Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

@Bluebell0921 Hey! It’s nice to hear you’ve had a relaxing break from TTC, hopefully just what you need to come back to it refreshed, if that’s what you choose after your job dilemma. I completely sympathise with you, it’s so hard being a woman having to pick between TTC and essentially being happy in your workplace. If only someone could tell us the date it would happen so we could plan accordingly. I would always prioritise your happiness as stress doesn’t help when TTC, but I also completely get not wanting to put it on hold. Are you leaning towards one more than the other?

@Nmmck93 Owh I’m so sorry to hear you had a negative, really routing for you that this is still your month! 9 DPO is the most common for implantation though so you could most likely be too early! Will you test again?

AF arrived on Saturday night for me which is actually right on queue, I hardly ever have 28 day cycles, usually always a little late. After Thursdays test I was completely prepared for it though so felt fine about it. We’re away during fertile week so at least we can relax and just DTD when we want. I think I’ll also try and get a doctors appt to see if I’m ovulating, worried they’ll turn me away though as I’m only cycle 7!

@Bluebell0921 we took the laid back approach this month, didn't stress about having to DTD but did do it within a good time frame before ovulation and after.
What's your plans for this month or have you not decided yet?

@kalixxx I know but I just don't feel like this is my month either. Im now prepared for AF to show up this weekend and then onto a new month.
I'm just going to ring my doctors after AF and ask on the phone if they could even just check me to see if they're is any cysts and that I just want to be checked to see if I am ovulating. If they turn me down there's not much can be done.

I'm thinking next cycle I'm going to try the pre seed lube & maybe just cut down on the vitamins I'm taking and make abit of a change their.

Hey guys, Sorry for not being here for a while!
I have had quite a stressful period at work also done some outside work on our yard last month so I just decided all together to stop tracking for a while and took a laid back approach!! Also stopped mumsnet because it was very consuming, just wanted a break :)
On TTC journey forever it feels... We got married October 2022 and started trying in November... So kind of decided to stop tracking during the summer and if it doesn't happen by September we are going to get help.
Usually ovulate on cd18 or 19, however this cycle I took one clearblue digital opk (found it on Friday in the back of the drawer while packing, currently on a holiday trip to Greece on Saturday for 11 days) on CD 16 and it was randomly positive, so don't know what to think about it, we DTD on Friday, Sunday and today, will see 😂
Hoping for BFP here, especially for @kalixxx @Nmmck93 and @Bluebell0921 I feel like we are here forever

@kalixxx @Nmmck93 hello both. I had a week off last week and was so drained, spent so much time thinking about whether to prioritise work or TTC. Ultimately though I came to a point where I was so down I just thought this wouldn’t be a good headspace for TTC or having a baby so need to prioritise finding a new job. I am lucky in that I work for a big organisation so moving within the organisation wouldn’t necessarily affect maternity pay but I would want to feel settled in a role before TTC. I’m going to focus on looking for something for the next couple of months and then reevaluate I think. I have seen a job I’m interested in that I’ve just applied for… wish me luck 😀

let me know how it goes for you both approaching the GP about testing for ovulation I have wondered if I could do that for peace of mind but I’m also only at 7 months so wasn’t sure if they would do it.

@Bluebell0921 aw I’m glad you’ve made a decision and maternity wouldn’t be affected. As I said I’m giving myself another month before job hunting for September and try not to stress myself out.

i’m just basically going to tell the doctor it’s driving me absolutely crazy that I’m unsure if I am ovulating and it’s consuming my every day thoughts, which is 100% not a lie. It’s all I think about & just hope she can do the test to check for ovulation.

I done a test this morning just a cheap baby mad strip, and I swore I seen a VVVFL so I left it to the side and told myself if there’s a line it’ll dry in a little bit darker after the time but nothing, think I was 100% seeing things. So just going to try hold off now until AF shows on Friday / Saturday as I don’t want to use my FRER tests until I have a missed period as they are like absolute gold dust and can’t get them anywhere.

my sister has invited me to hers this weekend for a few drinks, I’ve told her I’ll let her know Friday 😂 I don’t want to say yes just in the 1% chance I get my BFP lol.

