IVF April 2023 - looking for buddies!

Anyone out there starting/continuing IVF treatment next month (April 2023)?

I’m 36, first time everything, and due to start stims early April. Wondering if there are others who might like a thread to chat/vent?

Good luck with transfer! Have you had an update call on your blasts?

@charja100 No, they said they'll give me the update once we're there. I guess if none made it, they'd call this morning to save us the trip... so hoping we've got one or two going strong!

My transfer was in the afternoon maybe that's why they called in the am. Sure it's great news, let us know how you get on today 💕

Egg collection done! Was a bit uncomfortable, afterwards the dr said they probably hadnt used enough local anaesthetic 🙄 but they got 8 eggs. So a bit better than we were expecting! Just waiting for an update tomorrow morning about how many fertilised.

I was sedated for mine. Did they choose not to do that for you?

You must be so relieved this stage is over. Eight is a lovely number.

My medications just arrived and the fridge ones are safely stowed. It's all feeling very real now. Just need AF to show up on time tomorrow and then first jab is 8pm Wednesday 😬

Congratulations @Triselly! I was also sedated for mine. Not sure how I'd have felt if it was only a local!

@TheBirdintheCave ahhhh I thought it was 525. We have tons of space then.

Make sure none of the boxes touch the inside of the fridge. One of mine got wet and the contents went funny. I got some giant freezer bags and put the boxes in the stop that happening again xx

Well done @Triselly , 8 is fab news! Did you have a sedation as well as the local anaesthetic? I was completely unconscious throughout mine (despite it being technically a 'waking sedation'), I felt like I'd had a fantastic sleep!

@CR7 I remember the nurse warning me about that so I've kept them in the plastic bag they came in and must have checked the placement of them in the centre of the fridge about five or six times to make sure nothing was touching 😂

Thank you guys ❤️ @pongom I didn’t really get any sedation in the end? I got some Valium but that literally lasted about 2 mins and then wore off before they’d even started. It definitely didn’t feel like I’d had any pain relief or local anaesthetic at all. But I am in a Scandi country so very jealous of everyone in Britain getting properly knocked out!

@TheBirdintheCave It’s so exciting when all the drugs are safely at yours and you’re ready to go! Hope AF turns up in a timely fashion.

I have an embaby on board!

It was pretty painful to be honest, there's quite a sharp bend in my vagina (sorry tmi) which makes speculums not pleasant. But really glad it's done and it was incredible to see the embryo on screen and watch it being placed into me! I can't believe how much you get to see.

There's another in the freezer and one more that we're waiting for another 24 hours so should hear tomorrow afternoon if it's made it to the freezer too. Pleased to have made it to this point 😁

@RunningOnHope ahhh amazing!! It sounds absolutely incredible, getting to see your potential child when they a few cells big! Enjoy being PUPO 😄

Must admit I feel a bit anxious. I've had cramps all day it feels like AF is on her way but I don't have heavy bleeding and it seems too early.

What was pink spotting last night is now dark red / brown today and not deep in colour. It's making me even more frustrated with this TWW malarkey. I'm so impatient I just want to know I feel a bit all over the place!

Is it transfer day for you tomorrow?

Did anyone order their meds through Stork? If so, how long did it take to hear from them. I ordered them Thursday and still waiting.
