Anyone out there starting/continuing IVF treatment next month (April 2023)?

I’m 36, first time everything, and due to start stims early April. Wondering if there are others who might like a thread to chat/vent?

If you’re out there and in a similar position, let me know!

11 dpo is still very early @RunningOnHope - I wouldn’t expect to see any line with afternoon pee at this point, please don’t get too down xx

@RunningOnHope they always say first wee of the day so if you can stay positive and try in a few more days anything can happen. Please try to be kind to yourself xx

Day four complete. Am I meant to be feeling different? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Other than having to inject myself every night, I feel totally normal. I'm really worried I'm doing it wrong or it's not working 😂

CR7 · 30/04/2023 22:27

@TheBirdintheCave I never felt different at any point x

TheBirdintheCave · 30/04/2023 22:30

@CR7 Oh good :)

lemons44 · 01/05/2023 08:09

Thanks all 💗
On our way to the clinic now 😬
X

CR7 · 01/05/2023 08:11

@lemons44 thinking of you. Keep us posted if you're in the mood x

TheBirdintheCave · 01/05/2023 08:21

@lemons44 Good luck for today! :D

After complaining that I felt normal, I woke up this morning feeling a bit nauseated so that's fun 🙄 Come on body, at least make it to the scan tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️

CR7 · 01/05/2023 08:28

For my ladies on pessaries. Do you sit still after or lie down? For how long? I find even if I lie down for a solid hour after using them it still all seems to leave my body xx

Triselly · 01/05/2023 08:36

@CR7 I’ve been wondering about this too. The dr told me not to worry about any discharge as your body as absorbed everything by that point and it’s just waste passing out. Plus I know a fair amount is being absorbed as I’ve been monitoring my bb temperature, and it’s super high which is a sign of high progesterone levels.

I do try to lie down for an hour or so afterwards just to make sure (am doing exactly that right now :D)

CR7 · 01/05/2023 08:40

@Triselly me too! My dr told me twenty minutes should suffice but I'm not convinced haha.

Especially as my progesterone was low before transfer. I have the injections now also so no way those aren't absorbed but still. After doing three cycles and a mock cycle; the mock cycle being just before this cycle, I can't wait to stop doing them, even though with a positive test I need to keep doing them xx

Triselly · 01/05/2023 09:05

@CR7 Am I misremembering that today is your test day?

OP posts:
CR7 · 01/05/2023 09:42

@Triselly yes I only had my transfer last Tuesday xx

Triselly · 01/05/2023 11:51

I don’t know where I got that from then @CR7 , it did seem a bit early 🫠

OP posts:
CR7 · 01/05/2023 11:57

@Triselly I can't remember anything these days haha xx

lemons44 · 01/05/2023 18:05

Hi ladies. We managed to get 13 eggs, which we are very happy about. Very nervous about the next stage though. Our sperm is frozen from a micro-tese surgery on my husband so very anxious about how the sperm has thawed and how many fertilise. Hopefully will find out tomorrow morning.

How is everybody doing? xx

lemons44 · 01/05/2023 18:07

Also regarding the progesterone pessaries, I have to take my first one soon and I've been told by my clinic to insert it then walk for 20mins! I kind of wish I was told to insert it and then lay down and relax 🤣 going to try and time it with the dog walk every day

CR7 · 01/05/2023 18:08

@lemons44 we have all been told the opposite xx they "melt" very quickly even when lying down and end up in your pants 🫤

CR7 · 01/05/2023 18:08

@lemons44 amazing news on those numbers! Fingers crossed for tomorrow xx

CR7 · 01/05/2023 18:09

I was told you can lie down or carry on with whatever it is you're going to do next, after inserting a pessary. It seems all clinics have a slightly different way of doing things. From all the research I've done, IVF is an art, not a science.

CR7 · 01/05/2023 18:12

@SarahShorty isn't it mad how we all get different advice 🤣

SarahShorty · 01/05/2023 18:13

@CR7 it is!

Triselly · 01/05/2023 19:42

@lemons44 excellent numbers!! Do you know when you’ll hear about fertilisation? And whether you’re doing 3dt or 5dt?

OP posts:
pongom · 01/05/2023 19:51

@lemons44 thats a brilliant number of eggs! Well done! I hope lots fertilise for you, I’ll be keeping everything crossed x
