Ladies - you may now continue the chatting

I am off to my Mums on Sunday - and she is cooking lunch not quite right but my Gran will be there so it is easier that way (plus I don't have to cook)

DH is on a rare trip to Cardiff tomorrow to watch the football so Mum and Dad are coming around for the sake of my sanity. We are bound to end up in a playbarn (DS1 has put an order in to go to Bazz and Jazz). I am cooking dinner for us all though so it sort of makes up for Sunday.

Quite a few of us are in the 2ww (or not in my case ). However, I will enjoy keeping you all company

PS - isn't there a rule that says you're not supposed to start a sentence with however? Sorry

ceebee74 · 29/02/2008 16:49

Well this thread is going to be red-hot around the 10th March as I figure that is when about 5 of us will be at the end of the 2WW - stay tuned ladies

Willmouse - I am with you on the feeling distinctly negative about this month. Am now on CD19 and still don't think I have ovulated unless it really is possible to ovulate with absolutely NO symptoms whatsoever!

As for Mothers day I am cooking lunch for MIL, BIL, and gf (plus DH and DS of course) so that is going to be a fun day for me isn't it? But I did get a card from DS yesterday which he had made at nursery which was lovely

Hi all

LOL at you lot worrying about spelling etc. I am a SCIENCE and ICT teacher and don't care a jot about spelling on here...I'm not at work!!!!

Glad you are all having some lovely mothers days. I'm cooking for my parents so should be nice, even if I do see them all the time anyway!

Still doing the ov tests and getting feint (sp?) lines so reckon it will be soon (I'm only on CD9 fgs!!!!!)my body is BIZARRE!

DP has gone out for fish and chips...not very healthy but oh well. Just took 2 neurofen as well as have major headache and need to BD tonight(!)...is this ok?

MrsIcarus · 29/02/2008 17:46

Hello! Would you mind if I join you?

We're TTC#1, am on cycle 2 (stopped taking the Pill at the end of November), CD12 and trying to take your advice about BD every other day!

I haven't told anyone in RL that we're TTC, except my SIL, who is v supportive (but is also DH's sis, so it's sometimes tricky IYKWIM).

welcome MrsIcarus - you are coming up to the best bit of the month

carolyn - fish and chips would love that but not enough points today - wanted to have some wine instead!! take what you need to get rid of the headache!!

willmouse - sounds like a lovely weekend to me

dd is doing my head in tonight!! Just took 45 minutes to eat a quarter of a sandwich and threw the rest on the floor - she is now in bed but shouting at the top of her voice not sure that she will be getting to sleep anytime soon...

carolyn1941 · 29/02/2008 18:09

Hello MrsIcarus - welcome to the madhouse! . We are really a bunch of nutters with the ttc in common! Some debate over the 'every other day' or 'every day' but the proof will be in the pudding so to speak!

I haven't told anyone in real life about ttc either as think it will be a nice surprise when (if) it happens!...are you feeling lucky this month? We usually all have our fingers crossed for each other!

Anyway, you are most welcome, and GOOD LUCK!!

juanitad · 29/02/2008 18:15

Evening everyone,

Feeling a bit guilty that everyone is so paranoid now about spelling!! Please don't worry, I know I usually type quite fast, and so end up with loads of mistakes, but who cares!!! I promise I won't tell anyone off - I'll save that for the massive pile of marking I've brought home this weekend (80 books to get through, sigh!)

CD20 here, but like wilmouse and ceebee, I'm starting to wonder if I've even ovulated this month, as I had no symptoms. The ov stick showed positive on CD16, but I'm not even sure if I read it right. So I'm officially on the 2WW, but will not obsess as much as last month over every little symptom/non-symtpom, will just try and get on with things as normal. My time will come I know...

Welcome to Mrs Icarus. I am also TTC #1 and also on cycle 2.

Am over the moon it's finally FRIDAY. Yipppppeeeeee!!!

MrsIcarus · 29/02/2008 18:34

Thanks all for the welcome.

Carolyn - I'm really hoping that this month is luckier than last month - at the crucial moment DH had to go and work away for two nights, then came home with man flu, so no chance of BDing !!

Juanitad - I know what you mean about the 2ww. Last month I was adamant that I wasn't going to obsess, but by CD30 was losing my resolve a bit! Fingers crossed for you this time round.

Heartmum2Jamie · 29/02/2008 19:20

Welcome MrsIcarus! You will be in good company here, A lovely bunch who don't seem to mind the preggos staying on. I hope your luck is better for this month.

Janitad, I am not overly paranoid about my spelling normally, but my spelling and typing have become atrocious since last week. Maybe that is a symptom?!

Carolyn, i would definately take whatever I could to get rid of a headache. I suffer from hormonal headaches so would often get one around O time and always kept some tablets handy.

Myjob, the baby sounds adorable! I haven't held a newborn or small baby for nearly a year. I am sure your ds will like babies better by October. I am a little worried about ds2 as he & I have a very strong bond, he's my baby, you know?! I actually started thinking he was psychic this morning as he bought "I'm a big brother" to me so I could read it to him

HumphreysCorner · 29/02/2008 19:36

MrsIcarus-you are most welcome. How exciting TTC No1. We do have a laugh on here. Lots of luck!

Bellie-on the Ebay site I bought the OV sticks from it said to use them in the middle of the day ish.

