Hi All.

This is a continuation from my past thread, but no need to go read that one if you're new here!

Quick TD;LR from the old post (but with up to date info) - I'm 31, OH is 35. We are TTC baby #1. Been TTC since Jan 2022, now on cycle 14. Haven't told anyone to avoid pressure.

Feel free to post any questions, thoughts, whinges, celebrations, basically anything here!

Going to try to be a bit more positive than I was toward the end of the last thread 😂

Love & baby dust to all. Wishing for BFPs for everyone this year 💖

Hi everyone, hope it’s okay to join!

Me and DH (both 29) are TTC #1. Have been trying since August, nothing so far. However, this month I’ve had an actual peak OPK (never usually get higher than 0.8/9) and DTD a lot so finger crossed 🤞🏼 good luck to you all 💕

Oh I'm so sorry you had to go through that too! But so glad you did feel a little compassion at that point though. As it really can feel awful and like your on your own.

My MC was in feb/March last year took me a few months to really get a grip of myself again if im honest then we were just DTD when we felt like it not been particularly careful but not trying either.

So I'd say this is the 3rd month of us properly trying again now.

AF was due today according to the flo app but my cycles can go from 27-31 days and today is 29th day.

I did do a test last night because we were going out and I didn't want to drink if it was a positive.
It came back as a BFN but unfortunately the Asda didn't have the early test ones it was just a cheap one that says to test a after your missed period.

So I still didn't drink because I've been feeling a little bit odd and my boobs are super soar which was my first sign last time. But I'm really trying not to symptom spot and I won't be testing again until Wednesday unless AF arrives obviously.

I've only been using the app which is what we used last time but I think if I don't get a BFP this month I'm going to try using the ovulation test strips to see how accurate the app is and go from there.

@rankin21 I hope AF hasn't arrived for you! Fingers and toes crossed for you.
My AF is supposed to arrive on Wed, so I may test it then as well if I don't give in before that.

I have been using the easy@home OPKs, I got pregnant (ended in MC) the first time using it in October last year, so they definitely work. I also use the Apple health app and Flo to track, so I am constantly switching between apps and confusing myself at times. 😁

Yolo23 · 16/01/2023 18:31

@Chanteuse thats fab news!! Keeing my fingers crossed for you. I only had a BFP on a positive digital test so it definitely helps… unfortunately mine was chemical but we’re a step further than what we was at least! X

Chanteuse · 16/01/2023 19:07

@Yolo23 I was just excited to see an actual “peak” - they do class it as a peak if it’s above 0.8 but this is undeniably a peak 😄 so feeling hopeful. Also earlier in my cycle than other times - CD13 as opposed to CD16/17. Peak was yesterday so DTD CD10, 11, 13 and 14 (today - hopefully!) so should be 1DPO Tomorrow. Sending baby dust to you!

Yolo23 · 16/01/2023 19:54

@Chanteuse any win no matter how big or small is a win! When the difference to a BFP to BFN is literally minuscule and so reliant on so many factors… you have to be happy when things go to plan 😅🥳 fab news, sounds hopeful 🤞 xx

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 16/01/2023 20:34

Hi Ladies! Hoping I can join! I'm 29 and DH is 29 and TTC #1. We conceived last year but it ended in a MMC at 8 weeks so on proper cycle 1 of trying since it. Feeling desperate as have been trying since July.

I use clear blue digital ovulation tests and conceive plus lube. I don't use any tests to confirm ovulation happened though, do people use these?

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 16/01/2023 20:35

Oh I'm on CD 2 btw!

Cyga · 16/01/2023 21:06

Hello all :) I'm very new to this kind of forum so still leaning all the acronyms!

I'm 32 and my OH is 33. He has a kid from his previous marriage and now we've been actively trying for our own (my first) as best we can around our shifts these last few months. Now that I have consciously decided to try and have no idea if I have fertility issues or not, I can feel myself going a little crazy with symptom spotting and getting my hopes up! I get pretty bad PMS and every PMS symptom has me wondering if its something else! This month is particularly bad and I'm overly emotional about it, waiting for AF to arrive in 3 days. How do you all stay grounded and not completely fixated every month?! 😅

Yolo23 · 16/01/2023 21:10

@ExcitedandNervousC1 oh bless you! My gosh you’ve been through it and all.

Im 30 and we’ve been trying since July too (although in totality I’ve tried for around 3 years). I had a chemical in November which was gutting.

I used the digital clear blue ovulation kit in the Nov and stand by the fact that it was the difference between me always having BFN and that time a BFP… it was so easy to use and you can buy the replacement inserts so really reasonable. If you use the flo app and test around when they expect you to ovulate, you’ll only end up using two to three inserts so a definite recommendation from me!

So reassuring to know that while you may not get a BFP… you’re DTD at the best possible chance x

Yolo23 · 16/01/2023 21:11

@Cyga we don’t 😅😂😂 we just try our best to stay as sane as possible in public and vent on here - atleast that’s what I do 🤣

Cyga · 16/01/2023 21:49

@Yolo23 Haha sounds like a good plan! I'll be doing the same, I think 😂

TinyDancer91 · 17/01/2023 01:18

Oh my gosh! I go offline for a weekend and miss out on all the newbies here! 😂

Welcome everyone. Hope we are all doing ok at the mo.

