following on from Soosy's last message does this mean that you have something to tell us??

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/02/2008 19:40

PMSL! I was thinking there was something you weren't telling us Ceebee.

ceebee74 · 28/02/2008 19:47

No - have just realised what this looks like but only on CD18 fgs!

OP posts:
majormoo · 28/02/2008 19:48

phew thanks Ceebee otherwise I would have felt the pressure of starting a new thread.

Soosy your poor friend. Hope she finds another clinic that will treat her.

DH going out with his brother to talk stag dos (his brother is getting married in September). I hope they are not planning a weekend in Marrakesh/Rio/Miami etc!!

juanitad · 28/02/2008 19:51

Hi to the new thread.

Oh dear, bit of an argument with DH this evening: he was telling me something about work, and said I looked bored and didn't seem interested. The truth is I was quite bored, whoops. Must try to hide it better next time. The atmosphere has soured a little bit (despite my reassurances that I wasn't bored!!!). If I am to be a paid up member of this thread, with it's new title, then BD must go ahead tonight, so I guess I'd better start massaging that ego of his (and something else maybe...!

juanitad · 28/02/2008 19:52

ooo, just read my post, and saw a horrible apostrophe in the wrong place. sorry about that!

HumphreysCorner · 28/02/2008 20:58

Crikey, only just noticed the new thread. Doh! So this is pasted off the last thread. (soosy-so sad about your friend. I can imagine the torment she is going through but she terminated for totally the right reasons and should not blame herself in any way.

I was going to say myself that the last BFP announcer had to start the new thread-majormoo, are your there? )

Right, have taken the plunge and ordered 50 OV sticks from here Here's hoping they shed some light!

juanitad-you can make it up to DH later I'm sure.

HC - thanks for the link. Have just bought 45 ov sticks and 5 pg tests (well you never know ) - absolute bargain!

OP posts:
soosy · 28/02/2008 21:27

Bloody Hell 50 OV sticks! I don't think I ever used that many, not in seven years. I think the peeing on stick thing may have worn off for me! Found new thread thanks Ceebee!

Have a good evening, hope the sticks arrive in time!

HumphreysCorner · 28/02/2008 22:10

Oh Lordy, have I overestimated a tad? Figured out at least 13 a month over 4 months.

morning ladies. Well done for getting the new thread started!
LOL at the 50 ov sticks. I too am using trillions as I beleive I missed the ov last month so am determined to catch it this month! I'm on CD9 today so getting excited (loving this time of the month!)

Sossy - very sad about your friend and for you. I think I must have missed the whole 7 years thing . Hope you both get some good news soon [hugs]

Have a great day everyone - it's FRIDAY YEY!
...and payday so might go out for a treat tonight!!!

ceebee74 · 29/02/2008 08:51

I am looking at long-term TTC so I figure 45 OV sticks will do me for quite a few months! You should have seen DH's face when I told him I had ordered 45 ov sticks and 5 pg tests - he went white at the thought of the cost of it all (having listened to me moan about how expensive 5 ov sticks were in Boots ) - I soon put him out of his misery and even he thought they were a bargain.

Soosy - how awful for your friend but I am sure she didn't take the decision to have the termination lightly at the time

Morning all.

Mjob - is there a name for the little girl? I like to know girls names as when pg I can never think of one I particularly like - good job I had two boys really!

Can't believe the amount of ov sticks which have been purchased/used!!!

My SIL used them last time and got lucky within a few months from what I remember (I try not to think about her too much LOL!)

Sorry about your friend Soosy - I can't believe clinics taking that attitude re results. Having said that I suppose if there was no chance of the cycle ending in sucess - it may have been for the best.

BTW - is it just me paranoid about spellings/grammar now that we have three teachers on this thread - LOL

OK Myjob - Didn't think about that!

Keep forgetting to ask you - are you going to find out the sex of your little on at the scan? Or did I already ask you and you and forgot?

With DS2 we both decided not to find out then on the scan saw a definite willy, walked out and kicked ourselves for not asking. Fortunately I had another two scans after that so we had our suspicions confirmed.

Sorry to go on, just wondered.

