? My clinic said 17-18mm .. does anyone know is this the size they want for before trigger or is this the size they want at collection time ?? What range will they be in for collection ?

@hopefullsosbry This was my first (and it seems only) scan yes, I'm on day 9 of stims, so 8 shots I've done so far. I have no idea actually what size she wants them, my doctor seems a bit mum on specifics. Guess I'll have to trust the process, which can be hard 😩

I also asked if they're going to call with how they're doing after EC, but she said no, they'll only call before transfer if there is no point coming in, which is disappointing as I'll only find out on the day of transfer. Though maybe they log it in the system under analyses or smth, either case I'll be refreshing my med data throughout 😅

thats super exciting you have your dates booked in .. and I am sure more will come up in the next week for you so looks like a good ‘crop’ you will harvest hehe ! I can’t wait to just get EC out the way and move on to the next step now ! Eekk xx

@BakinABaby ah that’s a shame they don’t call with an update though .. ahh the wait will seem like forever .. I am not sure what my clinic do but will ask them if I get to that stage .. my last clinc did update us through the fertilisation stage to update up until they were 5 day blast ?!

I have been to my egg collection 😄 I got 24 eggs removed , and they will ring me Monday for updates . Because it’s weekend tomorrow .i was not ruled out for fresh transfer , so will go for bloods on Tuesday to see how all is and if we will trasfer on Wednesday after all :)

@Ilovebees wow 24, that's amazing well done!! Fingers crossed for the fresh transfer. Hope you have a lovely chilled day today after growing so many eggs!

@BakinABaby ah that's frustrating they won't update you until before your transfer. But if this makes you feel any better, my husband and I have decided for future ECs we're going to ask for an update only on day 5 as we found the calls every other day so stressful and things change so quickly we'd rather just know at the end. Is it your EC today? Good luck if so!

@Ilovebees amazing news !!! You will be super happy with this result .. hopefully you can rest up now and wait for the call now ..
I had my 3rd scan and the one growing on the right ovary has gotten bigger now they think will be ready woop .. she was really happy with the result .. 6 from the left and 1 from the right .. the 6 from the left still included the lead follicle so they are thinking they might get that also or it might go ‘overcooked’ as she said .. either way we are looking at 7 or 6 folicles so that’s good for me I am happy with that. They will call tonight as might scan tomorrow again and have EC Monday or might wait till Monday to scan with EC Wednesday , she wanted to consult with the team and get back to me as what is the best decision to make 🤞🏽

@Lcm11 @hopefullsosbry thank you so much :) I couldn’t belive when they said 24 , but I am fully aware there is going to be massive drop off later , I heard I had 41 follicles all together. They were all super nice to me . I was half asleep but not fully , and I could feel some poking with needle which was quite painful for a moment or 2 , ouchh .
I feel so sore right now , had few hours of sleep . Last time I had 17 eggs collected and did not feel sore at all afterwoods , but this time I really do feel sore around my pelvic area .
funny because I didn’t feel any sort of soreness going into my egg collection today , it’s just the aftermath 😑
I hope it gets better not worse , I’m stocked up on coconut water as I heard it’s good for electrolytes. I have also been put on blood thinners because apparently it helps avoid ohhs , because ohhs makes blood thicker .

@hopefullsosbry yay well done to you after your scan ! I’m so glad the right ovary’s follicle caught up with you , go little eggs go ! 7 or 6 follicles is not bad at all , remember quality over quantity . Let’s keep fingers crossed for your egg collection for Monday ! Do you have to stim tonight as well , and then trigger Saturday I guess , 36 hours before egg collection ? What kind of trigger did you get to have ? X

@Lcm11 no, I still have to grow them. EC next Thrursday.

I got my scan and trigger tonight at 10:15pm so EC Monday at 10:15am .. had 2x 20mm 2x17mm, 1x14mm 1x12mm 2 under 10mm on left and 4 small (under 10mm) on right side but I’ve is 9.7 mm so nearly 10mm on right .. so done really good I think, quite a few have come on even though slowly ?!

@hopefullsosbry wow that’s such a good progress from the eggs . Plus they will keep growing after trigger too so who knows maybe the 10mm will be 13 by the time of EC . And who knows maybe there is some other follicles hiding behind the ones you can see atm . Well done to you ! What trigger injection did you get ? Do you have to mix it yourself or is it pre filled ? Exiting times hehe :) I had my egg collection yesterday and felt so so sore , but today I woke up feeling soooo much better , not much soreness at all any more, which I hope stays away going forward ! Good luck for your trigger tonight , make sure you set an alarm for it x

Yeh it’s ‘egg-citing’ ha sorry couldn’t resist 😂🥚.. I have ovetrelle .. the same one I had last cycle also .. glad you are recovering well from EC .. so will your transfer be next week ?

and I will have to see on Tuesday when I go for blood test to see if I am able to do trasfer the following day on Wednesday , I guess it all depends what my blood results say ,I’m not sure what they checking in my blood , maybe estrogen levels ? X not long until your collection whoop 😇🥳

Transfer day over here, hoping we have some good embryos, my clinic literally literally do no update at all until I get there at 8am. It has felt better not having the dreaded updates everyday but now scary.

@camelinastorm yay good luck for your transfer today , keeping my fingers crossed for you to have a smooth trasfer ! Can I ask how many eggs did you retrieve at egg collection ? Did they update you on day one how many fertilised ? Or you don’t know any of that yet ? Is it day 5 trasfer your having ? X

@Ilovebees so we had 8 collected and have 3 5AA blasts ready for today,, I was hoping for a few more day 5 but I am 40 so high drop off is expected, we didn't find anything out what was scary but quite nice as was able to relax. Have just been and bought all the medication for after transfer... There is a lot 😬😬

Goodluck today with transfer 🤞🤞🤞 mine is tomorrow hopefully! My clinic doesn't update me either only on day 1 which I had 2 fertilized eggs! I think I'll email them and ask today for a update, I hate the not knowing 🙃

@camelinastorm wow 3 , 5AA blasts , cannot get better than that ! Did you do genetic testing on these little embryos or are they untested ? :) good luck ! Wishing you all the best and praying that one of these lucky embryos become your take home baby ! 😍

I guess nobody will know the answer to my question but I’ll give it a try , Is it possible to do a fresh transfer after the decapeptyl trigger? I was given this trigger to avoid OHHS but I have no signs of OHHS and doctor said we will check my bloods tomorrow to see if it’s possible to do fresh trasfer the next day ( not sure what they checking in my blood ? Maybe progesterone ) . But I did a lot of reasearch on internet and heard that after this type of trigger , the success rates are low because it’s not HCG trigger :(

@Ilovebees sorry I don't know the answer as I am no oshh and have had fresh transfer. There are quite a few who had suffered with oshh so jopef6someone will know.

We haven't had them tested as it's only our second full round, last full round they did day3 transfer failed and then fet of the very poor quality embryo, we really shouldn't have frozen that one but at the time we didn't look at the bigger picture.

@Cloclo93 I've had it both ways and actually preferred this way as I've tried to forget not that anxious every time the phone rings,

I had my day 3 call today from the clinic , I collected 24 , 20 were mature , and today at day 3, I have 16 doing great :) now I’m hoping some of them get to day 5! Praying 🙏
