Hi ladies I thought I'd create this thread to support anyone doing ivf in May 2024, it's great to have other people to talk to going ture the same thing!
My background I'm 31 with low AMH of 3, suffering from secondary infertility 2.5 years ttc had a failed IVF cycle in February where my 4 mature eggs just failed to fertilized so we have been advised to do ICSI for our next cycle! I decided to give my body a break and get back into end of April/may depending on how my cycle returns:)

@hopefullsosbry @BakinABaby sorry to seem a bit dumb, what are these downreg injections? I was just placed on the pill for 1 month before, I start cetrodide today did anyone get recommended a time to take this one, I cannot remember from my last round

@camelinastorm my 1st round two years ago I had the pill .. the down regs are just sort of the same .. basically what the nurse told me was it puts your body in a mini menapuse.. to sort of kick start everything (hormones) so they can be 100% clear when your period /cycle starts .. to then being with the stimulating drugs (stims) to stimulate the ovaries.. so your pill may be classed as a down reg . As it stops the period .. then when you come off it your period starts (so they are trigging your period and know / are clear when your cycle begins .. does that make sense .. am rubbish at explaining 😂 not sure what the cetrodide is av not had that , do you take them every day until your scan ? If so then probably your ovary stim drugs , I am on ovaleap and I know with that one it’s in the evening , same time every day it’s to be, so i do it 7pm every day. Hope that helps 😁

@hopefullsosbry ah yes understand yes my pill would have been the down reg, my cetrodide is the one after (last few days) the stimulation the one to stop you naturally ovulating until the trigger before the EC

So I take menopur for stims and the cetrodide to ensure the eggs stay put until EC, hope hope this makes sense

@hopefullsosbry my EC is due to be next Wednesday scan depending on Monday.

Hi everyone hope everyone is doing okay? I had my 1st scan yesterday day 7 of Stims, showed I had 11 follicles the largest been 13mm and smallest 2 is 4mm so very varied in size! My last cycle I had 11 follicles and got 4 eggs so I would be so happy to get 4 eggs again 🤞
I also started cetrodide on Thursday but I think it's given me horrible anxiety has anyone experienced this? Or it could just be worrying too much about the ivf, it's so mentally exhausting.
How is everyone else doing?? X

@Cloclo93 thats good things are progressing.. sounds like they are all going in the right direction anyways ! Woop ..well done you !! I have not had certrodideso I can’t really comment sorry, but I hope you are ok ? Some mindful meditation always helps for me when I feel a bit anxious.. I am good. Just plodding on with the stims, the bleeding I had seems to have tailed of today so that’s a good sign but i actually don’t feel any mild cramps now that I was feeling before so I am now wondering if the stims are even working now ? Scan on Monday will tell me what’s going on so I just have to wait ! Do you feel your mind goes into overdrive about everything that can go wrong ??? Whether it is the added hormones or just the stress of it all who knows but mentally I can’t wait till it’s over whatever the outcome so I can be at peace in my head again 🥴

Oh yeah definitely my mind goes into over drive especially from my failed cycle I was even saying this morning to my friend I'm dreading this cycle I'm more scared then excited but I know things can go wrong and unfortunately that's just the risk of ivf it's frightening the thought of running out of time (well running out of eggs!) Some days it all builds up and gets on top of you 😵‍💫
It's good your bleeding has stopped I'm sure bleeding can be normal considering all the hormones and women steroids were injecting into our reproduction system 😂 I had a small bit of pink discharge last night, on my natural cycle I would be due to ovulate today so I hope I don't!🤞 what time is your scan tomorrow?? Is this to give you a day for EC?

Yeh I think every scenario goes round your head as you say. Yeh scan tomorrow is just to check that the ovaries are plumping up fine .. they said 80/90 % of people need to go home and have another couple days of them so I hope Wednesday will scan again with EC Friday ? That’s just in my head but they coukd tell me differently.. last cycle I was 10 days so if all goes same l assume Wednesday night for trigger ? Did they say when your EC will be at your last scan ?

@Lcm11 have you had anymore updates on how your wee embryos are doing ?

I just can't wait for the injections to stop as I am bruised all over and it's getting very noticeable 🤣

@camelinastorm thank you , and same to you ! 🤞🏽.. I seem to be ok with the actual injections .. it’s my mood that’s been a bit up and down though .. I’ll keep you all posted after my scan !

Hi, so today is day 5. They froze one top grade embryo on day 3 and called this morning to say they are also going to freeze a day 5 blast at 4CC grade, which Google seems to say is very low quality. There's two more that have reached blast stage but they're not currently good enough to freeze. They're going to give them until tomorrow.

