Struggling to find an active Letrozole thread. Recently been prescribed Letrozole as I have low progesterone and signs of ovulation not being as effective as it could be, albeit I still ovulate on my own.

Would love to hear success stories or chat to people who are going through TTC with letrozole now x

@worldwidetravel2017 the first cycle I took it in the morning and this time o thought I'd try it at bedtime to see if it helped but somehow it's worse.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't ovulate this cycle, I can't imagine that the Pregnacare would have had an effect but who knows. Are you taking other supplements?

I have pcos
I believe i will ovulate
Its just delayed / taking forever

Im on metformin prescribed and myo inostol instructed from gynae and also fertility consultant

I take folic acid and vit d.

My ovulation boobs and ovulation tests say my body is trying to ovulate / its incoming

My feretin and b12 are being tested this month

In april before i started on metformin and myo inostol.- i had a 50 day cycle.
My feretin was low then

I have a bowel that keeps making polyps- had 3 x colonoscopies in a 12 month period

I have ibs ane cfs

Insulin resistance due to pcos

Just tons going on

I had a follicle scan today, one follicle at 15mm ( I am on cycle day 11). Last time
I had 2 and they were mature enough for ovulation trigger in day 10.
Will trigger ovulation in 2 days time and hopefully it will have grown a bit more in that time :/

Hi how is everyone getting on?

currently CD11 today and I’m getting so confused with the LH tests, I really wish I didn’t start testing from CD1 as the letrozole clearly messed up the levels early on which made me feel like I was ovulating super early now the tests seem really light compared to before and I’m running out so I’m panicking!

If we DTD every night do we have a good chance or does this decrease a man’s sperm?

For reference

these pics are Sunday, Monday then today

@LucyLou0527 Letrozole can cause fake LH peaks I think you need to wait a week after the last Letrozole tablet for it to be a true peak I believe.

They say every other day is sufficient; if there are any issues with the sperm every other day is better and obviously daily will reduce the amount of semen

Just finished my first round of letrozole (5mg), one follicle only (due to low AMH) at 24mm on CD12, lining 10mm. I triggered same day and now waiting. No PCOS, regular periods and all tests normal. This is my first treatment so trying really really hard to be hopeful that it's the boost we needed 😅 Sending my best wishes to everyone!

Familyfirst12 · 11/09/2024 16:57

Hi everyone, I am hopefully going to be taking Letrozole this cycle. I have slightly irregular cycles. Generally about 35/36 days but about every third cycle will be very long 40-45 days. Have been told I have PCOS and put on Metformin and I also take Myo Inositol. Neither seem to have helped to regulate my cycle but I do generally get a confirmed ovulation. When should I expect to ovulate after taking the Letrozole? Does it force ovulation by a certain cycle day? Sorry totally new to the medication so no idea!!

Are you with an NHS fertility clinic? Where I live the waiting time for fertility referrals is 12 months so we had to go private.

I’m 35. From what I read the tablets can be very effective for those with PCOS so I was confused about why I was given the same treatment. It turns that when you already ovulate they create a competition between follicles so the best egg gets released 🤷‍♂️

@BreakfastOats best of luck! I'm the same as you, no PCOS (but I do have PCO), regular ovulation/cycles etc. I do have low progesterone, finally been prescribed progesterone from 2dpo this cycle. On month 7 of letrozole now (7.5mg).

IVF funding appointment is January so just trying to get through these last few months 😂

@worldwidetravel2017 no before letrozole I never had a positive pregnancy test. I think maybe I wasn't producing mature enough eggs :/

susie1984234 · 12/09/2024 12:22

@BreakfastOats that's a nice big follicle!
I also don't habe PCOS and have low AMH.

I got pregnant on my first round of Letrozole (although ended in a loss)

I'm the same as you, had scan on Monday (CD11) I had a 15mm follicle and 9mm lining, dr wanted me to wait until last night to trigger, hopefully my follicle grew nicely in that time.

Best of luck to you!

worldwidetravel2017 · 12/09/2024 13:57

Tube flush will be private due to nhs wait times - i cant wait 5 - 6 months

Thank you and best of luck to you too! How did you find out you have low progesterone? I only tested my levels once since we started ttc and that was on day 21 to confirm ovulation. They were normal at the time.

So sorry you suffered a loss and fingers crossed for this attempt! Doctors say that low AMH shouldn't prevent natural conception so let's hope we'll get lucky soon!
