Welcome Kim - enjoy your stay with us!

Nothing else to report here - DH away so at least I don't have to watch the footie

Hope everyone else is having a good evening!

majormoo · 04/03/2008 19:39

evening all.Welcome Kim
Oh dear Willmouse what a horrible man to have to deal with.
Glad you are feeling OK MJIM

I am shattered-DD has been a real handful this evening. She had a friend round from school-I foolishly let them play outside, and they ended up digging up mud from our plants on the balcony that leads to the garden. Then they filled a bucket with water and tipped it over the bathroom floor. Then DDs friend wet herself over the living room floor (this little girl never has accidents so god knows what caused this). After this they did art on the kitchen table which meant glitter went everywhere, and to top it all DD (who also never has accidents) decided to wet herself too in the Fairy tent they were playing in in her bedroom. AAAAAAH

Bellie · 04/03/2008 19:40

Oh majormoo - (shall I pour you the wine now?)
Sit down and relax!

Just wanted to say great news Bellie, sorry it was so painful. I have to say the HSG pain was far far worse than labour ( i didn't want to tell you before as it may have scared you). Just do lots of Bding in the next few months as sometimes the HSG clears out the tubes and makes you mega fertile, so don't waste the opportunity!

My I feel like a Mean Mother, DS has not very many toys, and my Dad certainly doesn't spoil him at all, but at the moment we are living in a small house and there is no room for too many toys. When (if) we move.

willmouse sorry about your day hope this evening is better.

MJIM hope you are getting less morning sickness.

majormoo-what a pile of disasters for you. DD1 is going on her first after school play date on Thursday-am so dreading the return visit.

MJIM-the problem with getting the lurgy when PG is that you can't dose yourself up.

Ate my healthy tea complete with massive pile of mashed swede and carrot, green beans and brussel sprouts. Just far too many veg so feel bloated. Also, have had at least 30 wees today, is this normal?

kim27 · 04/03/2008 20:47

Hi all, thanks for the kind welcome

I have been reading other threads which talk about using opk's, as we have only been trying for a few weeks should we just try our luck and see what happens or would you recommend using the opk's.

Sorry if it seems a stupid question very new to this have, gone from never wanting kids to becoming obsessed within a few months

ceebee74 · 04/03/2008 20:54

Willmouse ? boys with long hair are lovely, except when they are continually mistaken for a girl as DS is ? grrrr! DH says it is my own fault for letting his hair grow so much (DH would have had it cut months ago).

Juanitad ? I am (virtually) holding your hand as I have no symptoms either ? who would have thought that after my last pg where I was as sick as a dog, I would now welcome that feeling

Majormoo ? what a day you have had! No wonder you are shattered as just reading about it is enough for me.

Kim27 ? some people swear by OPK?s ? tbh I am only using them because I am really not sure that I am ovulating. However, HC did a link on this thread if you look back to Thursday (I think) where you can get 50 of them for £5.99 ? much much cheaper than Boots.

Right, have to go and iron tons of DH?s clothes as he is going away again tomorrow for 3 days ? and then it is BD time .

kim-hey, don't bother with OPK's yet. Just have some fun while you TTC. I am being a tad naughty in using them as having 2 gorgeous girls already my DH is yearning for a boy so am following the Hazel Chesterman-Phillips book about choosing the sex of your baby the natural way. This is the 2nd month of temping but my OV date is all over the place so am hoping the OPK's will help.

Oh, MJIM-sending you virtual hugs. {{xx}} I suffered terrible headaches in the first 12 weeks so had to take paracetamol or I would have gone mad.

mjim - lots of fluid and keep warm if you have this fluey bug it is awful. You also will need lots of sleep and rest.

Soosy - thank you for not telling me before! I'm not sure that I would have gone through with it. I thought that I was a real wimp but you are SO right it is hell compared to labour!!
Still got lots of Bding to look forward to now

carolyn1941 · 05/03/2008 07:34

morning all

MJIM - hope you're feelng better. Try having a hot bath? Hot blackcurrant works for me if no lemsip is allowed!

Kim - the others are right about the opk's/ I wasted loads in 1st month as due to having been on the pill so long I had no idea when I would ovulate, or how long my cycle was. Still not 100% sure and have used about 25 in total! I would wait and enjoy the first month or too as you will soon become totally obsessed like us!

Majormoo - hope today is a better day (or at least that you got a glass of wine last night!!!)

I am on CD14 so if I'm not around tonight you know where I am (wink]...

Quick question. Supposed to ovulate on CD17 based on last month. We are going to his sisters for weekend(!). Is it OK to BD in her house??? (very quietly???)Feels a bit odd tbh but don't want to miss ov!

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

MrsPuddleduck · 05/03/2008 08:53

Morning all.

I have caught the worst cold ever!

Wednesday 5th March is sponsored by Cocodamol - without it I would not have got out of bed this morning!

I am off to my friend's today. Her little girl's cat has had kittens so DS1 is desparate to see them. Every time I look at a cute kitten I am going to visualise a cat litter tray............

Bellie · 05/03/2008 08:59

oh mjim and willmouse - I really feel for you - I am just about shaking mine off!! (2 weeks later ). Really hope that you don't get it as bad as me.

Carolyn - have some fun tonight!! There is no reason why you can't bd at your sil - whether you feel that you want to or not is up to you

Weigh in this morning - lost 2lb that is a total of a stone in 7 weeks!

majormoo · 05/03/2008 09:36

morning all. Hope you feel better soon MJIM/willmouse

Carolyn I reckon it is fine to go for it in your sister's house as long as you are discreet.

After got kids to bed, did relax with a glass of my favourite wine. Going to have a boring day today as DS has a bit of a temperature and a cold so we are stuck indoors

kim27 · 05/03/2008 12:01

another stupid question from the new girl

is it ok to sit ups when ttc don't want to do anything which might harm an egg

MrsPuddleduck · 05/03/2008 13:40

Kim27 - I can't imagine that you could harm an egg doing sit ups but I'm not sure. They are quite hardy.

My best friend and I did a spinning class years ago (in which we both very nearly died I would like to add) and she found out that she was pregnant about 2 days later.

I think you have to carry on pretty much as normal while ttc as I think the risk of damage is small (even for drinking alcohol )

Still feel ill but had downgraded painkillers to ibuprofen - so must be getting better (felt spaced out all morning on cocodamol ).

Right - off to see kittens

MrsIcarus · 05/03/2008 19:23

Evening all!

MJIM/Willmouse - hope you're both feeling a bit better. I find that a drink of warm water, honey and lemon juice helps when I'm feeling shivery. Hope the kittens were cute (I would love one, but DH is allergic ).

Bellie - a stone in 7 weeks is excellent - well done. What's your secret?!

Majormoo - your story of the playdate made me wonder if I'm doing the right thing by TTC . Please tell me it is worth it at other times!

Kim - I was wondering about the OPK's too, but figured that if we BD enough we shouldn't miss the vital time !

Carolyn - go for it at the weekend - it might be a lucky charm. A friend of mine conceived both her DC at her MIL's house (in the bed now known as "the bed of fertility" to everyone but the MIL!). I'm on CD17, which was when I ov'd last month, so planning an early night tonight!
