Hi everyone,
Thought I'd create a new thread as the TTC Oct and Nov we're so helpful to me :) There were so many BFPs in the Nov group so statistics doing their thing there will be lots of BFPS in this Dec thread too which is super exciting.
Im currently on CD3 of my 5th cycle TTC #2.

Hey 👋
Hoping some of the luck from the November thread makes it’s way over here.
I have a question - what is more trustworthy… the egg white discharge or the flashy/static face on the Clearblue ovulation test? I’m CD11 and have had flashy face for the last three days, but EWCM this morning. I’ve always taken that change as ovulation day, and the Flo app is suggesting that’s today, but I wonder if the digital test is more accurate and I should wait until I have a static face. (This is why I stopped using the tests, because the endless flashy face drives me mad, but I’ve started again to see if I can get a bit more accuracy). To be honest neither me or OH are feeling great this weekend but if it’s a good time then we’ll make the effort! 😆

Hi @Fallulah I had my flashing smile face for 11 days and finally a static on the evening of the 11th day! I had EWCM on day 9 I think.. so keep going for the static, it will happen! Xxx

Hi all! Hope I can join. TTC #1 and in 2nd cycle of trying (1st real cycle to DP 😂) currently on cycle day 20 so will be testing in a weeks time. We DTD twice this month so not a great deal but was definitely in my fertile window (if my OPK is correct).
Anyone else at a similar stage in cycle?
Cheetocat · 05/03/2023 17:19
@smldnlove We've been trying since June which was my first cycle after a loss. I'm getting so impatient now, I keep symptom spotting even though it's way too earlier, I woke up thinking I was cramping but I just needed a wee. 😅I don't want to test early because other months I tested early I went through so many tests thinking "okay maybe tomorrow it will be positive". I'm going to try my best to wait until 12DPO.
Feliciacat · 05/03/2023 17:31
Hey everyone! I’ve been in another thread since January but a few people are having issues so it’s become a fertility issues thread. Nothing wrong with that but I don’t want to seem insensitive by being all excited! So I’m joining this one! Good luck to you all!
I’m 35 and DP is 41. We’ve been ttc for 2 cycles (this is the third cycle). I’m very excited this month because I got clearblue ovulation tests and it turns out that I ovulate on CD11 (got my static smiley today). So I think that might be why the first two cycles weren’t successful. By the time I started trying hard to conceive, I’d already ovulated.
Christmas babies for all I hope!
1greentea · 05/03/2023 17:44
@smldnlove
I'm on day 23 today! First cycle using ovusense core and I LOVE IT. Haven't ovulated since October due to cysts, and ovusense told me I ovulated last Saturday, so 8 dpo today. Not very hopeful with everything my body has been doing for the last few months, I'm just so relieved to have ovulated at all! But will test maybe Thurs I think...no symptoms though. This would be my second baby xx
Feliciacat · 05/03/2023 19:13
@1greentea aww I’m glad you’re feeling hopeful! It’s really good that you ovulated so let’s hope it’s your month! The fact you managed to have a child before is surely a good sign as well!
@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 ooh hi cycle buddy! Sounds like you also had a similar issue to me as well where you were trying at the wrong time of the month. I think that’s why it can be so normal to take 3-6 months to conceive; it takes that long to learn what your body does! Fingers crossed!
smldnlove · 05/03/2023 19:34
@Cheetocat sorry about your loss, I imagine that must be still difficult for you both.
Totally on the cramping being a secret wee haha! I have definitely been cramping the last few days more than usual BUT in December I went on a period delay tablet for around 7 days for a holiday (so stupid) which kind of threw my period out of whack and last cycle was my first one back to normal. So could be that. I’m quite annoyed at myself for doing that but felt like a sensible choice at the time 🥲
Yes will definitely try my best too!! Have you had any other symptoms?
smldnlove · 05/03/2023 19:38
@1greentea Hiya! Yes another cycle buddy - I’ve never heard of ovusense, do you find it works well? Did you do anything particular first time round? Lovely you have a first too 🥰
Yes Thursday seems sensible to test, I’m trying to wait a week but feels so long away already. I have had some symptoms which are making me quite confused, lots of cramping and bloating… but trying to be realistic…
Moriquendi · 05/03/2023 21:19
