Morning ladies :)

I’m currently on day 4 of cycle 1 TTC after a miscarriage at 8 weeks on 5th March.

I want to try not to miss our chance with this cycle, so have bought some ovulation test sticks, just wondered when would be best to start testing from after my period ends?

I usually have 28-30 day cycles but I don’t know how the miscarriage would have affected the cycles and/or ovulation.

Thank you :)

@Angelselevenx Oh don’t worry :)

I’m ok, I’ve come to terms with what the outcome of the scan will be. I stopped bleeding, then spotted brown again yesterday but all gone again now x

@DHB 😔 I really hope it's a different outcome for you, have you done anymore tests or just left it for now? X

DHB · 24/06/2023 22:35

@Angelselevenx Me too but I’m 99% sure :( I did another yesterday, the one at the bottom, they’re definitely getting lighter :(

The last three are from after my bleeding x

@Angelselevenx Oh thank you lovely! It’s at 10am so I’ll let you know how it goes xx

@DHB thinking of you 💐 xx

Angelselevenx · 27/06/2023 13:09

@DHB hope you're okay xx

DHB · 27/06/2023 14:38

@Angelselevenx Well, ended up spending a good 4 hours in hospital. Confirmed miscarriage, everything has passed naturally and my HCG is at 20 which is really low, so hopefully within the week it’s gone to zero and we can try again :(

I also had some fluid at the back of my womb which they have put down to a cyst having popped when the egg was released, completely normal they said and won’t affect future pregnancies x

OP posts:
Angelselevenx · 27/06/2023 15:25

@DHB oh hun I'm so sorry 😔. I think the only positive is that your body has passed naturally so there is no need for any surgical intervention.

Cysts are normal definitely. How do you feel? Did you tell them about your previous MC, is there anything they can do next time you fall pregnant? X

DHB · 27/06/2023 15:31

Yes exactly, I said the same, I’m just glad it’s gone naturally and we can try again. Hopefully it doesn’t take long for my HCG to go to zero from 20.

They're aware but said they won’t start looking into things until it’s three or more consecutive miscarriages x

OP posts:
Angelselevenx · 27/06/2023 15:38

@DHB mine went from 9 to 0 fairly quickly and I think when it gets to 6 your cycle resets ie period etc so hopefully not too long for you.

Shocking isn't it, that you have to go through it 3 times x

DHB · 27/06/2023 15:50

@Angelselevenx Oh really! Hopefully it does then. Did you ovulate before your period after your miscarriage? My first one was further along and took three weeks to show negative so not sure if I even ovulated that time.

Yes it is! Plus I’ve seen people referred after two so it must be different in each county perhaps x

OP posts:
Angelselevenx · 27/06/2023 15:52

@DHB yeah I did, it didn't take long for my cycle to get back to normal to be honest, I just had spotting before my period the period afterwards.

My doctor did say to me that they'd investigate if I had another one but I think that would just be standard tests. I think we're going to book in for a fertility MOT in the next few months though if nothing happens x

DHB · 27/06/2023 15:54

@Angelselevenx Ok that’s good to know, I’m hoping because this one was so early and my levels are so low, that I’ll be able to catch ovulation if it happens, if not, onto the next cycle again.

Oh yes a private one? It would be quicker too I suppose! Did we have our last MCs similar time? I can’t even remember now, I’ve been talking to you since March! Haha.

It’s such a natural part of life, you just assume it’ll be easy don’t you :( x

Angelselevenx · 27/06/2023 18:38

@DHB fingers crossed lovely, I hope you do. Hope you're looking after yourself tonight.

Yeah, London women's clinic has been highly recommended and they have offices all over, so there might be one fairly close to you.

I think we might've done? I was 5 weeks and it happened around the start of April I think I caught start of march. That's crazy isn't it!
Honestly I know, I naively never thought it would be this difficult 😔. I'm 4DPO now and this is our 5th cycle, just feel like it's never going to happen. X

DHB · 28/06/2023 11:28

@Angelselevenx I did :) Me and OH actually went for a swim in a river near us, it was cold but relaxing somehow haha!

Ah have they? I’ll have to look into them, but still positively hoping it doesn’t get to that point. Me and OH are DTD at the moment (not literally right now…haha!) as I’m done with LH testing, one less stress to keep up with so just going with the flow again this month and hope it catches and sticks this time.

Ah yes, it’s going quick isn’t it :( Mine was just over 7 weeks in March, so very similar timings weren’t we.

Oh yay for the tww for you though! The hardest part is done for you this month, I really hope this is your month 💗 How are you feeling at the moment? You’ll have to keep me posted x

@DHB just checking in, sorry I didn't reply it's been a busy few weeks & I took a massive step back. Last day of AF today so I'm back in the game, 10 days til fertile week!

How're you doing? Xx

DHB · 11/07/2023 18:31

@Angelselevenx Oh no need to apologise! Hope everything is ok?

