Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

appointment was good; I couldn’t get bloods done today as it’s only CD18 so I’m back on Friday to get them done to get them done and get swabs done. He said once the results are back he’s going to refer me to fertility clinic if needs be and he was my partner to get a semen analysis check so have to talk him round to getting that done - which will be tricky as he doesn’t go near doctors and is a very private person 🙈 so hoping to have some answers next week.

i’m 8dpo today & my boobs ache abit but the cramping is continuous - I did test this morning and negative. Doctor has asked I test Friday morning with FMU as by the time I get in for bloods it’s 2pm and urine will be diluted by then.

@Nmmck93 are you feeling a bit better knowing that the GP is doing some tests?

I’ve gotta be honest stepping away from TTC has made me realise how stressed I was getting about it. It’s so hard not to be consumed by it. I kinda feel a bit of relief that I’m pausing it for a bit. I just feel I had no idea before going into TTC how overwhelming it can be.

@Nmmck93 ahh that’s really good that they’re organising tests for you and your partner, hope you’re able to persuade him first 😂

Have you tested yet this morning?

I tested and had a BFN, I was expecting it though. I was ill a little whilst on holiday so I suspect I may have ovulated later than expected and I think we probably completely missed it this time! (My immune system is terrible and I’m ill every other month at the moment! Seems to be after having Covid at the start of last year!). Although I expected it I’m of course still gutted though ☹️. My boobs still aren’t sore and I’ve not had any pre AF headaches so definitely think I’ve ovulate late and AF won’t arrive still next week.

@Bluebell0921 when I first started TTC and read about people taking breaks I didn’t understand it but now I’m completely get it, it really starts to take its toll emotionally doesn’t it! I’d be inclined to take a break for a few months however my partner isn’t keen and just sees it as wasted time. Think it’s definitely more emotional for women! 🥲

@kalixxx yeah, tested this morning and BFN. I had line eyes on the easy @ home test but deffs was just line eyes, boots early response was a negative too.

Aw sorry to hear that you got a BFN also. It’s really draining me now with the BFNs.
we’re giving it another go in august, but I’m bridesmaid in July next year and I don’t want to be a full 9 months pregnant so I’m trying to work out what months now I’m going to have to take a break and I think it’ll be September, October & November & then restart in December.

@Bluebell0921 the break sounds like it’ll help mentally so I’ll also be taking a break soon as stated before. Think it’ll do me the world of good if I’m honest. 🙈 I’m also on a job hunt soon for September so it’ll give me something to focus on.

It really is draining to keep getting negatives isn’t it, especially when the whole world seems to be falling pregnant at the moment, maybe that’s just everyone I know but it feels like the whole world! Of course fingers crossed next month will be your month but if not a break will definitely help mentally. You’ll also hopefully have some answers from the doctors by then as well!

@kalixxx @Nmmck93 I’m sorry to hear about your BFN ladies. @kalixxx sorry to hear you’ve been poorly as well. I’ve heard a lot of people say that after having covid! I deffo agree it’s so much more stressful for women. The men can just forget about it and enjoy all the sex.

@Nmmck93 totally get what you mean about the wedding. I feel like having a plan of when you’ll have a break will make you feel like you have a bit more control. That’s how I feel at the moment that I’ve just got a bit more control over my life. I don’t think I’ll have a break for ages either. Maybe until Jan.

Just an update; 14dpo today and AF due tomorrow but since last night had AF cramps and today I’m spotting so I’m out & no doubt she’ll be here in full flow in the next few hours / tomorrow. I prepared myself for AF coming so I’m not particularly sad.
I get my results from doctors Thursday / Friday.

onto the next cycle before our break so let’s hope a miracle occurs 🤞🏻

AF Arrived today which meant this month was only a 26 Day cycle 🙄
also got results back from doctors and he read them out in the phone and said they are all ‘normal’ - I just don’t know which test would have confirmed ovulation and does ‘normal’ mean I ovulated. So confusing.