Hi! Would love to join! Just got the coil out on 2/03/23 to TTC #2 so not sure quite yet where I am in my cycle (need to get some ovulation sticks!) Also have PCOS so cycles are very unpredictable anyway. Plan to DTD every other day from now and hope something happens! Also still breastfeeding which might complicate things further 😬
1greentea · 05/03/2023 21:24
@smldnlove it's a device that measures bbt but very accurately, have a Google! I'm sure it's going to get my pregnant! Ha.
No I think we had sex once or twice without protection when we were ready to start a family and bam, that was that! Very lucky first time around. So when we were ready for #2 my periods just disappeared out of nowhere, had loads of tests etc and a scan showed some cysts, had an MRI etc but think they are now resolving themselves and things are going back to normal! It's been tough.
How about you??
I have a lot of cm, tiny cramps on off but but nothing really, a stuffy nose, acne break out today, that's all. Nothing at all really.
Polkadotfloral · 06/03/2023 10:13
Hello, I'd love to join too! 😊My DH and I are currently in our 3rd cycle TTC #1. Currently CD14 and had the first flashing smiley of this cycle with my OPKs this morning.
I've only been off the pill since late December 2022 so I'm still figuring out exactly what my cycle is doing but if last cycle is anything to go by (was the first cycle I used the Clearblue digital OPKs) I should be ovulating around CD18/19. 😊
Keeping all my fingers crossed that this month will be our month! ✨
Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 06/03/2023 10:35
Ladies my opks have gone from 0.26 to 1.65 LH in 24 hours - pics of sticks added to premom app. Anyone know if this is normal wasn't expecting such a jump. My clear blue monitor also says peak today. I'm CD11/12 but I had positive sticks for 4 days last month.
Welcome @Polkadotfloral when I conceived #1 I came off the pill and got pregnant on cycle 3 think it took that long for it to still. Fingers crossed for you this month x
TunnocksTCake · 06/03/2023 11:01
@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 That can be normal yes, my peak for instance is always really quick and sometimes I don't even catch it unless I test 3 x a day. I think everyone is different and has different norms... I wouldnt worry though, a peak is a peak :)
I don't know what to expect this month, just coming to the end of my period now & it is coming and going which is frustrating but to be expected after a chemical I guess... I thought it had gone then got a whole new heavy flow this morning. I just want it to finish so I can gear up for O. I imagine it will be delayed with this longer bleed, but we shall see. Im all stocked up on IC OPKs and CB strips & will start testing CD 10 on Friday.
Ive often thought of getting an ovusense and in hindsight should have done so when ttc my first to get my moneys worth, doesnt seem worth it now but then who knows how long we will be trying for! I was really good at bbting with my first but I keep forgetting this time and Im not sleeping as well either so it is probably inaccurate. I can still see a shift most months anyway so I guess its still doing the job.
Floralsandsmiles · 06/03/2023 11:07
So coming up to 36 soon and it's been 13 years since my first DC. I am worried we will struggle to conceive. Tracking ovulation etc, but think I may have a short luteal phase. I'm stressing alot about it!
Spoken to doctors because my blood work come back with an iron deficiency. Am taking a supplement but my period is about 9 days! With the first 5 days being spotting. The doctors said that the low iron could contribute to the spotting and longer periods..
Anyways they are sending me for blood work to check progesterone level, but has to be CD21. (Worrying as ovulation was cd20 this month). Should I be concerned about this?
Then they are referring me for a scan and also an early smear to rule anything out.
My head is ready to explode! 😱😕 I'm also worried about a smear if we may be in the tww. Will this mean the conception won't be viable? So confused! Xxx
Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 06/03/2023 11:16
@Floralsandsmiles I am in very similar boat to you. First child almost 3 and just gone 36. Some months I have some spotting before others not really mentioned this to docs in app and they also said for me to go for the 21 day test. I am fairly sure for me though it's caused by the cervical ectophy I have - others have mentioned it on Mumsnet.
@TunnocksTCake thanks. Will see how long it lasts this month. Also started day 12 in the morning in Feb so seems to be regular at the moment
