TTC Active Letrozole Thread

Struggling to find an active Letrozole thread. Recently been prescribed Letrozole as I have low progesterone and signs of ovulation not being as effective as it could be, albeit I still ovulate on my own.

Would love to hear success stories or chat to people who are going through TTC with letrozole now x

So I tested this morning and got a faint line - looks like it is in the wrong place on the test though so might be an evap or some kind of error. Will see if I can hold off and test in 48 hours 🤞🏻

hopeanddreams · 18/06/2024 11:55

Little update:
Cycle 5 of the highest dose of Letrozole 10mg - no response. Being taken off Let now as no point continuing, disappointment after disappointment.

Daniki · 18/06/2024 12:03

@hopeanddreams will they try you on a diff med? I done 4 cycles of letrozole with no pregnancy so they switched me tamoxifen. Done 3 cycles of it with the trigger, I had a chemical on cycle 2.

hopeanddreams · 18/06/2024 14:20

@Daniki I have no idea at the moment. I'm in the nhs system, the specialist nurse looking after me said she will 'try' to get me an appointment in July with the consultant to discuss if there's any other options prior to being referred for IVF.

That is kinda a good thing, shows you can get pregnant - fingers crossed it works for you next time. Were you ovulating on letrozole?

Daniki · 18/06/2024 14:24

@hopeanddreams I wasn't being scanned on it but they did the 21 day progesterone tests and while they were over 30, just about, they weren't happy with the level. In tamoxifen I was being scanned and it did show ovulation.
I'm doing a natural cycle atm as we're getting the ball rolling for either IUI or IVF, I have an assessment scan next week with the clinic. Hoping for a miracle in that I get pregnant this month 😂
It's not easy is it! I'm in Ireland so system works differently to NHS. We've went private ( 💰 🥲) because we don't qualify for public funded treatment as we have a child together xx

hopeanddreams · 18/06/2024 14:33

@Daniki Ah I see - I was scanned during the letrozole to start with, doses 2.5mg & 5mg I didn't ovulate, 7.5mg they confirmed I did so since then I haven't been monitored. But my next 7.5mg no ovulation as didn't get my period, had to induce my cycle yet again and up the dose to 10mg which again didn't work and am now on day 56 with no signs of my period at all.

Ironically whilst typing this the hospital called to offer me an appointment with the consultant on 1st July! So I'll know what's happening next then.

Yes fingers crossed for you - would be nice not to have to go through IVF! I don't know if I exactly want to go through that just yet - can see it'll be difficult to cope with and keep working full time etc too xx

Daniki · 18/06/2024 14:52

@hopeanddreams oh great that's not too far away! Have you PCOS or anything? I really don't want to have to have IVF either but if we do, I'm off work from next week until September as I work in a school so at least I can get majority of it done through the my time off 🙈 are you taking any supplements or anything? Iv had my AMH tested 3 times since September and it's increased every time, wondering if supplements have done it! Xx

hopeanddreams · 18/06/2024 15:00

@Daniki Yes they have said I have PCOS. Funnily enough since the last failed round of letrozole off my own back i've started taking myo-inositol so will see if that helps (new to it so only 2 weeks in so far). What supplements have you been taking?
Oh at least you are off for a while, would be great if you can get the majority of the meds out of the way xx

Daniki · 18/06/2024 17:38

@hopeanddreams Iv reach good reports on myo inistol so hopefully it helps! 🙌 I'm taking vit D, high strength folic acid, proceive conception & coq10. I was taking NMN aswell for a few months but have ran out, and ordered from overseas so really need to add it in again! God knows if it makes a difference but sure anyway 😂

harrietm87 · 18/06/2024 20:20

I take inofolic which contains myoinositol plus some other stuff (which they say makes it better). I have very mild pcos (ovulate regularly on my own) but it shortened my cycles from 30 days to textbook 28 days.

Strong positive for me today at 12dpo, letrozole cycle 1 with 1 follicle - can’t quite believe it!

@harrietm87 wow! You're so responsive to letrozole, that's amazing. What was the reason you were on letrozole if it's ok to ask?
Congrats and hope it's going well.

I'm sure I'm just having line eyes at 9dpo but can anyone see anything?