Feeling slightly confused by the whole thing and not sure how to feel. I know we should be really happy with 2 frozen (and potentially 1-2 more tomorrow) but I'm worried that one was frozen on day 3 and the other is a day 5 blast but really low quality.

Any way I will see what tomorrow brings and try to remain optimistic. It's such a mental rollercoaster, I feel exhausted by the whole thing. I've also found the embryologists at Create who have called me very blunt & seems like they want to get off the phone ASAP so they aren't very helpful.

Just back from my scan (day 9 of stims )had 6 very good sized follicles 19mm-22mm and about 6 slightly behind, another say 8ish were very small, has anyone had this much size variety?

@Lcm11 that’s good you have two so far .. I got told not to get to hung up on the grades as you can get grade A’s don’t make pregnancy and grades C’s can do and do the grade doesn’t determine the quality as such , it’s just a means for the embryologist to grade the development.. also last round we had the same , two that were looking a bit ‘duff’ on day 5 and they said they would leave it till day 6 and one the became a grade A !

@camelinastorm that’s really good you got 6 that are good size, when is your trigger ? Or will they keep you going on injections? I think it’s normal to have a range , I think it’s deciding whether to leave you longer or take from the initial 6 that they have to determine what outcome will give the most eggs ???

I had my 1st scan today and have 1 follicle at 14mm and 6 are under 10mm that’s from left ovary .. right ovary not doing anything .. I have to continue with jags and another scan on Wednesday but she thinks I’ll still have to continue with jags and EC next Monday is her guess but will see what the upcoming scans say. also booked in for ICSI as male factor but she said will see on the day as last time his sample was good for ivf so it’s just a waiting game (still) for us .. they will just let the 14mm one go over and discount so we can get the smaller 6 .. 🤞🏽 I wonder if there is any research done on whether the 1st folicle eggs to ripen are more likely to have live birth then folicle eggs that develop later in the stims ?? Just out of curiosity would be interesting to know or if this doesn’t make a difference? 🤔

That's positive you have 6, I'm sure you'll get some on your right side too. I had the same during my stims as you but opposite sides, nothing exciting on my left side until the 3rd scan. Are you staying on the same dose?

@camelinastorm yes I had a really big variety of follicles sizes too. They discounted the really small ones when we were talking about follicles, how many eggs to collect etc. and just counted the large and medium ones. Always makes me laugh how it sounds like I'm talking about chickens. 🤣

Sounds really positive for you both. Won't be long until EC!🤞🏼

Thanks @Lcm11 it's crazy when the come at you with all the sizes I'm like just telle what ones are good and what are bad. Yes don't be to hungry up on the grades I had a 4bb transfered and nothing

@hopefullsosbry trigger is tonight egg collection Wednesday wish they would let the others catch up but then it's risking the ones the correct size

@Lcm11 oh thats interesting that your other ovray wasn’t doing much till 3rd scan .. hopefully I’ll have a similar outcome .. I did ask the nurse is it likely to start developing and she was a bit like ‘probably not now’ kinda swaying her head but didn’t seem that it would do so that’s good news , thanks for that .. yeh staying on same dose.. 300Ui of ovaleap .. did you get ‘upped’ on your dose ?

@camelinastorm they told me that the follicles keep growing even after the trigger shot so they still have 1.5 days so they might catch up. Good luck with the trigger tonight - how exciting!

@hopefullsosbry funny how they all say different things. Worst case scenario you still have 6/7 on the left side so that's good. You might maybe get some more on the left too? No I stayed on the same dose as well.

@camelinastorm best of luck with the trigger and EC on Wednesday 🤞🏽.. yes I have heard also they keep developing, seemingly average rate of follicle growth on stims in 2mm a day .. so you might get over your initial 6 woop !! Go girl 😁

I'm on day 7 of stimming. Two more shots and then a scan on Thurs. Now I'm wondering if it's perhaps too bold of the doctor to leave the first scan so late (day 9) given it's my first cycle and she doesn't know how/if I'll respond. She seemed to take some professional pride in saying usually she only needs to do one scan, but I hope it's founded. I did do some research before picking her. Anyways, excited for Wednesday. Other than that the shots are just making me so sleepy and dumb, hitting the bed at 10 while I usually stay up until 1.

@BakinABaby good luck for Thursday .. I think they can kind of tell but your AMH number ? I might be wrong but I am sure they can judge how your body will react to the stims from that ? High numbers usually need less stims and low AMH usually need higher dose with longer protocol? Am sure you will be ok as long as you don’t have any really bad cramps etc ?

@BakinABaby I only have my first scan on stim day 9 they confirmed and measured all the larger follicles, I don't see the need in earlier scans, my previous clinic insis6on a scan on CD 2 so full flow ( not the nicest experience) then day 6 and day 9 ... Imo it was too much, as they literally showed nothing