Update on us, OH is booked in to speak to the dr next Tuesday (earliest we could get an appointment due to him working nights!) I also have my 21 bloods (again) on Monday. Got my peak yesterday/today, depending on what day you class this as when I'm posting as it's just gone 1am... guess that's means I'm now in the TWW again. Hoping it goes quickly as I've got a busy couple of weeks ahead.

Love & baby dust to all 💕

Kayycatt · 17/01/2023 09:17

@Cyga I think from the outside, no one can really tell but on our own/on here, we go crazy with symptoms spotting down to every little details, like ohhh I didn't have this acne/spot last cycle, could this be the month? Grin

PeopleAreToads · 17/01/2023 11:25

So I'm out for this month. After what seemed to be implantation bleeding over the weekend and a faint positive yesterday, AF arrived this morning. Would make my luteal phase 3/4 days shorter than usual, and I've never had spotting before so seems like it was a chemical

Trying to see the positive that it looks like we can conceive, and onwards to the new cycle

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 17/01/2023 13:48

Thanks @Yolo23 for your reply! Yes I'm going to get replacement sticks for my tester this month as I used to keep buying new ones which is pointless!

On CD3 only but excited to Try again soon!

Mitcx · 17/01/2023 17:04

Hi,

This is my first post. TTC for first baby.
Approaching 35 in next few months. Been trying 14 months.

I’ve been referred to a fertility clinic but no appointment yet, GP was unable to give me any indication of wait time. Any one got any experience to share on their wait times?

Day 21 progesterone was low but GP said it was equivocal which means they can’t say either way if I did or didn’t ovulate.
I’ve tried three types of ovulation tests easy at home strips but struggled to tell really so switched to digital clear blue which I never tested positive for ovulation and another clear blue which tests for oestrogen and LH, I had 9 days of high fertility but no peak so I feel really confused?

Also read on the criteria LH should be tested on days 2-5 but all my bloods were taken on day 21, will this impact my referral at all?

Appreciate any advice and experience you can share.
Good Luck to everyone, I think people who aren’t going through it or have been can’t understand x

rankin21 · 17/01/2023 17:51

Well that's me out this month 🙃 AF arrived today 😭

I've bought some ovulation strips to try for the next cycle to see how accurate my app actually is...

Good luck to everyone else this month ❤️❤️

Alexis7890 · 17/01/2023 19:53

Hi @Mitcx i am actually going through fertility treatment at the moment. Timescales vary depending on where you are but for me I was referred early jan 2022 and first appointment was early February 2022 so not a long wait at all. I was then ready to start treatment by the end of may. They then do all of their required tests before coming up with the best options for you. It is usually a few ultrasounds, blood tests and an HSG x ray or hycosy scan for you and 2 semen analysis tests for your partner 3 months apart (that’s what they do here anyway) the blood results won’t affect your referral, the clinic does all their own tests anyway and will talk you through everything. Happy to help any way I can xx

Mitcx · 17/01/2023 20:11

Thank you, that seems pretty quick, fingers crossed it will be the same in my area.
I’ve got my ultrasound next week. I think once I’ve been seen by someone who can explain things a bit more I’ll feel better.
I hope all goes well with the treatment. I’ll probably have a million more questions. Hope you don’t mind and thank you for sharing your experience x

Alexis7890 · 17/01/2023 21:07

@Mitcx no problem, who is the ultrasound with? The GP? I’m in north Bristol trust if that helps at all. Thank you, I have done 4 cycles of letrozole but didn’t respond to it and now am about to start a second cycle of injections for ovulation induction which are working for me, there is a lot they can do. I have pcos and don’t ovulate naturally at all so didn’t have any natural cycles. Hopefully the fertility referral comes through quickly for you x

Mitcx · 18/01/2023 07:30

The ultrasound is at the local community hospital, referral was made through the GP. I rang yesterday to check the waiting times to find the GP hasn’t sent the referral yet as awaiting the ultrasound results to send with it, that’s booked a week today. It’s frustrating because I feel like I’ve had constant delays with my GP.
Thats good that you’ve got lots of options to try! I think when I have some idea with what I’m faced with it will be a bit more manageable.
Did it take long for you to get a diagnosis?
I have really regular periods but my bloods and ovulation strip tests indicate I’m not ovulating but haven’t got clear answers. X

Kayycatt · 18/01/2023 17:48

I think I can just see a very very faint line or I am seeing what I want to see. Only used the cheapie to test coz didn't want to 'waste' my FRER just yet. May use it in a couple of days...

Kofifi · 18/01/2023 20:25

Hi everyone. Really glad to find this community. Just started TTC (first child, i'm 31) and feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the acronyms and new information.
I was never on the pill so periods are same as they have always been, but i can't say I ever paid attention to all these different phases that everyone talks about.
I've got ovulation test strips (today was ovulation day! ) and going to start taking my temperature as well.
I occasionally have really long cycles (45-60 days) and maybe that will help me understand what's going on with my health in general.

How many DPO are you?

There's definitely something there... Fingers crossed for you!

Kayycatt · 19/01/2023 18:39

@RainyDaysByTheFire I was around 10DPO when I did the test. I got my positive today with easy@home test strip :)
