Ovulation testing help

Morning ladies :)

I’m currently on day 4 of cycle 1 TTC after a miscarriage at 8 weeks on 5th March.

I want to try not to miss our chance with this cycle, so have bought some ovulation test sticks, just wondered when would be best to start testing from after my period ends?

I usually have 28-30 day cycles but I don’t know how the miscarriage would have affected the cycles and/or ovulation.

I feel very similar to you, as in, am I that lucky to be one of these fertile people after MC. I’m not sure, I’m very early on still but losing hope with this spotting and OPKs. But then, it happened first time with our Daughter and what would have been the little one last month, so I’m trying to keep positive for now.

@DHB I think that's the best way to be, positive but still mindful that it may not happen. I keep googling and reading them as well 🤦🏽‍♀️. I just feel so lucky to have fallen on my second cycle albeit it was a chemical, so for it to happen on cycle 3 that would be unbelievably lucky but what's meant to be will be for us 💖 (still keeping my fingers crossed)

@DHB just to reassure you my LH levels were low low low then I got my peak very rapidly with just one higher test the day before - here's my chart

@Hankthehonk Oh wow!! So yours are really quick! Hopefully mine is just being how yours was then and it’ll increase really quickly

@DHB yup, this was my first month charting but prior to getting pregnant (pregnancy sadly ended in mc) I experienced the same so I obviously am one of those people with rapid peaks. I tested 3 times a day as soon as I got a higher number.

Yes you must be then! Perhaps I am too. I’ve just done my FMU instead to see if it made a difference but it’s still only just about visible 0.03 🫣

Another test, another zero 😩 Surely I shouldn’t be zero and should at least have some progression in my LH levels 😩

@DHB you're still early hun, I honestly wouldn't panic yet. You're only on CD10, you're not likely to ovulate until at least the next few days and it'll be a strong surge as opposed to a slow increase. Mine are similar, although mine always sit at around 0.1/2 but that doesn't mean anything. First pic is this month second pic is 2 months ago, you can see they sat at the same and then jumped right up xx

@Angelselevenx Gosh yes yours are low too aren’t they. I’m panicking that the MC has affected my cycles and perhaps I’m not going to ovulate but yours have given me hope.

@DHB just keep testing and around the day you'd normally ovulate (I'd say 14-18) for your cycle, try and test twice a day or when you start noticing signs (EWCM/O pain) test! Honestly LH is low until it starts to ovulate so it won't show up unless ovulation is about to happen I'm on CD17 and I still haven't ovulated. Some people have said their cycles go back to normal straight away or it could be pushed out by a few days but either way just keep testing to catch it! Don't panic 😊

Well it’s CD12 today and the last two days OPK have actually gone to 0.1 somethings, but now today I’ve started with light pink spotting 😩

@DHB do you normally get spotting? It could be hormonal changes around ovulation?

Mines still the same, I should be getting peak tomorrow, that's when I've got peak the last 2 months but depends if this cycle is affected so I'll keep testing throughout today and then tomorrow 🤞🏼

Try not to focus to much on the number it tells you it is and more on the actual colour of the line, it looks like yours has gotten a bit darker! X

@Angelselevenx Well we’re currently away for the weekend and I forgot the OPKs but we’ve DTD twice so I’ll just have to hope!

Had more light pink discharge again today too, god knows what that is.

Oh that's strange? I wonder if it's a change in hormones causing it.

I think I'm hitting peak tonight, tests have been getting darker all day so will be DTD tonight and tomorrow 🤞🏼 x

@Angelselevenx Perhaps! I had some period type pains a few days ago too, so maybe I’ll have a really short cycle this month :(

All good this end, in the 2ww I believe. I’ve put that spotting and cramping down to ovulation, had no colouring in my cm since Monday so sort of adds up! I’ve stopped OPKs now seeing as I’ve missed the middle of my cycle completely! Will just have to see how it goes.

Aww yay!! That's good news and glad you've stopped spotting etc.

Yeah it did, I hit peak Saturday night/Sunday day and then still had a high OPK on Monday morning but it dropped right down by Monday 10am so luckily DTD on all 3 of those days. My temps shot up now too so confirms I'm 2dpo eeeek. Keep me updated with how you get on this month. There's a WhatsApp group with a few of us in the same boat if you want to join x

@Angelselevenx Oh yay that’s exciting!! Especially that you’ve confirmed it and got the whole range covered, that should set you up nicely!! And now the loooooooong wait ahead, slowest two weeks ever!!

Ah I did see the WhatsApp group link but I work shifts in a non stop setting and hardly get chance to even have my wee, let alone anything else haha, so I end up being really awful at WhatsApp replies!