One of my friends at dancing was going to the chip shop tonight. Did my lot oven chips but at 2.5 points this was too much as I needed the 2.5 for wine.

Just eaten my yummy WW Rich Chocolate Bar-honestly, they are to die for!

Heartmum-I have bonded much more with DD2 than DD1 I am ashamed to say. Don't know how I will be able to devote equal time to her and new baby. Poor DD1 got pushed out somewhat.

MrsICarus - welcome You will fit right in as long as you don't mind discussing the 'finer' details of TTC - there is no such thing as TMI on this thread

MJIM - congratulations to your friend - I love cuddling iddy biddy babies!

HC - bugger, I didn't read that about those OV sticks. I guess I will have to sneak them into my handbag and do them in the loos at work - not really ideal though is it? What do I do with it afterwards?

Mmm wine - just going to put DS to bed and then crack the vino open - see there are some perks to not being preggers just yet

Clever little things DC! After last failed IVF told Dh I had my period, DS said "it doesn't matter I didn't want one anyway!" The best bit came next though when he said "what's a period?" But he does know what's ging on and understands that mummy goes to hospital to try and make babies. So HM2J you are probably right.

MJIM I am v as I love newborns and can spend hours cuddling them, actually I love children, whether they are mine or not!

Belgianbun Thanks I feel a bit better now, I was beginning to feel like a completely ignorant mother - or is that a Head teachers job to baffle you with technical terms!!

Willmouse in RL are you connected to wales somehow. I don't want to ask if you are Welsh, as being Welsh myself i know that it can cause offence to some.

Hello to MrsIcarus.

Mothers Day hmmm MIL would like us to see her, not really a break for me as I just spend the whole time trying to stop DS jumping on the furniture and she has just done up her house and is quite precious about it. DH came home wednesday from Amsterdam and Brussels and gave me a box of Chocs when I asked what he was going to do for Mother's Day he said I've given you chocolates!!!!

So we staying at home I think. DS has party on Saturday, and {soosy whispers} i may get a lie in. Ds did make me a gorgeous card with very wobbly copied over writing inside at school.

Bellie I am with you OPK's in the morning, best time, but whenever you do it it should be the same time every day.

Sorry if I missed anyone, Have a lovely evening, must go and reheat bolognese that I Nigellaed up earlier!

ceebee-stick it in the shredder. I will have to wrap mine in loo roll and take it home in my handbag.

Have already laid the table for Mothers Day and half made my first ever trifle. Going to Tescos tomorrow for food and drink and will be making soup and doing veg tomorrow.

DH has lit a coal fire and it is so hot in here. Am nearly melting.

Aw soosy-isn't your DS cute?

Welcome Mrs Icarus

My spelling is dreadful these days, which is not good considering I have an English Degree (see-not even sure if Degree should be in caps or not!)

If all goes well with this pregnancy, I would prefer not to find out the sex this time although we have not discussed it yet. We had a surprise with DD and found out at the 20week scan with DS. Although it was lovely knowing he was a boy and when he was handed to me I sort of knew him already, it was just fantastic the moment we discovered DD was a girl. Plus I missed being able to ring people and surprise them with 'It's a boy/girl'.

HC/HM2J, I wouldn't say I bonded more with DS than DD, but I defintely enjoyed him more. I think because I knew what to expect.

MJIM congrats to your friend. Third degree tear-ooch.

I felt horribly tired but that is pretty normal after a day with the kids and after DD has had a friend to tea.

MrsIcarus · 29/02/2008 20:45

HC - you are super organised if you've already laid the table for Sunday! I'm still deciding what to cook, although I bought the "Jamie at Home" cook book recently, so might try something from there - his food always looks so delicious when he makes it on TV!

Majormoo - it must be a dilemma - to know or not to know. My SIL found out at 20 wks that she was having a girl, and after that it seemed as though the baby had more of a personality, which was really nice. I'd worry that if I found out and they'd got it wrong, it would be a big shock.

Anyway, better go and do the washing up - v romantic and just the thing to get me in the mood .

HumphreysCorner · 29/02/2008 21:03

Can be v. Bree like at times

well I have had a pretty awful day so far. Had a tiny bit of blood when went to the loo and so did another test, which came back not pregnant. So seems I am about to have a really early miscarriage (in fact not even sure it would count as that?) Why oh why did I do the test when my period was due and not wait a week like I always advise people to? If I had, I would be non the wiser and just think my period was late. Luckily the kids are with DH at his in-laws today so I can have a good cry and dust myself down for when they come home. Thank god I did not find out tomorrow on mother's day.

Hope everyone else is having a better weekend.

ceebee74 · 01/03/2008 13:20

Oh Majormoo - v for you. I am not an expert on this at all so can give you no advice and have no idea what is going on but I really really hope that it is not as it seems - keeping everything crossed for you. And if not, you can get back on the bandwagon with us.

Got my OV sticks this morning - the 'work' drama continues! You have to use them at the same time every day between 10am and 8pm AND you cannot pee on them - you have to pee into a pot and dip them in - so where the hell am I going to keep my pot at work? and then what if someone sees me washing it out in the toilet sink?? I think I am going to have to wait and do it around DS's bathtime as that it the only consistent thing all week during those times.

Belgian bun - fingers crossed for you as sore boobs sounds like a positive sign.