@Nmmck93 its so hard not to be consumed by it isn’t it and as each month passes it gets more overwhelming. It’s the uncertainty isn’t it, our minds just wander. I hope they will do the tests and put your mind at ease. Keep us updated. Hopefully you get a BFP before then but if not you’ve got a plan! Xx

@Bluebell0921 oh fingers crossed, AF due in 2 days, haven’t tested this morning just going to wait for AF.
i did find out my sister is pregnant yesterday, she has a 1 year old she’s had 2 miscarriages also before and after the 1 year old - non of her pregnancies planned and she was on the pill for this pregnancy. She’s only a week late for AF and her line is so strong you can barely see the control line on both tests. Just abit disheartening knowing how long some of us try then people get accidentally pregnant without trying etc. so abit down in the dumps today.

been on looking at that preseed line for next cycle aswell & thinking about cutting down my vitamins except seven seas trying for a baby.

Ohhh snap. I'm in the TWW and did a test BFN. 6 more days till af is due. However I would normally be expecting af now but ovulated a week later than normal.
So I think I'm out this time. Just waiting for af. Its so hard not to be disappointed

@Nmmck93 aw lovely I’m sorry it is hard. You want to be happy for people but it can feel really unfair too. It’s totally ok to feel down about it. Does your sister know you’re trying? I remember when we were trying (early days) I found out my sister got pregnant by accident. Also on the pill. Sadly ended up in miscarriage but I think I’ve id been trying for a while I would’ve found it much harder. It those naive days I was hoping I’d get pregnant and we’d be pregnant together. Go for it with the pressed… why not? Can’t cause any harm can it!

@Ttc2n it’s so hard not to be disappointed. You’re still early though, you’re not out until AF.

@Bluebell0921 yeah she's the only one knows outside of my OH and Mumsnet. Im disheartened but also in the back of my mind I worry about her being pregnant again because she wouldn't be in a great relationship and struggles with her 1 year old as it is. But what can you do, just be there is all.
Yeah I was reading threads on here if people using preseed, I don't produce a lot of CM so next cycle I'm aiming to drink water (which I am awful at doing) and just make some lifestyle changes.

@Nmmck93 do you think she’ll be considerate of you? It’s always a tricky balance it’s important people can be excited and happy but also important to recognise that it can be challenging for those TTC.

that sounds like a good idea! I feel unsure about my CM. I sort of forget to look and then I find if you’re having regular unprotected sex it’s hard to know if it’s CM or sperm (sorry if TMI). If you try it you’ll have to update us with a review!

I’m OK! I found out that I’ve been shortlisted for the job and I have an interview next week. Fingers crossed for me!

@Bluebell0921 no she wouldn’t be the most considerate. Just have to put in a brave face despite breaking inside.
what makes it worse this morning (day AF is due) I took a test just to rule myself out completely as I’m going to my sisters for games night tomorrow night and got my first ever EVAP line. 😭

I’ll keep you updated on preseed, I also got Inositol & the fertility cup so we’re going with lots of new things next cycle.

@Nmmck93 aw lovely I’m so sorry. It’s so disappointing when people are a bit thoughtless and get caught up in their life. Take it a day at a time and it’s totally ok to step back from things if it feels too much. You can always come and chat to us on here if you are upset about anything.

I was also wondering about the fertility cup too! I would like all the reviews please! 😆 if I’m gonna put this off for a few months I need to come back with a bang… literally.

I’m CD 9 now, we’re going away Wednesday so will have plenty of time to DTD and just chill out, also will be away for the whole first week of the TWW which should help me speed through it!

I think we’re gonna go completely chill this month and not use OPKs. Unsure wether to take my ferti-lily away with us, can’t be doing any harm using it though can it? 🧐

@kalixxx once I knew my test was negative at 12/13dpo I prepared myself for AF and enjoyed my weekend lol.

I’m off work in 2 weeks which is near the end of my predicted fertile week so I’m ringing doctors then as I can’t get in when I’m working so hopefully I’ll be seen. I’ll keep updated. 💜

i was actually thinking of ditching the OPKs this month, but I think I’d be too anxious not using them and making sure I caught my peak but have read success stories that people conceived when they didn’t track and relaxed. So maybe I should just put them aside this month. 🙈

I would take the fertilily if you have one, I’m waiting on mine arrive aswell this month.

i’m bridesmaid in July next year and I’m trying to work out which months to take a break from TTC as I don’t want to be a full 9months pregnant at the wedding 🙈 I think I have to take a break September and October if I’m correct lol.

