Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

@Bluebell0921 ahh well hopefully that’s a good sign! If AF comes I’ll really feel for you, it’s so unfair how our bodies can play tricks on us!! I remember on like cycle 3 my nipples were sooo painful which has never happened and I was this is it, it’s go to be, it was not 😅😂

@Nmmck93 sounds like good signs!! I’ve read quite a few people say they’ve felt pulling feelings super early on! Hopefully the weekend will help you hold out from testing!

The only thing keeping my hopes up is my cervix has remained high and soft whereas usually it’s a bit all over the place and feels harder by now!

@kalixxx I really need to look into how to check my cervix lol. Feeling hopeful for you.

What's so annoying is before TTC I would never have had any of these symptoms (or maybe I did and becasue I wasn't symptom spotting I just didn't realise) so each month I'm like 'oh my gosh, is this the month' 🙈

@Nmmck93 I’ll try and explain in the nicest way poss 🤣 I just feel for the ball feeling thing which is at the deepest point in your vagina (I hate that word ahah). If it feels high up and soft like your lips you could have conceived, if it feels low and hard like the tip of your nose then AF could be coming.

I don’t find it that accurate as apart from this cycle mine seems to move up and down and feel different everyday!

Just wondering if anyone can give me any advice.. I've recently got divorced and very happy with my new partner. I already have 3 children to my ex and just turned 32. My new partner has no children and we have talked about having one together. We started trying but I just have a gut feeling it's never going to I happen I've always fell on the first or second try before.

@Elephant1991 I don’t have much experience, other than that I fell pregnant at 19 the one time me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex, so I expected it to happen at a lot quicker than this, so I know what you mean 😅 That ended in a MC at 5-6 weeks, it was so long ago I’m not even sure now!

I’ve read loaaads of threads on here where people have posted how long it took to conceive each time and it was always really random like DD1 cycle 1, DD 2 cycle 10. So don’t be put off it hasn’t happened yet! Try not to listen to your gut too much, I feel like as humans we always think the worst when it comes to TTC!

@Elephant1991 i feel like this probably isn’t the best thread for that sort of advice given that it’s called “TTC #1” 😅 we probs aren’t gonna be much help. All I can say is that healthy couples can take up to a year to get pregnant on average and that is considered normal so just because you haven’t fallen pregnant on the first few times that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

@kalixxx @Nmmck93 ladies I feel exactly the same as you! I’m now thinking have all my adult life I felt these symptoms before AF and just never noticed them before 😅 spotting seems to have stopped now. We’ll see if I wake to AF tomorrow!

when is AF due for both of you again?

@kalixxx oh seems complicated & probably something I shouldn't do as I would probably end up damaging myself inside with my long nails - off topic I'm already saying to myself 'omg when I have a baby I'm going to have to get my nails done so much shorter) so for now I'm going proper pointy each appointment 😂

@Bluebell0921oh keep us posted, hoping she stays away and we get another BFP. My AF isn't due until June 1st which is absolutely ages away for me. When on holiday my DPO days seems to pass so quick and today I'm 7dpo and feels like it's been two days already 😂 really just want to test but it's wayyyyy too soon! As long as I get up in the mornings for the next few days and go straight in and for my first morning wee then I'll not be able to test because I'll tell myself it isn't accurate 😂

@Bluebell0921 AF is due tomorrow for me and I’ve got a really bad headache which I do before AF every time so it’s not looking good! I also think I might be starting to get some cramping ☹️ what about you?

@Nmmck93 I’ve had the exact same thought about having to have short nails when I have a baby! Just got to conceive said baby first 😅

That’s what I’ve been doing, getting the morning wee out the way with then I’ve managed to resist testing!

@kalixxx i know, I said the same to my OH when he mentioned my nails and I said ‘well I think about it more when we conceive baby’ lol.

i’ve kinda lost all hope for this cycle now as my CM has dried up, the entire day today I’ve had nothing which I don’t think is a good sign.
still having niggling and tightening the odd time throughout the day & now im sat thinking implantation was trying to happen but failed 😢 8dpo (as it’s 1:30am lol) and I’ve already put myself out. 🙈

@Nmmck93 definitely don’t lose hope yet! You’re still soooo early and you never know the CM could be back today!

I would urge anyone to avoid FRER, I’m 15 DPO today and still another very faint line within the window! This is the strongest indent I’ve had but would need to be a lot stronger to be a BFP! I’m pretty sure AF is gonna arrive today but if not I’m gonna get a different brand for the morning. I did pee at 4am so unless my urine wasn’t strong enough but I’m pretty sure it’s on to cycle 6 for me 🥲

@kalixxx @Nmmck93 haha! Love that about the nails. I’m more of a short nail gal myself. But I regularly have thoughts of “I wouldn’t be able to do this if I had a baby” 😂

@kalixxx there’s definitely a line there. How do you tell the difference between an indent and a BFP? I don’t necessarily think how strong it is would be an indicator at this stage I’m sure I’ve seen people on here not get a BFP until a week after their missed period.

im due AF on Sat. Deffo feeling crampy now and headache too so I think she’s en route.

@Bluebell0921 from what I can see there’s not any colour to the line, it’s just grey, which would mean indent. I have seen people take longer to get their BFP so I supposed maybe there is a chance this could be the start of a line, but I’m not convinced 🥲

I’m also a bit crampy and still have a headache so I’m convinced AF will arrive on time today!

