Hi everyone,
Thought I'd create a new thread as the TTC Oct and Nov we're so helpful to me :) There were so many BFPs in the Nov group so statistics doing their thing there will be lots of BFPS in this Dec thread too which is super exciting.
Im currently on CD3 of my 5th cycle TTC #2.

@Floralsandsmiles I am in very similar boat to you. First child almost 3 and just gone 36. Some months I have some spotting before others not really mentioned this to docs in app and they also said for me to go for the 21 day test. I am fairly sure for me though it's caused by the cervical ectophy I have - others have mentioned it on Mumsnet.
@TunnocksTCake thanks. Will see how long it lasts this month. Also started day 12 in the morning in Feb so seems to be regular at the moment
Aww OK, what's cervical ectophy @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 ? I've never heard of that? Xx

@Floralsandsmiles I think if you ovulated on CD 20 you will need to change the blood test date, it is CD 20 based on an ovulation date around CD14 (the 'average') and I think it needs to be done around a week after you O, to give the progesterone time to rise. See if you can push it back a week- maybe even say you got your dates wrong if they wont listen?!

@Floralsandsmiles just googled it and it should be 7 days before period is due, so yeah 7 days after O for a 14 day luteal phase.
Yes I just said this to the doctor, hold on that means it will be the day after ovulation and she said yes! So glad I checked! She also said to.count the first day of the period as the day I start spotting? Xxx

@Floralsandsmiles Oh so they want to go ahead with it anyway even though its the day after you ovulated? Ive always heard first day of period is first day of full flow, and spotting is in the luteal phase of the previous cycle...
Yep! I went through all this with them! I said that ovulation is on cd18 (not cd20 as I said, I just looked). And that was either a 4 day period with the heavy/ normal flow. However if I'm counting spotting too, it would be a 9 day period and ovulation happened on cd23?? But she was adamant that the blood test had to happen on the cd21 no matter where I was in the cycle?? Xxx

@Floralsandsmiles how frustrating! The NHS are so useless with any kind of cycle that isnt the 'normal' 28 day, ovulate on CD 14! If it is to track progesterone I am afraid that you wont get any kind of proper indication just 2 days after ovulation, BUT your results will com eback super low so maybe they will refer you quickly and you will get to talk to someone who actually knows what they are doing?! Feels like a waste of time though... can you find some resources online and maybe email them over as a last ditch attempt? OR do you know if any of the Drs at your surgery are perhaps more clued up on fertility (on my drs website you can see their bios) and could you ask to speak to them?
Sorry they are being so 'by the book' its so frustrating! This happened to me once and I went and got a medichecks to do at home on the right date but it shouldnt have to come to that.

Yes good idea. I was planning on just going at cd21 or day 7 after I've ovulated. Whatever comes sooner? Then it will be accurate? Worst case, it's low and they have to refer me and I can speak to someone about the right date? Best case, whatever day 7 days after ovulation falls on? Xxxx

@TunnocksTCake , I forgot to mention, the doctor actually said to me "you need to relax, it will happen and all this stress won't be helping".... seriously!!! Xxxx

@Floralsandsmiles it's basically cervical erosion. The cells from the womb grow outside on to the cervix and can cause bleeding. I'm fairly sure mine was caused by first pregnancy as it's due to hormonal changes. I had heavy bleeding at 20 weeks and felt for sure it was a miscarriage but it was just that cells bleeding.
I still have it now, they saw it on last smear but said as it's not causing issues to leave it be. I do think it cause me to have some spotting on some months a few days before period. Apparently 10% of pregnant women get it but I had never heard of it before I had it x

I’m on cd16 today and woke up raging and with really sore boobs. My ovulation predictor seemed way off and I am sure my OPS from Premom are way off too. Really wish I just got clearblue ovulation tests this month! So annoyed at myself. My husband also went out and we missed our fertile day as a result so I’m feeling bitter. Ok rant over! I hope this thread will be a positive one with lots of positives.

@Floralsandsmiles thank you. It was a horrible few hours and the treatment at the time was very unpleasant. I was lucky and I didn't have another bleed for the rest of the pregnancy as they had said at the hospital it could keep happening.
Omgoodness @Tryingtoconceivenumber2 ! Thank god you didn't have another bleed during pregnancy! Xxx

@TunnocksTCake my first month using ovusense and I love it! It's been so reassuring to see my temp up after my opk, it all matched up perfectly. I'm day 24 now and and a tiny tiny dip this morning and now can't wait for bedtime haha I get so excited each morning (lame). I was terrible at using a thermometer and have interrupted sleep so wasn't convinced on it. My next cycle it will predict my O and I can see the pattern before I O as well so can see it coming. There's loads of 20% codes off online.