Aren't I a nosey bugger!

Heartmum2Jamie · 29/02/2008 10:27

Soosy, I am sorry about your friend, how sad for her

I am also laughing at the amount of Ov sticks being purchased, but people also beliee that they can be used as pregnancy tests during the 2 ww too althought I am really not sure how that works.

Sorry your MS is bad myjob. Do you mind me asking when your symptoms really started as i am terrified by my complete lack of symptoms still (except the obviously missing AF).

Willmouse, we were unsure if we were going to find out with ds2. On the way to the hospital we stopped behind a white van at some traffic lights which had a rather crude drawing of the male anatomy in the dirt on the back. We took this as a sign we were having a boy. When I was being scaned, I saw the willy when she was measuring his thigh bone, lol! I am definately going to try for a suprise this time, lol!

MrsPuddleduck · 29/02/2008 10:39

On the point of finding out the sex my SIL when expecting her first actually said to me "I am going to find out the sex of the baby at the scan, that way if its a boy when its born I wont be disappointed" The worst of it is that she had a boy !

She has since had a girl (phew!)

I would definitely find out again. It saves loads of money. We didn't bother buying anthing for DS2 - other than he had a brand new babygro to wear when he was first born (thought it would be a bit mean to put him in a hand me down). He is a true second hand rose though!

MrsPuddleduck · 29/02/2008 10:46

I'm off for a while now. DS1's nursery are holding a "Carers Coffee Morning" - PMSL - I can't help but think it sounds like a support group!

soosy · 29/02/2008 11:36

No wilmouse I understand your SIL thinking, when I was pg with DS it was just after my Mum died and I was desperate for a girl, (Greedy or what, I was lucky to be pg!). i sort of knew I would have a boy, and so I wanted to know as I didn't want to wish I was having a girl and then find I had a boy. In the end I didn't care but I did love knowing I had a little boy, It was our secret as we didn't tell anybody else.

MJIM sorry to hear your MS is bad. LOL just made huge mistake, thought by saying MS you meant MS and not morning sickness!!! It's just my mum's cousin has MS and I immediately think of her when I see MS. Is it much worse than last time? Some say if it is really bad then you could be carrying twins! (or at least a girl).

HC the opk's, I was told that to use them you should count back from when your period is due (shortest cycle), 14 days (ovulation) plus three or four days to pick up the LH surge they measure. So if like me you had a thirty day cycle you should start using OPK on CD 13. That way hopefully you only use one or two a month.

HM2J I had a friend who had no pg symptoms for both her pg's and she didn't find out she was pg until she was nine weeks the second time. She finally realised her af was late!!! I don't think you can use opks as pg tests, they measure different hormones.

I too am worried about my appalling spelling and grammar, feel free to correct me teachers. Actually if you teachers could help me and explain what key stages are and how the years go, I would be ecstatic beyond belief, as I am looking at schools for DS and it's a long time since I was at school and things have changed a lot. I did o levels!
Have a lovely day everyone.

S x

MrsPuddleduck · 29/02/2008 11:50

Carers Coffee Morning was lovely. We have a cup of coffee (obviously) with biscuits made by the children and they all sang a song (v sweet). We were then presented with a card and plant in a decorated plant pot.

Felt really sorry for about 8 of the children who's parents couldn't go. One of them cried

MJIM-congrats to your friend.

I am a can't wait, won't wait sort of girl so will be finding out the sex. If it is another girl I will take great delight in sharing the news with my PIL as they want a boy and have said so to my face.

Think I will end up using loads of OV sticks as FF had me OVing on day 25 last month and day 16 so far this month. Don't know how I am going to manage to wee on them mid afternoon-will have to take them out with me.

It is healthy week at DD1's school so at 11am we had to go in dressed in trainers and keep fit gear and do exercises. Me and one of the other mums do not do exercise but we had a laugh trying to look keen. Had to make a healthy picnic too.

Must get on with my trifle for Mothers Day-haven't made one before so am hoping it will be edible.

Heartmum-my MS always kicks in bang on 6 weeks along with the feeling of having a permanent hangover.

Bye for now ladies.