@Nmmck93 hey! AF came for me on Monday so we’re almost in sync now! I wasn’t surprised at all so it’s on to cycle 8 🙄

My dads been really ill so thinking of TTC has taken a back seat but we’ll still give it a go this month.

Starting to feel a little bogged down with it now, really would have thought it would have happened by now ☹️

Glad to hear your results are all good! Could you try and speak to the doctor again go get a little more info? Did you manage to get your partner to go for the sperm test?

Yeah, I'm going to wait until the letter arrives that they sent out so I can see if they give me a breakdown and then ring and be like 'well it's not exactly clear if I ovulated so I'm hoping I could get some more info on that' kinda thing.

Yeah he was going to book but I kinda told him I'd rather wait until after our few months break becuse there's no point in getting tested when we're not trying because his tests could be find but when we pick back up things might have changed if you get me. So probably gunna book and get him tested in January 🤞🏻

@Nmmck93 Fingers crossed we can go through the TWW together this time! I didn’t use OPKs last month but think I’ll be picking them back up this month 😅

Yeah that’s a good idea! I was with a friend yesterday who’s cousin has just told them she’s pregnant after literally just being told they might struggle as she doesn’t ovulate every month!

Ahh yeah that makes sense, he’ll have some time to mentally prepare for it as well if he’s not really up for it 😅 I think in a couple months time we’ll pay for my partner to have a spree test. I’m also considering speaking to my GP as I’ve noticed my periods for the last few months have had quite large clots which wasn’t normal for me!

@Nmmck93 how have you been? 🩷

Due to the stress of my dad being unwell we’ve only managed to DTD once in my fertile window, maybe twice but as I haven’t tracked ovulation I’m not sure if it counts. Not holding any hope for this month which is making the TWW a lot easier.

@Bluebell0921 how’s the break from TTC doing? Have you decided when you’ll start again? 🩷

I've been struggling mentally, a lot of different factors but managed to DTD CD 7. 13 & 14 - caught my highest peak I've ever gotten on CD14.
Think I ovulated yesterday then due to pains and dropping right down to 0.09 today CD16 - might squeeze in DTD tonight.

We used preseed & fertiliy cup this month again but actually used the cup correctly this time.
We're both taking pregnacare & wellman conception - so we did what we could and now 1DPO and in the TWW.

I'm so sorry to hear you dad is still unwell, & the stress it causes you. I went through it with my dad at the end of April when he took a stroke and was in hospital for 2 months so I can understand you with the stress and trying to TTC! 💜

I'm kind of looking forward to this 3 month break that we've planned & if I don't get my BFP this month i get to enjoy my holiday next month without worrying about TTC. We're starting back up in December then. Throughout the 3 month break we'll still be taking all the vitamins we need just so our body soaks them all up.

I've been trying to read tips on what to do during TWW to aid implantation but nothing jumps out at me. I've upped my water intake in the last few days though as I would be someone who doesn't drink a lot of water 🙈

What DPO are you now?

@Nmmck93 it sounds like you’ve given yourself a really good chance this month. Sorry to hear things are feeling difficult though. It sounds like you’ve got a good plan for the next few months though.

I’m really enjoying the break. I’m not sure when I’ll start TTC again. I start my new job soon and we’ve booked an amazing holiday for Dec. So maybe Jan? It might depend on how work is going. I feel like I’ll just go with the flow and see how I feel in the NY.

You sound like you’ve managed to DTD enough to give you a good chance this month! If it’s not the month at least you can take the next 3 to chill out and reset!

I’m probably 11/12 DPO. I felt really faint earlier when round my mums and she asked if I’m pregnant. I had nooo desire to test until that moment so when I left I went out and got a boots early test, BFN ☹️ I was fully expecting a BFN this month but I’m sick of staring at negative tests month after month now!

Keeping everything crossed that this is your month!

I'm kind of dreading the few months break now that my last few DPO days are coming up.

