Hi everyone
I think our previous thread is full? I can't find a new one anyone has started but sorry if I've missed it. I'll tag some of us below but please add anyone I've missed

@HeathenPlayingHouse I’ve been thinking about you, I just knew you’d get a BFP!!! Congratulations 💕

HeathenPlayingHouse · 28/09/2023 18:08

@Houseelf90 Thank you ❤️

krissy12 · 28/09/2023 22:17

@HeathenPlayingHouse massive congratulations

@LucyLoopyLu how did your appointment go?

HeathenPlayingHouse · 28/09/2023 22:35

Thank you @krissy12 ❤️

DesertSnow · 28/09/2023 22:39

Brilliant news @HeathenPlayingHouse, congrats!

@LucyLoopyLu How did your appointment go? Been thinking of you.

HeathenPlayingHouse · 28/09/2023 22:46

Thank you @DesertSnow ❤️

It got a little clearer after a while. I'm 4 weeks exactly today, not feeling too much symptom-wise but I did just get hit with a red meat craving out of nowhere. My mouth was watering imagining a BMT sub, and I ended up scouring the kitchen cupboard to find a tin of corned beef! 😂

Hi all, sorry I dropped off for a while. I needed a bit of a break. I've been a bit down.

@HeathenPlayingHouse congratulations on your BFP! How are you feeling now?

HeathenPlayingHouse · 01/10/2023 20:23

@LucyLoopyLu Thank you ❤️ I'm sorry you've been down, sending you hugs.

I'm doing ok, mostly just tired. And quite hungry, to be honest 😂

DesertSnow · 01/10/2023 22:30

@LucyLoopyLu I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling down, thinking of you and hope you managed to find some lighter moments this weekend xx

LucyLoopyLu · 02/10/2023 11:07

@HeathenPlayingHouse @DesertSnow

Thanks both. I just feel a bit down and that I'm really not getting anywhere.
I have to sort out a chlamydia test and a rubella test before the fertility department will book further investigations and I have no idea what the wait will be for the appointment because they couldn't tell me. It has just really frustrated me. I could have sorted both of those during the wait for the first consultation. But obviously the NHS isn't joined up enough for that.

I feel like they have no incentive to push on either because they just hope anyone with unexplained infertility will get pregnant while they're waiting. I just hope that's true for me.

I just feel totally worn out

OP posts:
DesertSnow · 02/10/2023 23:08

@LucyLoopyLu That's really frustrating they couldn't give you an idea about the wait time, and that they didn't tell you to get those tests sorted before. As you say, it's probably a case of NHS services not being well joined up, but so annoying! I'm really sorry you're feeling worn out by it all, I'm not surprised you're fed up. Do vent on here if it helps, but equally don't feel you have to share if you don't want to. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

krissy12 · 03/10/2023 18:41

@LucyLoopyLu sorry to hear your appointment didn't go as expected how frustrating
also the rubella test seems a bit random is that essential? if its to test for immunity the majority of people will have it from the mmr vaccine unless I'm missing something which I might well be

SarahShorty · 03/10/2023 20:44

The rubella test is required before embarking on any fertility treatment. I had a blood test to check for it when I first started IVF. The blood test came back clear, but if it didn't, then I'd have had to have got a rubella vaccination.

This taking straight from Dr Google:

"Pregnant women who contract rubella are at risk for miscarriage or stillbirth, and their developing babies are at risk for severe birth defects with devastating, lifelong consequences. CRS can affect almost everything in the developing baby's body. The most common birth defects from CRS can include: Deafness."

krissy12 · 04/10/2023 06:47

aww okay thank you I've never heard of it didn't think it was such a risk anymore with the vaccine but it must be

LucyLoopyLu · 04/10/2023 22:02

@krissy12 @SarahShorty @DesertSnow
Thanks ladies for the sympathy. CD1 today so obviously I'm feeling disappointed but also much better now the PMT is over. I feel like I regain some rational brain every CD1 so that's a bonus.

How are you all doing?

@HeathenPlayingHouse glad you're doing ok. Really pleased you have got your BFP. Have been thinking of you

DesertSnow · 04/10/2023 22:13

@LucyLoopyLu Sorry AF arrived, but at least you're onto a new cycle and can try again. Treat yourself to something nice!

I'm still struggling with my issues, but trying to take it one day a time.

LucyLoopyLu · 04/10/2023 22:35

@DesertSnow sorry to hear that. Are they trying you on different medication this time? Really hope this one works out better for you

OP posts:
HeathenPlayingHouse · 05/10/2023 09:13

@LucyLoopyLu Thank you lovely, I've got my fingers crossed for you for this cycle ❤️

SarahShorty · 05/10/2023 13:26

@LucyLoopyLu I'm sorry about AF arriving, I know it's tough. My fingers are crossed for your fresh cycle.

I've started a new cycle at my clinic and they've put me on a much higher dose of oestrogens to get the lining nice and plump. Hopefully this one won't be cancelled.

DesertSnow · 06/10/2023 18:49

@LucyLoopyLu they've increased my antidepressant and have added an antipsychotic - largely for its sleepy side effect. Seeing the psychiatrist on Monday to review. Fingers crossed for you and @SarahShorty

LucyLoopyLu · 14/10/2023 15:13

@HeathenPlayingHouse Thank you! I need some luck now. I'll be ringing fertility clinic back this week to hopefully get an appointment booked in for hycosy. Really hope I don't need it and get lucky this cycle

@SarahShorty how are you doing? Hope this cycle is going well so far. Fingers crossed for you

@DesertSnow hope you are doing better with the new medication and the psychiatrist is on the case. Look after yourself

SarahShorty · 14/10/2023 17:44

@LucyLoopyLu hey sweetheart xx Best of luck for your appointment, although as you say, hopefully you'll get pregnant before then.

My transfer date is Wednesday next week. My lining responded really well to the higher dose of medications. My OTD (official test day) is 30th October. I'm transferring two this time. Hopefully both stick and grow.

LucyLoopyLu · 14/10/2023 17:51

@SarahShorty ah brilliant news on the lining this time! Really pleased for you. Nice and comfy for those two embryos 🤞 hope the time goes fast for you

OP posts:
DesertSnow · 14/10/2023 20:59

@LucyLoopyLu Thank you. Good days and bad days, but always one day at a time.

@SarahShorty Great news about the lining, fingers crossed!
