Ovulation testing help

Morning ladies :)

I’m currently on day 4 of cycle 1 TTC after a miscarriage at 8 weeks on 5th March.

I want to try not to miss our chance with this cycle, so have bought some ovulation test sticks, just wondered when would be best to start testing from after my period ends?

I usually have 28-30 day cycles but I don’t know how the miscarriage would have affected the cycles and/or ovulation.

I literally said last night if you get this question right you win a bj and he was bang up for it 😂😂😂 I had to give him about 6 chances to win though but it worked and I think takes the pressure off having to expect to DTD instead it can just follow on naturally xx

Well my game worked last night and this morning I've woken up, thought I'd check my OPK and it's getting darker so I may peak today which means I O tomorrow. If not I'll O on Saturday but we've DTD twice so far and I'll try for another two times so I'm covered xx

Yeah I got them in their sale price woo! We all love a bargain! I took a test and it was completely negative which actually made me feel better as I was starting to worry about maybe being another CP because of how off my period was, but all good so CD5 now (if starting from red flowing) and hoping to enter the fertile window in 5 days, which is good as I’m on lates and my partner is on earlies this set so this is the one where we don’t actually see each other from Friday afternoon until Monday afternoon!

Oh yay that’s good news!! Did you ovulate in the end seeing as I left you hanging for 2 days!! Xx

Ah yay good work, glad that you know where you're at now at least! And perfect timing with the sets and how they've worked out, fingers crossed for this cycle. I don't know if you use preseed (we've just started using it) but it's on offer at boots at the minute for a good price if you wanted to give it a go.

I actually don't think I have, my test in the morning of CD17 was fairly dark but not positive so I thought maybe I'd peaked on the night of CD16 as it's been so low since but this mornings is getting darker so I think I'm going to maybe peak today 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ xx

@Angelselevenx Yeah! I’m glad it wasn’t another CP anyway, maybe I just didn’t ovulate as I only had the one day of red blood in the end, the other 7 days were all brown! Gross. Ah we haven’t used that but I might have a look into it actually!

Oh really?! Maybe today then, but at least you know it’s closing in on D day anyway ha! After the first miscarriage, it took me two cycles to conceive again so I don’t think o ovulate straight away and now I’m worried for this month as apparently if you don’t bleed a lot, it means your uterine lining isn’t right for a pregnancy anyway x

@DHB sorry gross (no judgment here) but the brown stuff will be old tissue and blood coming out so I'd say that's clearing your uterus out so try not to worry too much about that. I was expecting a big sticky mess but my OH didn't even notice I'd used it 🤣.

Yes exactly! My LH is getting darker now so think I'll peak today, will try for another bd tomorrow to cover us both days and use preseed again.

You probably are ovulating it might just be your hormones are a bit all over the place, I had the chemical in March/April and haven't conceived since but I've been ovulating cause of my positive LH & the temperature rise I've had. It's annoying but sometimes it just doesn't happen straight after for whatever reason xx

I think I'm ovulating today which means I've DTD -5, -2, twice on -1 and I'm gunna go for one more today and use preseed again.

Yeah it is, I used it on -2, once on -1 and then again today. How are you feeling? Xx

I’m ok! Im knackered, but I’ve been knackered since the last mc actually, feel like I haven’t got any energy back yet! Other than that, no signs of ovulating yet but very early still, just a lot of creamy cm bleughhhh! Premom is predicting my fertile window to be in 3 days so 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

I've tried my hardest this cycle without being too psycho, into the TWW tomorrow 🤞🏼 there's literally nothing more I can do cause I've given it my all and I think that's the hardest part isn't it.

Are you going to try preseed?

Oh bless you, I don't think working shifts helps as you're knocked for 6 after nights and your days are probably so busy you're shattered come night time! are you gunna test LH this month or try not to? 3 days!! Eeeeek get shagging girl xx

Only 4DPO!! 🫠 still ages to go, 7 days til AF been having AF like cramps but way to early to be anything related I'm sure.

@Angelselevenx Oh god I mean it’s a very long story but in short, we were on and off last year due to just basically not talking about our issues for so long and letting it build up, and in that time I had seen someone else at work which obviously OH is struggling to deal with, we’ve worked hard to get through it but it seems to keep creeping back since we stopped couples counselling. Then I think the added pressure of the losses really, OH keeps thinking that it’s because of what happened and it’s a sign telling him it’s not the right thing to do etc.

@DHB oh god hun that sounds stressful, I think the added pressure from your losses and the whole TTC journey will ne playing a massive factor. Will you go back to couples counselling or will you try to work through it without? Hope you can both spend some quality time together over the next few days to work it out!

