I am very much a newbie to this (first post), I am 34F in a same-sex relationship and we did our first unmedicated IUI last week (now 4dpo).

Is anyone else currently in the TTW and would like to chat?

I honestly didn't realise how slowly time would go, feels like these 4 days have taken forever.

@Twomumfamily was this your first go at IUI?

Heya! I'm currently 10 days post peak LH (I can't bring myself to say dpo as my progesterone is low and can't even be sure if I actually ovulate). Long term TTC-er, 2.5 years with my ex, then ended in missed miscarriage. 6 months TTC this time (but off contraception for 18 months), ended in missed miscarriage again. Have most likely had a chemical too as my cycle was like clockwork but had one month where I was 4 days late and had a super heavy period.
Soooooo I am currently waiting on appointments at both the recurrent miscarriage and fertility clinics, know I am unlikely to get pregnant and find it hard to have faith it'll stick if I do. This journey is not fun!

@AnnieStar12 Yes it is my first try, my Wife and I are finding this TWW way harder than anticipated. How did you find the IUI? Are you using fresh or frozen/donor sperm - we are using frozen donor which only lasts 24 hours.

Did the logical part of my brain tell the impulsive part of my brain that it’s almost physiologically impossible to have a positive pregnancy test at 6PO? It sure did. Did I just find myself staring at a BFN anyway? Of course I did!! God this TWW does wonderful things to your brain doesn’t it 😂

@PrincessPrawn you made me laugh, this is so relatable!! I think I might have done something even worse during this TWW! I started testing 6 DPO even though I had a trigger shot as part of timing my IUI procedure so I know that can result in false positives as the HCG can stay in your body for up to 10 days. It hasn’t stopped me testing and therefore seeing incredibly faint positive lines which are totally meaningless as it’s very likely the trigger shot as it’s too early for pregnancy to be detected. Im usually a sane and rational person, not sure why I’ve been doing this to myself!! Im now 8DPO so hopefully not much longer…

@Twomumfamily ah yea the TWW is awful. I’ve been TTC since Feb so very used to this now, but it doesn’t get easier!! We did fresh sperm with our IUI as my partner is male. Tbh, I found the procedure fine - the worst part was having to have the full bladder so all I could think about was having a wee. Which I think might have been a good thing as I was so distracted. Luckily didn’t have any pain and it was over within 10 mins. I’m sorry it sounds like you had a slightly worse time. Fingers crossed you will be first time lucky!!

@Muddysocks1 that's such a cool chart! I love stats, although I don't think that's the best thing in this case because I have to fight the urge to think of all the bad things that could happen.

Hi! Joining in, currently in cycle #2 ttc for our second and in the TWW at 3DPO. DS (21.5 months) was conceived in cycle 2 (using easy@home OPKs, which I have also used this time too) so for some absurd reason feeling the pressure? We seem to have timed everything as best we can, so now just very impatiently waiting. I forgot how all consuming this can be, told myself I'd be super relaxed about it this time, but here I am! 😂

Haha I'm the same @zobodo - keep saying I'm relaxed but also counting down the minutes of every DPO 😂

I'm only 4dpo today, so really need to take a chill pill cause my period isn't even due until the 13th.

I've had some period like cramps on and off today, nothing major. Hoping its a good sign.

It’s so hard not to think about it! Going to have to focus on catching up on Netflix shows in the meantime to keep myself busy, last month I was fine because I was planning my wedding but it’s now been and gone so I’m twiddling my thumbs now 😂 crossing my fingers for us both!

I am only 3dpo, in cycle 5 of ttc baby number 2. Had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in April so have been trying since.
I was very lucky to have gotten pregnant first cycle both times before, so finding this process hard.

@Polkadots458 , are story is exactly the same i’m finding hard to understand how i could conceive cycle 1 for DD & MMC in April then nothing ! I’m assuming it’s my age because im 38 it’s so draining wanting something and being disappointed every cycle 😓

So sorry 😞. I try to tell myself it’s all down to luck each month. Like trying to roll a dice for a number 6 - we will get there eventually!
Don’t assume your age is a factor - I’m late twenties and in the same boat!

How is everyone doing? I have been having super painful boobs since 3dpo, which I know is way too early. Think I must be having a really weird cycle this month as had shooting pains in them this morning (6dpo). Such a head spinner!

I've been having like a weird period pain feeling over the past day or so. Not painful, but just there, like the feeling of the run up to my period (but I'm not due until 13th).

@Twomumfamily ooh, that doesn't sound fun. And I know it's so hard to not read too much into symptoms.

I had a horrid headache yesterday which is unusual at this point in my cycle but I have a long history of headaches, so trying not too think much about it. I was nauseous too, but that was probably from the headache.

i couldn't help myself from taking a test this morning. There was what looked like a smudge on it, but I'm not really sure. I took two pictures and in one I can see it and in another I can't. I'm gonna try to hold off until Friday to test again but not sure I'll be able too.

@fr4zzledmum i thought I was having that yesterday. The best way I can describe it was like a murmuring - I usually get faint period pain a day or two before my period starts, so subtle but I’m like “right I’ll get my period in the next 2 days” except this was 5 days before. Probably nothing but hard not to read into it!

In one, I saw a smudge but not really a line, in the other I don't see anything. I'm just trying not to read to much into it. I'm only 8dpo and AF is due on the 10th, so I'm telling myself I'll know one way or another before too long.

I can see the smudge in the first pic too, but you're right, it's not a clear line and it's early days yet! Hang in there.
