Anyone out there starting/continuing IVF treatment next month (April 2023)?

I’m 36, first time everything, and due to start stims early April. Wondering if there are others who might like a thread to chat/vent?

If you’re out there and in a similar position, let me know!

@TheBirdintheCave if your husband is fired for being by his wife's side during a very sensitive time, I'd like to know who they are so I can avoid any services from them.

Triselly · 29/04/2023 15:04

I agree, @SarahShorty

Hello everyone, happy saturday and hope you are all doing ok xx

I saw this, for those of us on the tww train, it’s super cheesy but maybe it doesn’t necessarily have to be photo based, it could be useful just for finding things to keep you distracted:

@Triselly this is lovely. How are you getting on. Remind me what day you're on xx

Triselly · 29/04/2023 16:04

Ah, all good cheers @CR7 ! Trying not to worry too much. I’m 2dp3dt, a couple of days behind you I think?

OP posts:
CR7 · 29/04/2023 16:05

Yes, yes of course. Hope you're relaxing xx

I feel no different whatsoever as per usual ha

RunningOnHope · 29/04/2023 17:50

Thanks @Triselly I like that.

5dp5dt transfer now, and 10dpo is usually when I'm spotting and gearing up for AF. So I'm starting to feel nervous about bleeding, I don't quite believe that the progesterone will hold it off. But so far so good.

TheBirdintheCave · 29/04/2023 18:14

@RunningOnHope So far so good! 😬

Have the rest of you been told 14 days before a test? My clinic says 11 🤔

@CR7 I hope the company treats him well! :) I've never flown with Tui before.

@SarahShorty He works for a university.

CR7 · 29/04/2023 18:49

@TheBirdintheCave transfer for me was a Tuesday with the Monday as my official test date x

RunningOnHope · 29/04/2023 21:30

I think I'm on the verge of madness. I shone a torch on my pantyliner today to see if my CM had a tiny hint of pink in it... I think it was actually the tiniest hint of orange, from the pessary.

lemons44 · 29/04/2023 22:07

Some of my trigger shot dripped out my stomach when we pulled it out ☹️ it's really stressed me out. Has this happened to anybody else? Also at the start when we removed the air a few drips came out then. FEEL SO STRESSED I recon we lost 4 small drops in total. Am I being totally paranoid?!! Help!

SarahShorty · 29/04/2023 22:18

@lemons44 totally normal xx I had the same thing with mine. You'll always get a small amount drip out, it's not as much as it looks.

RunningOnHope · 29/04/2023 22:22

@lemons44 the drips at the start are definitely not a problem, they include extra in the dose to allow for it. I'm sure you're absolutely fine, but do call the clinic for reassurance in the morning if you feel worried.

lemons44 · 29/04/2023 22:31

@RunningOnHope @SarahShorty thanks both. I just found this whole trigger shot process so stressful and just had an argument with DH about it as he was the one doing it and I think he pulled the needle out too quick. It wasn't much liquid and now I've calmed down and am thinking more rationally i think I am probably over reacting.
I think I just feel a lot of pressure about it! And I'm nervous for egg collection on Monday and also I feel very hormonal today and yesterday so I'm not in the best place this evening!
Appreciate you both replying so quickly xx

RunningOnHope · 29/04/2023 22:35

@lemons44 Ah its such a tough time, it feels like there's so much riding on it all. You'll be absolutely fine for egg collection, it was the bit I was most nervous about and I'd do it again tomorrow to get another batch of little embryos ❤

My next madness – I feel like my boobs are more painful tonight than ever, although they've been really sore since starting progesterone. And I think I had a small wave of nausea. Buuuuut, I'm also exhausted because I was up at 5.20am with a toddler who didn't sleep last night, so probably the nausea was just that, I get it when I'm tired, and probably my boobs are just sore because it's evening and I had the progesterone a couple of hours ago.

I thought there'd be no symptom spotting with IVF but here it is!

Triselly · 30/04/2023 08:12

@RunningOnHope haha yeah I am with you there, even though there is no way there could possibly be any symptoms for me yet! But every twinge, every single thing, I’m wondering if it’s a symptom.

Plus worrying about everything, even really really ridiculous things, like will sneezing dislodge the embryo, or will my waistband on my joggers squash it? I know this is just not possible 😅

OP posts:
pongom · 30/04/2023 09:13

I’ve gone mad on symptom spotting too! Every pain wonder if it’s implantation or if I’ve just eaten too much 😂

I was getting low pains like I get before my period yesterday so I was feeling a bit crap about that and now I have had some spotting when I wiped this morning so I’m feeling pretty sad and deflated today and think I might be out this round. Test day is Friday so at least I’ll know next week for sure.

Triselly · 30/04/2023 09:26

We just heard from our clinic that none of our remaining embryos were good enough to freeze. Pretty upset about that - we have just this one chance now, or else we’ll have to start again from the beginning. They said one of the three was looking really good when we left last time so I don’t really know what went wrong.

OP posts:
CR7 · 30/04/2023 10:01

@Triselly so sorry to hear xx let's send all our love to this one to be strong

Triselly · 30/04/2023 10:16

Thank you @CR7 hope that you’re doing well today xx

@pongom I’m so sorry, didn’t see your comment before posting. It could possibly be implantation bleeding though, this isn’t over until it’s over.

Thinking of you and hoping that it was just a bit of random spotting ❤️

OP posts:
lemons44 · 30/04/2023 10:34

@Triselly sorry to hear the other were not strong enough to freeze. I will be keeping everything crossed for this one!!

Regarding the sneezing and stuff. Somebody once described it to me as the embryo is like a grain of salt on a peanut butter sandwich slice. This really help me to visualise how nothing we do will dislodge it and if it isn't meant to be that's out of our control.

@pongom sorry you're feeling deflated. it must be so stressful to have spotting at this stage. Send a big hug xx

TheBirdintheCave · 30/04/2023 10:52

@Triselly So sorry there were none to freeze ☹️

@pongom I hope it was just a random bit of spotting!

SarahShorty · 30/04/2023 13:59

@Triselly I'm so sorry 😔 xx Sending hugs and wishing for the very best for your one. I pray the little one is a fighter.

CR7 · 30/04/2023 14:02

@lemons44 love this xx a wise woman once said to me that if it was that easy to dislodge an embryo no one would need an abortion

Heavy but true

Triselly · 30/04/2023 20:38

Best of luck tomorrow @lemons44 for your egg collection, please let us know how it goes if you feel like it!

@CR7 do you have your blood test tomorrow? Xx

OP posts:
RunningOnHope · 30/04/2023 20:42

Sorry to hear @Triselly, that is tough.

Good luck @lemons44!

I'm feeling a bit down tonight, we tested spontaneously at 6dp5dt and it was negative. It was afternoon when I'd only weed a couple of hours before. But wish we hadn't done it, I feel pretty negative about it.
