Hi All.

This is a continuation from my past thread, but no need to go read that one if you're new here!

Quick TD;LR from the old post (but with up to date info) - I'm 31, OH is 35. We are TTC baby #1. Been TTC since Jan 2022, now on cycle 14. Haven't told anyone to avoid pressure.

Feel free to post any questions, thoughts, whinges, celebrations, basically anything here!

Going to try to be a bit more positive than I was toward the end of the last thread 😂

Love & baby dust to all. Wishing for BFPs for everyone this year 💖

They saw the gestational sac and the yolk yesterday. No embryo but they said it was too early at 5w4d to see. However, I started bleeding an hour after that scan.

Had to eventually go to A&E for blood loss last night. The blood loss slowed after 7 hours and I’m back home now. My blood count is fine. There’s nothing they can do gynaecology wise at this point. They’re going to move my viability scan on 4th Dec to 27th Nov. But it will be an appointment to check I’ve cleared the tissue rather than to check how the embryo is growing. I’ve had a miscarriage unfortunately and just need to wait for the bleeding to stop.

Im leaving this thread for obvious reasons but I wish you all success and happiness.

TinyDancer91 · 21/11/2024 09:20

@Feliciacat I'm so sorry 😢 I know there's no words that can ease what you're feeling. Just know what we are here for you and all support you 💕

I understand that you need to take a break from this thread but if you are ever ready to come back, we'll be here for you

Sending you love and best wishes

@Feliciacat I'm so sorry.

LucyLoopyLu · 21/11/2024 12:07

@Feliciacat I'm so sorry. Wishing you all the very best. We'll still be here if you want to come back and vent x

Feliciacat · 21/11/2024 12:55

I think I was speaking from a place of devastation when I said I’d leave. I’m back on the thread now. Thank you for your kind words.

I do have two more frozen embryos so at least I don’t need to do ivf again yet. Or if I do, I know what it’s like now. Our second cycle is already paid for. It’s £2500 per transfer though 😬 We have to transfer both before we can move onto the next cycle. I’m such an expensive wife!

CatCaretaker · 21/11/2024 19:29

Completely understandable @Feliciacat if you wanted to take a break from the thread, but it is a very supportive place and I've always found it a cathartic place to open up.

Very sorry again for your loss, no wonder you're devastated.

Will you go for another transfer next month, or wait a bit?

Feliciacat · 22/11/2024 07:34

I think we will transfer again during my January period. I believe all you need to do is to track ovulation and then go for the transfer after that. I think frozen transfers are a bit more likely to work but I don’t know if that is because people get frozen embryos PGT-A tested. I’m not getting any of mine tested. Maybe it’s because of the embryo survives the thaw then it’s a strong embryo. I guess I’ll find out.

CatCaretaker · 22/11/2024 07:43

Fingers crossed for January @Feliciacat. In the meantime I hope you can grieve and start to recover physically and emotionally.

TinyDancer91 · 09/02/2025 22:48

Hi everyone!

How is everyone doing?

@Feliciacat how are you doing now? Did you go for a transfer last month?

Just thought I'd check in as we are now 39+1 and baby girl is measuring BIG (they estimated at 36 she was 7lb 7oz already... I was only 7lb 4oz born!) Due to her estimated size (95th centile), I have been booked in for induction on Tuesday 😬😥 and starting to get a bit anxious about it now! The irony of being put on aspirin for most of my pregnancy to reduce the risk of having a small baby 😂

We still haven't decided on a name either! HELP!! Throw some suggestions my way - we want something classic but not overused (i.e. hopefully there won't be 3 of them in the same class at school!). Hardest part is not wanting to give her the same name as any of the dancers I teach - Amelia (any variation of the spelling), Ava, Isla, Eva, etc all out as we have LOADS of them 😂

Sending love and baby dust to you all 💕

Hello @TinyDancer91 ive not posted here for a while. I did in fact have a little girl last year but I still like to see how everyone is getting on and have been very happy to keep hearing of your pregnancy! You are so close now! I did actually have an around 95th centile girly at 9lbs2. I didn’t have an induction so I can’t comment on that but I had a very uncomplicated birth so I hope that offers some light reassurance about big babies. She did measure big at one point during the pregnancy and it made me a bit worried too but then she didn’t at a follow up scan so I parked it. Sometimes I think you’re better off not knowing! Because the worry about it in anticipation is much worse than the reality in my experience. The scans aren’t always the most accurate anyway. Your body is made to birth your baby. You’ve absolutely got this!

Here’s some names that spring to mind (hopefully on the right track):
Thea
Rosa
Tabitha
Amelie
Margot
Maeve
Maya
Iris
India
Scarlett
Grace
Lottie
Cassie
Lily
Wren

We have a Bella but I know lots of people don’t like names that are shortenings. Isabella is pretty but very high in popularity. It’s so tough!

Wishing you luck! Xxx

Ditzydaisychain · 10/02/2025 02:10

Hey @TinyDancer91, how exciting. I have been thinking of you and that you would be due anytime now.
Try not to worry too much about size in the scans, as I don’t know anyone whose baby was as big as their scan said. I ended up having a c section because he was apparently over 10lbs and then he arrived and he was only in the 7lb region. You’ve got this and you will do amazing.

We didn’t have a name when he was born. For two indecisive people we really struggled naming a baby 🤣.
Not sure how classic some of these are, I loved so many girls names but found boys names hard.

