Well, my body very much thinks I'm pregnant. Todays test was this dark before the blue dye even reached the control panel.

@RunningOnHope so what happens now? Have you got another blood test xx

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 08:01

@CR7 I've not had any blood tests yet. I call the clinic as soon as it opens and see what they suggest.

OP posts:
CR7 · 11/05/2023 08:03

@RunningOnHope I'm so sorry. My brain is crap this morning as not slept well xx

Good luck with the call xx

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 08:26

@CR7 sorry to hear you're not sleeping well, is it anxiety keeping you up? When DW first got a positive test with our daughter, I didn't really sleep for a week. My heart was just racing every time I thought about it. When will you have your hcg test?

OP posts:
CR7 · 11/05/2023 08:45

@RunningOnHope it's sheer starvaciousness xx

I cannot contemplate getting up and eating and then trying to go back to sleep on a full stomach but I will have to tonight. My stomach was growling so much it woke my husband up. I've had it every night for a week

TheBirdintheCave · 11/05/2023 08:50

@RunningOnHope Crikey that is a very positive test right there! :D

Triselly · 11/05/2023 10:33

@CR7 that sounds very annoying for you - how about drinking something like milk/milkshake/hot chocolate before bed? Something filling but not heavy food?

CR7 · 11/05/2023 11:19

@Triselly defo going to try. If I drink milk before bed my husband would divorce me probably (tmi ha) but I feel that even some soup or tea would be a good idea xx

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 11:27

@CR7 you told me there's no such thing as tmi on this thread 😁 I'd go for toast before bed. Sounds like a proper pregnancy symptom, does that feel exciting?!

OP posts:
CR7 · 11/05/2023 11:32

@RunningOnHope well it's defo unusual for me! xx I went for my private blood test this morning. Best £39 I've spent. I have a second on one Tuesday to confirm that the levels are on the rise. Hopefully should hear about today's tomorrow afternoon or Saturday morning and then I can believe it's real.

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 12:35

I've managed to speak to the clinic who offered HCG bloods at extra cost, or waiting until a scan. They also suggested I could talk to the GP and get a referral to EPU for bloods and early scan on the NHS. My clinic is an hour away and I have to arrange childcare each time. Also I hate bloods, it's a massive ordeal.

So I've arranged a scan with them for 22nd May, when I would be 6+6. In the meantime, I'm doubling my progesterone (need to get onto the GP to prescribe much more!) and will try to talk to my about GP about a referral to EPU as its closer than my clinic.

OP posts:
CR7 · 11/05/2023 12:37

@RunningOnHope sounds like a good plan. I am on lubion progesterone injections daily as well as my two pessaries to up my levels xx

TheBirdintheCave · 11/05/2023 12:42

@RunningOnHope I'm glad you've got a plan in place :)

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 13:46

@CR7 Are you on two pessaries at a time? Just realised I didn't check with the nurse, are you supposed to put them up there together?!

Ivf is so undignified 😅

OP posts:
CR7 · 11/05/2023 13:48

@RunningOnHope cyclogest is one evening and one morning. I'm on those.

I've also been on utrogestan in the past which is two at a time, twice a day, as they were lower dose. They came with applicators which I recycled and use with the cyclogest. The applicators changed my life haha

SarahShorty · 11/05/2023 13:49

@RunningOnHope one pessary twice a day, usually one in the morning and one in the evening. Up the back passage or up the front. You can alternate if you like. Up the back passage means less mess.

SarahShorty · 11/05/2023 13:50

@cr7 cross-post, sorry. I was going to have utrogestan but they were out of stock at the time.

CR7 · 11/05/2023 13:51

@SarahShorty you can buy the applicators online xx cyclogest and utrageston both fit x

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 14:03

@SarahShorty @CR7 I'm on cyclogest one in the morning and one in the evening as you say, but the nurse said to double it from now on. So I guess I'll try putting in two at a time.

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 18:50

I've got an appointment at EPU tomorrow afternoon. They want a morning urine sample taken with me. I'd have thought it would be too early to see anything much on a scan at 5+2, but I guess if they can conclusively see nothing at all, that will give us an answer that it definitely all passed. I've so nervous for the crushing disappointment when they say it's definitely all over.

How are you feeling about your blood test tomorrow @Triselly?

OP posts:
Triselly · 11/05/2023 19:09

@RunningOnHope Feeling very similar to you, but the sounds of it! Blood test very early tomorrow, hopefully can get the results around 2pm, and finally resolve this flipping Schrödinger’s pregnancy once and for all.

Very scared/relieved that it will all be over for now, also scared that it’s going to be some mad result again. Or that the hcg will have gone up by like, a bit, but not a decent amount to conclude anything. Stopped crying now though so that’s got to be a plus.

Hope you’re doing alright with it all? Do you mind me asking how it’s going with the bleeding? Mine seems to have just about stopped now? (TMI club)

RunningOnHope · 11/05/2023 19:30

@Triselly Yep that all sounds familiar. From googling, they'd be able to see a gestational sack with something in, if there's an embryo still there. Fully expecting to hear "I'm sorry, there's nothing there".

Bleeding is now only very light spotting. Today is day 7 of it, hoping it will be gone tomorrow, if only so I can stop seeing "no baby here!" every time I go to the loo.

OP posts:
Triselly · 11/05/2023 19:50

@RunningOnHope There’s just so many questions, like how can the hcg level be going up with heavy bleeding? Is there any point in holding onto hope that everything could be alright? After a lot of research, there are some possible answers but it’s just not knowing what’s going on even though it’s like right there inside you, it’s just maddening.

Good luck for tomorrow, please let us know if you feel up to it.

@CR7 Do you know when you get your blood test results? The money that is cost sounds like an excellent price for a bit of peace of mind.

When is everyone else expecting news? I can’t quite keep track with when everyone’s dates are, but I know a couple are expecting updates quite soon? Xx

TheBirdintheCave · 11/05/2023 20:16

@RunningOnHope Oh that's great that you have an EPU appointment! :) I have my fingers crossed for you and @Triselly that the bleeding is a haematoma and you both still have beans on board.

@Triselly I get my day three update tomorrow around lunch time :)