@kalixxx well how bloody unfair if it is an indent. I really hope it isn’t and it is the beginning of your BFP. If AF doesn’t come today will you try and get some other tests? I heard boots ones are good?

@Bluebell0921 I’ll feel very cheated by FRER if todays is an indent! But I’m fully expecting it so at least I won’t be disappointed if AF arrives! I think I might get a digital for tomorrow morning and just make sure I don’t pee in the night! Or if I get time to go to a boots I might try theirs, I’ve also heard good things!

Hoping AF stays away for you too! If you don’t come on tomorrow with you test again?

@kalixxx it might be worth testing again after a 3+ hour hold this evening, I have found my lines to be much darker in the evening that FMU.

is there any colour in that line? It would be a very dark line for an indent, I hope not 😔🤞🏻

@Tempeliz I might try again this evening! Sadly I can’t see any colour in it ☹️ It is strange how dark it is if it is an indent, but I’m not holding out any hope!

@kalixxx if that’s an indent it looks very strong, maybe try a different brand, boots or clearblue digitial 6 days early?

I caved this morning and tested at 8dpo along side an ovulation test (for science lol) and both were very much negative, it was SMU aswell but I couldn’t settle. Took the itch off to test and it’s very early yet but will test again Sunday 10dpo. I used a one step & a boots strip this morning. hopefully it’s just that implantation hasn’t occurred yet. I feel really down since last night for some reason, have a gut feeling this isn’t my month. 😭

@kalixxx i always try not to be too hopeful coz I hate the disappointment (even though I still always feel disappointment no matter how hard I try). So it must be very hard seeing those lines and thinking it’s an indent. I’d be testing all bloody day if I was you. You’re very restrained! 😂 Any signs of AF yet? Yes I’m going to test tomorrow morn if I haven’t woken up to AF. I’ve been doing BBT as well and last month the morning AF came BBT dropped so much so that was a bit of a giveaway before even getting out of bed. I’m really crampy now so I’m pretty sure it’ll come.

@Nmmck93 aw lovely it’s such an emotional rollercoaster isn’t it. We’re trying to make something happen that we really want and have no idea when it’ll happen. We don’t have all that much in our control (aside from making healthy choices and DTD at the right time) so we’re bound to have ups and downs. How long have you been trying? I can’t remember if I’ve asked you before. I’m losing track of who I’ve said what to 😂

@Bluebell0921 oh I know, we go through all the emotions don't we, what doesn't help is seeing people make threads saying they got pregnant and don't want to be pregnant because they hadn't used protection after a drunken night. Wish that could happen for us who are TTC'ing. 🙈 this is my 4th Cycle; I know it takes longer but it is just disheartening each negative test. 😢

@Nmmck93 omg I feel exactly the same when I read those posts. Especially if I see them on a bad day. I’m just like wtf how does that happen???!!!! Of course it does lovely, don’t feel you have to explain why you feel down. I feel like I started getting stressed about it after month 2 I really thought it would’ve been so quick 😂 wish I could’ve enjoyed those early months a bit more but it’s just so hard not to get into your head about it when it’s not happening even though we know it’s normal to take a year xx

@Bluebell0921 yeah, it's worse on a bad day and I come across them. & you have family like 'time for a baby now' & you just want to shout 'ITS NOT LIKE WERE NOT TRYING' 😂
Have you been trying long? I think I'm more hard on myself because im bridesmaid in July 2024 and I want to be pregnant and have a baby by then. I told myself I was going to stop trying in august but then decided F it; if she doesn't want me to be bridesmaid if im pregnant then that's fine because this is something we want so badly im not changing it for anyone. 🙈

@Nmmck93 i find it hard to establish how long I’ve been trying for coz the first few months it was a bit sporadic and then I had a few months break nov/Dec. I think it’s probably been about 6 months properly trying. I had someone ask me in work if I was going to have children the other day I was so caught off guard and flabbergasted I didn’t know what to do. It was so awkward. I had my ideal scenario and then every month I didn’t get pregnant I’d just be like ah I just want it to happen now. You’ve gotta do what’s best for you ultimately so if you’re pregnant at your friends wedding then so what. Plus how cute would you look with a baby bump in your bridesmaid dress 😍 can’t put your life on hold for other people.

omg I’m in the same situation with people saying when are you going to have a baby? As soon as my body lets it happen, I’m trying as hard as possible 😭😂

@kalixxx it’s so awkward isn’t it?! I now can’t believe that people tell everyone they’re trying it feels so naive given how long it can take. How are you getting on? I had more brown spotting this eve so fully expecting to wake up to AF tomorrow.

@Bluebell0921 aw; hopefully it happens for us all soon and we beat the odds of it taking a year!
I refuse now to put my life on hold for anyone, I’m sure when i announce I’m pregnant eventually I can then tell them how hard it was to actually conceive and how much we wanted it and I’m sure they would then understand.

@kalixxx i know; I get caught off guard and just kind of half heartedly laugh. My partners sister is due in 5 weeks, she got pregnant first month of trying; and his dad has been bringing up the last few weeks to us about a baby and how our new house would be complete with a baby and the other bedroom could be a nursery etc and my partner just responded ‘aye eventually’ I just couldn’t speak. People don’t realise what some people have to go through just for that little miracle.