@Nmmck93 folate is the same as folic acid! There is 200mg, the best would be to take 400mg daily while ttc and first trimester!
I read about some active form of folates (5-methyl something but I could be wrong) and how some women have trouble when ttc due not able to get the folates from normal vitamins, can't apsorb it So I ordered some of those! Fingers crossed myoinositol does something this month for you!! Let us know!
@kalixxx im somewhere 8 dpo, Honestly don't feel anything so not sure about this month. Me and DH have an agreement when summer ends to dig into fertility testing, maybe by September ill call my gp for blood test, had usg in January and pap smear which were good, I was then CD 12 and dominant follicle was seen on it, ovulated on CD 18 so hopefully it means I do ovulate.

I’ve been on such a rollercoaster of emotions over the last few weeks but I feel I have come out the other side. I’ve been offered the new job which I have accepted! As it’s part of the same organisation I am still entitled to maternity pay but I think I may take a break until after Christmas from TTC. I haven’t quite decided yet but I’m really excited about this new job. Lots of opportunities and I just really want to get stuck in. It feels exciting!

AF came and gone; 1 day really heavy and then very very light for 3 days. Was weird because I usually am always in such pain on the heavy day of AF and days leading up I get such sore breasts but I didn’t have that. So I didn’t think anything of it.

i’m CD 10 now and last night when I went to the bathroom I wiped and had blood, this carried on through the night and disappeared today but my OPKs where rising from yesterday and just got a blazing positive this evening - looks like I’ll be ovulating early.
DTD earlier and tried using the fertiliy cup and preseed but couldn’t work the cup and ended up pulling a lot of it out with the cup which proper disheartened me just hoping some got right up in.
just going to keep OPK’ing for the next week or two to make sure today was peak day. Hoping to give BD’ing another go tomorrow just to cover incase I ovulate overnight lol.

Sorry I’ve also been MIA, I’ve just come back from holiday and really tried to forget TTC whilst away. It was fertile week but I didn’t track and I think we only managed to DTD twice during that time, staying in a villa with other family wasn’t very convenient! Not holding out hope for this month.

I expect I’m 7/8 DPO today.

did you get an ovulation pains to kinda gauge when you ovulated?

I’ve had an awful cycle, I got my peak on CD10 which is 6/7 days earlier than expected so we DTD on CD10 & CD12 - since CD9 I’ve had cramping in the right ovary area, I’m now 5dpo ish and pain is continuing. I’m still tracking OPKs until AF just incase I peak again. I’ve been so tired aswell.

I don’t have any tests until about Wednesday or so, which means I won’t be super early testing 🙈 but I’m making a doctors appoint for Wednesday just to try get the pains checked out as it could possibly be a cyst which would correspond with pains previous cycles 🙁

I didn’t get any pains, I don’t seem to get them every cycle, hoping that’s not a bad thing! I can’t remember how many DPO it was but I had some very slightly pink discharge, but so slight I kept looking at it like am I imagining this 😅

Oh how strange! Do you think you could mention you’ve been trying a while to see if they can check if you’re ovulating?

I have 2 tests but they’re only cheap ones so won’t be testing till Friday when I’ll be 12/13 DPO (I think!)

My OH has booked us a holiday in September to turkey as a surprise for my 30th (it's in December so it's an early surprise) & I can't wait to get away again 🙈

Yeah on the phone this morning when making my appointment they asked a brief despcription and I just said I'm TTC and having some pains and some mid cycle bleeding as on the day of my peak I started bleeding that night through until lunchtime next day which is so weird for me. My partner said I should tell the doctor I've been trying nearly a year as doc might be more inclined to test to see if I'm ovulating just so I know. Unsure what to do, appointment is at 2:30 Wednesday. I am going to write down on paper everything about my cycles so I don't forget nothing 🙈

Yeah try and hold out as much as you can. My easy @ home tests arrived yesterday and im trying to hold out as im only 6DPO but when I go to docs I'll be 8dpo and they'll deffs dip my urine then for pregnancy so I won't feel the urge to test again until AF is late or on the day of AF lol.

How did the appointment go today?!

AF is due Saturday for me and so far I have no symptoms except that my boobs don’t hurt, not sure if that counts as a symptom 🤣 but they’d usually be hurting by this point and so far nothing, not sure if that means anything!

I’m going to hold out till Friday to test I think!