Thanks 🤣🤣 shut the front door, no!? I've never been told that! I know I can do it, I just hate cardio with a passion I'm a weights gal, I've been doing 5 minute interval running at the gym just to make sure I can definitely do it and that's gone okay so far 🫣 xx

@Angelselevenx Yeah it’s a proper shitter 🤦🏼‍♀️ OH doesn’t want to go back to counselling as he thinks that it just brings memories back but, obviously you have to do that to be able to heal and deal with it all. We’ll see anyway, we’re not great at the moment!

YEAH!! And because you’re on the treadmill, there isn’t anyone else there! Well, our force does it anyway. Oh my god same, give me weights and machines anyway but cardio can piss right off. I actually remember a job where I was chasing a suspect and I felt like I was going to die and then all of a sudden, my more cardio thrilled colleague came absolutely sprinting past…so I just gave up and stopped as I watched him getting smaller as he went into the distance 😂😂😂 The Sergeants were laughing at me whilst they were watching the cctv stream hahaha! X

@DHB I can imagine, at the same time though if you both decided to move on give it another go and have done well ever since, he can't keep bringing it up and reminding yourselves of it otherwise you'll never move forward.

Urgh I might ask about that, although this is definitely the last time I'm doing it as apparently they're changing it so you do bleep test in FULL KIT sorry but absolutely not. I can hardly sit in a car with my kit on without it giving me indigestion and heart burn 😂.

@Angelselevenx Exactly, we’ve chosen to move on but it seems to be getting into his head even more. The arguments are awful at the moment, it’s so shit. He’s refusing to go back to counselling which isn’t helping as we clearly need it again. He says all these things though, he doesn’t love me, care about me etc, can’t be with me anymore as he deserves better etc, but then every time after a few days he comes around again. It’s draining for me too, he doesn’t seem to realise that.

Oh perhaps then, or maybe not! Have to wait and see! When are you planning to test this month?

I reckon I might have ovulated yesterday or today anyway, I had a shit tonne of ‘our’ fertile mucus haha, really creamy and wet, gross. Then today, I just went for a wee and when I wiped it was tinged brown for gods sake! 😂 Oh well, not bothered this month as we’re clearly not going to DTD anytime soon haha.

@DHB aww no that's not good 😔 he can't say things like that as it messes with your head and he will end up pushing you away! Plus I bet your mind is just elsewhere whilst working isn't it. Have you tried (im sure you have) just sitting down and talking it through, what is he struggling with the fact you went with someone else?

At least you know you're ovulating that's one good thing, maybe take this time as a rest for your body then hopefully next month you can get shagging again 🤣

I'm not sure! I've heard it through the grapevine but don't think it'll be til January 2024 so this is definitely my last PST cause that's an absolute negative from me 😂 although it's only to 3.6 but that's still hell!!!

@Angelselevenx Yeah, we’ve tried talking but it’s the same every time, there’s only so much I can say. It’s so draining and to be honest, this time I did feel like I’d distanced. We have turned a corner again today though and he’s come around. This is what happens every single time 🤦🏼‍♀️ Yeah, it’s literally the fact that there was someone else in the meantime and I still work with said person too!

@DHB oh definitely, it'll get to a point where you're just like enough is enough. Hopefully that was the last of it cause you can't keep going round in circles especially if you're TTC.

6!! It was 5.4 we had to get to yesterday and actually felt alright I thought I could keep going then died when I stopped 😂😂😂. They're also changing PST for SC to 2 days which sorry, not happening I don't have time for that so I'll probably Jack it in if I haven't fallen pregnant by next year.

We somewhat made up yesterday and DTD and Premom has predicted ovulation for tomorrow so I’m panicking a bit now as I just don’t feel confident enough for our relationship for pregnancy at the moment, but hey ho done now so we’ll see. Although my ovulation symptoms were all the other day when I mentioned all that CM I reckon.

Oh 5’4 well done!! The stop and starting doesn’t help at all though does it! Yeah ours is two days, the second day is first aid and trauma which is alright to be honest and doesn’t involve running 😂

@DHB exactly! Fingers crossed you're out the other side now and when things have settled maybe just reiterate to him you can't keep going on like this it's unfair. He decided to forgive you and if that's his decision he needs to stand by it and move on from it.

I tested yesterday at 8dpo, BFN of course 😅🤦🏽‍♀️ I don't suspect it's my month to be honest, I've only had the usual tiredness, sore boobs, pulling sensations in my uterus/ovaries & headaches which to be honest I seem to get monthly. You aren't doing LH tests are you? I wonder if you did ovulate then.

I know I wouldn't mind two days if I was a reg but as a SC it just takes up my whole weekend 🤦🏽‍♀️.

NTE. Well, a load of us SC grab the battle bus and provide support to response/NTE depending where we're needed and we can just all pile out. Do you have many SC in your force? Xx