Sorry to hear AF came :(

I’m ok thank you, my partner has been away so we only DTD a few times. Premom predicted my ovulation on CD19 but I’m not sure as I had some ovulation type pains (stitch type feelings) on CD14. CD19-CD21 I had really pasted white cm, quite a bit too which a lot of people say they get post ovulation. I think I’m probably out this month though, my cervix has gone low and firmer the last couple of days. Will just have to see but I haven’t got my hopes up at least! Xx

OP posts:
DHB · 11/07/2023 18:32

Definitely out if ovulation was CD19 haha, but I reckon it might have been a couple of days before then maybe x

@DHB all okay here! i just took a step back from mumsnet/everything TTC when AF came cause I got myself into a mood. Haven't temped this month to give myself a break either, AF has finished now and O is looking to be weekend of the 22nd which is CD19/20 🤞🏼

Ooh this sounds promising you did O earlier (CD14), did you have EWCM around that day? Yeah actually thinking about it I get creamy cm after O for the following few days.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

DHB · 12/07/2023 13:45

@Angelselevenx Oh no bless you, it’s so hard and just gets too much sometimes doesn’t it. Hope you’re feeling better after your break though. Start a fresh this month, are you going to relax or test OPKs still do you think?

Perhaps but I’m not too hopeful this month anyway. I had some pink tinged CM I think the day after those cramps too so it must have been around that time, we’ll see! I have no HCGs in the house and haven’t even been tempted to buy any, I’ve just got home from
boots as well (non-pregnancy related 😂)

Yeah that CM has stopped now so it must have been ovulation some time last week and then the creamy CM the few days following, would make sense. I honestly have never had EWCM!! 👀xx

OP posts:
Angelselevenx · 12/07/2023 13:50

@DHB I'm not sure, I think I know when O is going by pains I get so I may just wait and then when I think it's O do 1 or 2 just to make sure it's around that time.

Ooh yes that sounds hopeful! I used to bleed around ovulation every time we DTD when I was on contraception! (Fun fact 🤣). Glad you haven't been tempted!! Are you going by 8ish dpo then? Eek!!

Do you know what, the stringy egg white CM that people say they have I've never had 😅 I just get creamy/watery CM (maybe this is my issue) 😅 although I bought preseed 2 months ago and not used it so maybe I'll try that this month.

How're you feeling? Xx

DHB · 12/07/2023 14:06

@Angelselevenx Yeah I’d say try that this month! Because stressing about LH etc obviously doesn’t help us does it. What’s your ovulation pain usually like?

Oh did you?! Well we did DTD the morning that those pains started, so it’s either too deep willy time or ovulation 😂😂😂 But we’d DTD the day before as well and it was fine and has been ever since too!

Oh I’m glad you don’t too! I thought I was broken! Now you say that though, I think I usually get watery CM around the middle of my cycle and my knickers are actually wet sometimes, gross. So maybe that’s our version of EWCM haha, it worked for me though so don’t worry about that!

Yeah try that! I also read about people using Macca Root? Or something like that anyway, might be something to read into.

Well, I have zero symptoms whatsoever anyway apart from being knackered but I’ve just finished four earlies so it’s probably that haha, so I’m just chilling and waiting for AF I think, I won’t be too upset if it comes as I’m expecting it with the lack of DTD this month and because of the miscarriage, I didn’t conceive before my first period after my last MC either so 🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

OP posts:
Angelselevenx · 12/07/2023 22:20

@DHB no it definitely doesn't, mine normally goes dark day before O then dark still the next morning then drops by my second wee. My ovulation pain is normally like a mix of dull aching and shooty pains in whichever side ovary I ovulate from. Are yours similar?

Hahaha Willy time 🤣 I think ovulation bleeding is quite common cause of hormones plus your cervix is lower & softer so could've just been knocked a bit!

Yes!! So gross, feels like you've peed yourself and it normally happens when I'm at the gym 😂🤦🏽‍♀️. Yeah true! I'm going to try use preseed this month though if I can.

Yeah I've heard good things on macaroot, are you taking any vitamins? I take CoQ10, fertility multi vitamin, b6 (which has brought forward my ovulation from CD21 to CD19) and omega. Actually I might take my LH test on CD17-20 just so I can see if O has come forward anymore.

You never know, it just takes 1 remember! 4 earlies 🤢, are you going to test or wait to see if AF shows? I've got my annual fitness test coming up soon which I literally dread every time! I don't know why I dread it so much I gym regularly, it's the anxiety of the beeps I think 😅 xx

DHB · 14/07/2023 09:31

I think maybe that’s what I had then? Sort of a mix of period pain and when you get a stitch!

I’ll just have to wait and see, starting to get my hopes up but also trying to keep them away as I don’t want to be upset. So hard isn’t it.

Oh you have a lot already then, but yes seems to be all good things about macaroot. I only take Vit D and Folic Acid at the moment as I don’t want to mess my cycles up until I know what’s going on with then after the mc.

I don’t have any tests so I’m just going to wait for AF and test if it doesn’t come I think :)

Oh god same!!! I have my refresher in September and I’m hoping I’m pregnant by then so I don’t have to do it 😂😂😂
