Hi everyone
I think our previous thread is full? I can't find a new one anyone has started but sorry if I've missed it. I'll tag some of us below but please add anyone I've missed

@LucyLoopyLu good luck!! I hope you don’t need your appointment!

@SarahShorty best of luck for your transfer 🤞🏼 sounds positive with the lining responding well!

@DesertSnow sorry to hear you’ve been struggling, but glad you are having good days! Hopefully they outweigh the bad 💕

LucyLoopyLu · 20/10/2023 16:40

Hi hope everyone is doing OK.

Not the best over here. We DTD twice in my fertile window but my husband tested positive for covid so we skipped yesterday as I have work meetings next week I'd rather not have to miss (hoping my tests will stay negative). So we've missed the best timing but still have a small chance. If we even have a chance at this stage.

Still waiting for the chlamydia test to be showing on my record before I call the clinic back for an appointment. That's partly my fault as I had in my mind I would drop the sample in at the same time as I had my blood taken, but then of course I was on my period so i had to wait until it was over, and then I was away for a few days. But I'm hoping it won't be too much longer now. I can see the rubella test on my NHS app so that's good.

Oh I should also say I'm now worried about covid impacting my husband's sperm quality the next few months. I think he was meant to have a third SA but I feel like it will be massively disheartening if his numbers go down. 🥲

@LucyLoopyLu sorry to hear your having a hard time.
but just wanted to let you know I got pregnant the cycle I had covid my dh probably had it aswell but never tested so hopefully it won't rule this month out for you

LucyLoopyLu · 20/10/2023 19:31

@krissy12 thanks lovely, yeah it hopefully / probably won't make any difference but I've seen quite a lot about it impacting sperm quality so that's a worry. I'm not really expecting to be lucky this cycle but I was hoping if I have the hycosy that might give me a boost and I don't want to waste those cycles.

He's taking good multivitamins now anyway so hopefully that will help.

How are you?

OP posts:
krissy12 · 21/10/2023 09:07

@LucyLoopyLu yeah hopefully it all helps I understand not wanting to waste cycles keeping everything crossed you get your bfp soon everything seems to take forever when ttc
im doing ok thanks 19 weeks now

DesertSnow · 22/10/2023 22:28

@LucyLoopyLu Really sorry you're having a tough time. I've heard of a few people getting their BFP in a cycle they were ill - it happened for me and my husband too. Just to say don't write off this cycle - after all it only takes one sperm. Maybe if the immune system is busy with something else it's less likely to kill sperm? I also got my DH on multivitamins for a couple of months before we conceived. Sorry if you've said before, but do you take any vitamins or supplements yourself? I was taking quite a few when I conceived (who knows what actually made it successful, but for me personally it felt positive that I was doing something to aid the process).

SarahShorty · 23/10/2023 11:19

Just a quick check-in xx I had two frozen embryos transferred last week on Wednesday. Now being on a higher dose of medications, I'm taking 2 estrogen tablets three times a day, 1 progesterone pessary twice a day, 2 estrogen patches once every three days and an intramuscular progesterone injection once every three days. My pregnancy blood test is on the 30th of October. If this cycle is successful, I'll remain on all of this medication for the next 3 months. If it isn't, then... I don't know. More misery I guess.

@LucyLoopyLu I'm sorry it's been tough for you xx My fingers are crossed for you.

Houseelf90 · 23/10/2023 14:45

@SarahShorty good luck!! Really hoping this is the cycle for you ❤️ that’s a lot of meds but will be so so worth it if you get a baby at the end 🥰

SarahShorty · 23/10/2023 15:06

@Houseelf90 Thank you sweetheart xx

krissy12 · 23/10/2023 18:47

@SarahShorty fingers crossed for you this cycle
I had progesterone pessaries this pregnancy and I'm sure that's what saved it my bleeding stopped once I was put on it

LucyLoopyLu · 23/10/2023 19:02

@SarahShorty thanks lovely! It's just dragging on now. 18 months trying feels like a long time.

Thanks for updating. Honestly just so hope this cycle is the one for you. Sending you all the good thoughts and hope these next fews days go quickly for you. X x x x

@krissy12 wow 19 weeks! That has flown by! Hope everything has been relatively smooth sailing?

