Ovulation testing help

Morning ladies :)

I’m currently on day 4 of cycle 1 TTC after a miscarriage at 8 weeks on 5th March.

I want to try not to miss our chance with this cycle, so have bought some ovulation test sticks, just wondered when would be best to start testing from after my period ends?

I usually have 28-30 day cycles but I don’t know how the miscarriage would have affected the cycles and/or ovulation.

@DHB yeah exactly like that! I've been getting O pains and I've started to get my non egg white cm so I think O is coming up soon, maybe by Friday.

It's really hard, how're you feeling at potentially 13dpo?

I had a gender reveal today for a friend who fell pregnant the same time as me when I had my chemical so that was tough but it's okay.

Literally, I need to start practicing I only have two weeks to sort it out 😂 x

Well, I’m just really annoyed to be honest! I started brown spotting on 14th so I thought AF was just coming a bit earlier, but then I had more brown discharge 15th, more again on 16th with a bit of light red when I wiped once, then the same today! So god knows what the hell is going on, but this is now day 4 and no actual period 😩

Oh that sounds tough :( I feel like pregnancies and babies are just everywhere at the moment, it’s just a constant frustration and reminder, and awful jealousy and desperation xx

@DHB I haven't started DTD yet though need to pull my finger out and get cracking 😅 thanks lovely and mine are for you too!

Oh what!? I'm assuming you haven't tested? That's strange cause if O was on CD14 that's a very early period isn't it? unless it's implantation bleeding? 🤞🏼

I know exactly how you feel, that's why I took a bit of a back step from temping/OPK etc cause it just feels like it's coming from every angle so I sympathise with you xx

I know, it’s really odd. I sometimes get maybe a day at most of very light brown spotting before AF comes straight on full force, but never had this. I haven’t tested no, I don’t even any, I’ve been so good this month at not testing or buying any! I don’t know if it’s probably too long and too much for implantation :( It’s literally like the tail off of a period, really dark brown and like sticky, ugh sorry!

Yep absolutely that! It’s mentally draining isn’t it, I’m starting to feel it’s never going to happen and I think that’s making it worse really xx

@DHB I've already lined the BF up for a shag tonight 🤣🤣🤣 which will cover me if ovulation comes early then maybe 1/2 times on the run up/day of O and that'll be it I think. I'm trying to be more chilled but how can you be chilled!?

Well done for not testing! See if AF comes but that does seem to be very early for AF to arrive. I've got my fingers crossed for you, implantation can last a few days as it's just old blood coming out too which makes it brown! Don't apologise, I've probably said worse 😅.

Honestly it really is and I was getting myself into such a bad mood putting so much pressure on both of us cause I want it so bad. I know people say try and relax but how can you relax I just don't get it xx

It is weird, although then I’ve had those bits of light red watery looking blood when wiping yesterday and then a couple of times today so I don’t know :( I’m clutching again I think, but in reality, I’ve never had it with any other pregnancies so I know I’m out really.

Yeah the pressure is awful, it’s all you end up thinking about and it’s hard as it could impact the relationship. I mean, I was definitely more chilled in May when we conceived but we’re not really completely chilled are we, it’s always in the back of your mind xx

Do you normally get periods like that or only for one day? Your cycle might be a bit messed up after your mc 😔 I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, what CD are you now?

Oh it really does, that's how I knew I was getting too in depth cause I was bickering with my OH when I knew I was O soon and we couldn't get a shag in. Then he would feel pressured and it's just no fun!

I think not temping has helped me to forget about it for a bit but now I know O is approaching I'm getting a bit twitchy knowing I need to get some bd in xx

@Angelselevenx No, not normally. I get either a few hours or day or night of light brown spotting and then the red comes in all its glory. I’m CD28 now so it probably is just AF and maybe my hormones are buggered still :(

Oh my god so were we! The anxiety is torture and you just take it out on OH don’t you 😩 I read so many people saying they don’t end up enjoying BD which is such a shame, because I’d hate to know I’ve conceived because we ‘had to’!

Yeah I still got the twitches the other month too haha, I just tried to keep really busy! Xx

@DHB hmm that's very strange, how long are your cycles normally?

Yeah you aren't alone, you end up bickering about stupid things too but to be honest unless you have sec every other day anyway in normal life which is just unrealistic how the hell are you meant to conceive if you don't track O etc. it does seem forced sometimes, that's why I had to take that step back but I just don't know how it'll happen otherwise 😔

Yeah for sure! I'm just going to aim for 3/4 shags over this week then I'm covered at least. At least if I do tonight, Thursday then Friday or Saturday it's all over O date. There I go, planning again 😅🤦🏽‍♀️ I can't help it xx

@Angelselevenx They're usually between 28-30 days. I have a bit more red colour again so I think AF is just trying to come, I’ll just wait it out and if no proper period by Wednesday then I’ll grab a test just in case.

Completely get it. I also worry that we’ll argue over O Period and then miss it and I dread to wait another month 😩

Haha!! I think 3-4 is ample really isn’t it! Because don’t they say every other day during ovulation and day of? And then I read somewhere about sperm needing chance to rejuvenate haha xx

Yes literally! It's the worst, and because you're feeling the pressure and anxious you bicker then the last thing you want to do is DTD.

I know but I worry I won't do it enough which is ridiculous cause it only takes once, it's trying to get that happy medium. I'll DTD tonight to get rid of the old spermies and then at least it'll be fresh swimmers by end of the week 🤣🤣🤣.

Im onto cycle 6 now which just seems crazy I didn't think it would ever take this long, stupidly and naively. My bf is much more chilled out than what I am though xx

@Angelselevenx Thats ok! I thought it’d be the case anyway this month :) They’re usually 4-5 days, so we’ll have to see how all this spotting has affected it.

I know. I'm honestly the exact same, I sit here and think god so much stress will be taken away once we conceive and we don't have to plan/time sex every month xx

@Angelselevenx Hopefully so, the red is so on and off and is just watery, I can’t bloody keep up with it! I actually might nip and get a test tomorrow just to make sure it’s not positive and something is wrong again. Then I can relax and just wait for it to do its thing.

I know! My luteal phase is only 11 days so it's on the shorter side but still normal apparently.

Oh that is a little shorter isn’t it, but then I read that 10-14 days is considered a
normal literal phase :)

@DHB I had a fair bit of spotting on my period after my chemical, which then confused me cause I didn't know when to take as CD1.

Yeah I think it's still classed as normal just not as long as it could be, hopefully it doesn't cause any issues I'll have to speak to the doctors if I have anymore CPs.

Hahahaha so grim isn't it, straight in the shower this morning 😅 I hate this part cause it's when I get twitchy knowing we have to DTD a few times and it not being completely natural 🤦🏽‍♀️

@Angelselevenx Well, you say that and now I’m confused as to when it is too. So I woke up today, and AF has come in full force overnight, so when would CD1 be?! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes, hopefully it won’t get to that stage :( I think one of the vitamins is meant to help extend luteal phase but I can’t remember which one it was now!

@DHB hmm, maybe see if it lasts another 4-5 days and if so take today as CD1

Yeah it's b6 which I take and to be fair my period used to come on the morning of cycle day 11 but now comes late in the evening, so maybe it will push to 12 days soon.

Yeah literally hahaha but that's exactly what we are 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣. I'm CD15 today O is either 19 if the same as last month or 18 if it comes another day sooner like it has each month so far xx

@DHB that's so weird, are you going to test anyway just to rule it out? Amazon have Wondfo tests on offer at 20 sensitive tests for £5.99 at the moment so yes I did order 2 boxes 😂.