I was doing great, wasn't symptom spotting or nothing until yesterday evening until I had a few hours of SEVERE lightning crotch that I don't think I have ever experience (I had to google sharp shorting pains in vagina) 🙈

So o put a post on MN and someone said she got it with her pregnancies at 8dpo and tested positive on 9DPO - so I'm 9dpo today and I tested this morning and was greeted with a BFN. Not putting myself out yet though 🤞🏻

Having really bad leg & backache today & also really muffled ears. Just going to test daily now until AF shows up because it'll be last run of POAS until December / January 🙈 xx

@Nmmck93 weirdly I had lightening crotch this time round!! Sadly didn’t amount to anything, AF arrived Wednesday 😔

The day before AF I ad such pain in my right ovary side, like ovulation pain but all day rather than a few sharp shocks, not had that before!

On to cycle 9 for me, I can’t believe it!

@kalixxx oh didn't amount to anything with me either, AF arrived yesterday, but the day before AF I was spotting when wiping and have ovulation type cramping also, how weird is that this cycle for us was basically the same.

That's me on a break now for a few months, had a proper cry all day yesterday, was so deflated & upset. Once we start back up my fiancé is going to go get his sperm analysis check & hope for the best!

I got my results back from GP shows I'm ovulating and everything looks good.

Hi ladies! Hope it's okay to join - currently CD28 and 5DPO and this is my first cycle TTC. I have had brown stringy discharge the last 3 days which I have never ever had prior to my period. Usually my cycle is 26 days without fail, but I was testing ovulation this month and I for some reason ovulated late (CD23 instead of CD15-17). Has anyone had anything similar? My app is telling my AF is due tomorrow but because of my late ovulation I'm guessing it's more like Monday onwards. When would you ladies say to start testing from? I know it's way too early but I have used so many tests already as i feel so anxious with the wait. Im sure you can all relate 💕

Hey guys! I'm almost into 1 year of ttc still trying no luck🙄 i ovulated yesterday evening based on bbt opks and ovulation pain, we dtd yesterday and the day before. 🙏
Last month we privately did some tests. I got day 3 and day 21 bloods which showed I ovulate. Also did AMH, prolactin and TSH, all fine.
Husband did semen analysis which was all good.
So basically, we will try for a month or two and then if no success, I plan to contact my gp to get referrals... I guess the next thing would be hycosy and maybe to try with clomid...
I feel maybe a bit better knowing basic tests were fine, and so far everything works good. But no baby yet.

Hi everyone,
I'm currently 6dpo and on cd 21. 2nd clomid cycle. We tried for 5 months and I already knew it would be hard. I've had PCOD since I was 13. Dr diagnosed me with primary infertility and started me on clomid. Last month I was on 100mg and didn't ovulate, this month 160mg and responding well to the medication. My cycles have gone from. 50 days to 30 and I had a mature follicle this month that actually ruptured instead of turning into a cyst, unlike all this time, so hoping for the best.

@Bluebell0921 Hey! AF arrived for me today so that’s another cycle I’m out for. The past 2 months we’ve not tired properly due to my dad being unwell, not been up for DTD much so it was no surprise when AF arrived!

Hopefully going to give it another good go this month, I can’t believe this is cycle 10 😱

@dormicumema that’s great to know all your basic tests came back fine! Sounds like you’ve covered DTD this cycle as well so fingers crossed for you!

This is cycle 10 for me so in a couple months I’ll be contacting a GP as well, I never imagined it would take this long 😖

@ceruleansky good to hear that your body is responding well to the medication. I have no experience with POCS but I’ve read a ton of positive stories on here with it happening for people not long after starting clomid, fingers crossed for you and keep us updated, you’re almost half way through the TWW!

@mav28 how did you get on with your first cycle?! Hoping it was first time lucky for you! ☺️

Thank you so much! Yeah halfway there. 🤣 I'm hoping it is a +ve this time because I only have one clomid cycle left. After this, my Dr is going to move on to more aggressive methods which I'm trying to avoid. :(

@Bluebell0921 you might be able to help with a question I have! I’m looking at applying for a new job, it’s a good pay incase so seems silly not to apply even though I doubt I’d get it, but worth a go! How long do you have to have worked in a job before falling pregnant to receive maternity pay? I’ve been Googling but I can’t work it out with all these weeks they list 😅