LucyLoopyLu · 23/10/2023 19:07

@DesertSnow hi, thanks lovely. I'm hoping covid won't make any difference, I guess we'll never know. I'm kind of assuming I won't get BFP now, but I have a little more hope for the cycles after hycosy if we ever get that far.
He wasn't taking anything for ages (except vit d in winter) but has been doing for a few weeks now. The GP never recommended it etc so he didn't take any and was a bit reluctant for various reasons. Thankfully now he's taking some they don't seem to be disagreeing with him (he has a stomach condition). I have been taking supplements since January 2022 🙄 spent a fortune

OP posts:
krissy12 · 23/10/2023 19:36

@LucyLoopyLu yeah it's not been too bad I had to be on progesterone until 16 weeks but feel better now I'm off that
have you looked into conceive plus tablets?the reviews do seem too good to be true but I was planning on getting them to try before getting pregnant

LucyLoopyLu · 23/10/2023 21:59

@krissy12 No I haven't taken conceive plus but I've tried an expensive one called Ovum which is basically all the things in "it starts with the egg". I took them for over a year but obviously no joy and they're £40 a month and made me feel sick / heartburn at least half the time after taking so I'd had enough.

I'm taking quite a few things separately now instead. Maybe I'll have a look at conceive plus. Thing is if you look at reviews of any pregnancy supplements you'll see loads from people saying they got pregnant straight away. But correlation does not equal causation. How you can be sure it's doing you good I don't know.

Sorry if that seems pessimistic!

Hi all hope you're doing well.
Got my appointment for hyfosy which is 16th Nov. Fingers crossed for a blast through those tubes helping us out. I'm sure I'll be nervous but I just want to get it over with now

OP posts:
krissy12 · 30/10/2023 20:35

@LucyLoopyLu so glad you have got your appointment through and not having to wait too long

DesertSnow · 31/10/2023 20:38

@LucyLoopyLu glad you've got a date for your appointment, I'm sure it's nervewracking but at least it's not too long to wait, and hopefully it's helpful.

krissy12 · 17/11/2023 06:35

@LucyLoopyLu just checking in to see how your appointment went

hope everyone else is doing okay

LucyLoopyLu · 17/11/2023 20:23

@krissy12 aw thanks for checking in.

The appointment was OK I guess. I was pretty nervous because I hate hospitals etc., but it definitely wasn't worth being nervous about really. A bit painful and unpleasant but over pretty quickly. I've had some pain on and off since but nothing too bad, just like period pain that comes and goes.

The lady who did the scan could see both tubes in the end and she said they were clear. It did take a while for her to be able to see them (the way she said it sounded like maybe longer than normal) so I'm hoping that means there was gunk in there that they've flushed out.

She's processed a referral to assisted conception and seemed to think it might not take long for an appointment. So just waiting for that letter now. I hope we won't need it and get lucky in the next few cycles.
She said she thinks I've already ovulated this month and obv we haven't been able to try yet (otherwise they won't do the test) so will have to wait till December.

How are you doing? X

OP posts:
krissy12 · 18/11/2023 08:54

@LucyLoopyLu that's good it wasn't as bad as you were anticipating.

krissy12 · 18/11/2023 08:56

@LucyLoopyLu sorry my message sent before I finished typing
hopefully you won't need to wait too long for your appointment when I was referred a few years ago I was referred in the January and had an appointment for the start of April.
I did get pregnant in the February after ttc for well over a year so can happen fingers crossed for you

LucyLoopyLu · 18/11/2023 16:37

@krissy12 aw brilliant, thanks for letting me know. I'd be quite happy if the appointment was in February tbh, obv won't complain if its sooner but I'm happy to let the next 3 cycles play out now the hyfosy is done and hopefully we will get lucky without having the trials and tribulations of IVF 🤞

Hope you're doing OK x

Sorry I’ve been so quiet. I’ve felt a bit overwhelmed and fed up with TTC to be honest. Saw my GP and had bloods done which all came back clear. Not sure what next steps are now? She hasn’t really said.

DP is having his own set of tests done so will see what they bring. I’ve found it hard not to symptom spot and read too much in to every little twinge. But… did a test yesterday and tested positive! Really trying not to get my hopes up though after the chemical a few months ago.