Ada, Bea, Bonnie, Clara, Dahlia, Felicity, Harriet, Helena, Ismay, Lorena, Nancy, Penelope, Sacha, Tilly, Violet, Winnie

Wishing you the best of luck. Let us know how you get on 💕💕

Feliciacat · 10/02/2025 07:24

Hi @TinyDancer91! Do you mean Tuesday as in the 11th Feb (tomorrow)? That’s really exciting. I think the hardest thing about birth is that you have no idea how it will go on the day but my friend had an induction and it went really well and she had a very uncomplicated and relatively not painful birth. Also, as others have said, babies are rarely as big as the scan.

I can only think of girl names, here are some suggestions:

Agatha
Aurora
Avery
Beatrice
Caroline
Eleanor
Emily
Everly
Daisy
Felicity
Lucy
Madeleine
Olivia
Ruby
Violet
Zara

Haha no problem if you don’t like those but I believe they’re not too common but also not so ‘unique’ that they’re silly. I like the names from Livelaughloathe and Ditzydaisychain too.

Congratulations on little Bella @Livlaughloathe! How old is she now?

Also congratulations to @Ditzydaisychain on her little boy! I think I’d already said congratulations but I’ll say it again :)

As for me, I had to wait a full cycle before I could have a transfer just to check everything had gone back to normal. So my transfer is this Wednesday (12th). I feel mostly not that hopeful after how last time went! It would be nice if it did work though!

CatCaretaker · 10/02/2025 12:39

@Feliciacat good luck on Wednesday! Let us know how it goes

LucyLoopyLu · 10/02/2025 19:11

@TinyDancer91 ooh how exciting, you're nearly there now!

My little girl was born on 30th Dec. We went in for induction on 27th, everything went well until there was a lot of meconium in my waters when they were broken. We laboured for about 4 hours with continuous monitoring and then her heart rate started dropping with contractions. They checked me and my cervix was still only 2-3cm (no progress in 4 hours) so we went down for an emergency section.

Everything went well with that and recovery has been good. We've had a lot of problems with feeding (lots of tears for me!) but she's growing and gaining weight now as we're combi feeding by necessity.

The growth scan I had at 39 weeks estimated she would be 7lb11 and over a week later when she was born she was only 6lb8!

Hope everything goes well for you. Would be lovely to hear your update

KTak · 20/02/2025 14:05

@TinyDancer91 How did it all go??

CatCaretaker · 20/02/2025 14:48

@Feliciacat how did the transfer go?

Feliciacat · 20/02/2025 15:34

Congratulations on your little girl @LucyLoopyLu. I’m really looking forward to hearing your update @TinyDancer91; I hope it all went well! How surreal it must be to finally have a child after all this waiting.

My transfer was on 12th and it went well thanks @CatCaretaker. I tested positive 5dp5dt (17th) and it got darker on 7dp5dt (19th) OTD on Monday. Fingers crossed!

Feliciacat · 20/02/2025 15:44

Also, huge congratulations on your baby @CatCaretaker!

CatCaretaker · 20/02/2025 17:11

@Feliciacat that's brilliant! I don't know how you have the self restraint not to test every day!

TinyDancer91 · 20/02/2025 17:18

@Feliciacat that sounds promising! Keeping everything crossed for you!

So, we all know that my journey hasn't exactly been straight forward 😂 and why would this step be any different! I went in on 11th at about 2pm after the hospital called to say they finally had a bed for me. Arrived and was taken to labour ward and the other ward upstairs was actually full (where I was supposed to be). Had obs done, all fine, apparently cervix was tilted back so needed to come forward but baby's head was right there so probably wouldn't have been much longer if we'd have waited anyway. 2:30pm was given 1ml of the gel to get thing started. All fine (or so we thought!). A few hours later I'm told I must be super sensitive to the gel as it was making me have 7 contractions every 10 mins and they only wanted me to have 4 max. They weren't strong or painful at this stage either, just lots very close together. 11:30pm I was given an injection to slow everything down again... 😂

Admitted to the ward upstairs at 3am (which meant OH had to go home at 3am) and told they were aiming to take me back down at 6am to break my waters. OH came back at 8am which is the earliest he was allowed in, I managed to get 1 hour of sleep that night...

Anyway, 12th, sat in the ward waiting to go back down to labour suite, 3pm they finally have space for me down in labour suite again! So back down we go, 3 attempts to break my waters as they couldn't get a pocket big enough to do it due to where baby's head was! That set everything off at 100mph! Contracts ramped right up to the point I couldn't move while having one, I was in tears! Had paracetamol, did nothing. Tried gas & air, hated it! Opted for epidural, which was fitted very quickly afterwards (thankfully anaesthetist was free to do it). Immediately felt better, I could still feel my whole body but it took the pain away. Epidural was fitted at approx 7:30pm, drip fitted to help with contractions started at 8:30pm. I was pushing by about 3am.

They had a dr ready to use the ventouse and another to do an episiotomy, didn't need either in the end and she arrived before they had chance 😂

Baby girl was born at 3:55am on 13th Feb, weighing 7lb 8oz and is perfectly healthy. We were back home by 1:30pm that day!

So, here she is, baby Charlotte Amelia 🥰 we are so grateful and blessed to have her finally in our arms!

I'm sure I've probably left out some details that you may want, so if I have, please ask! Nothing is off limits 😊

Love to all!

Alexis7890 · 20/02/2025 21:00

Congratulations @TinyDancer91 i hope you’re recovering well and settling into your mummy life enjoying the newborn bubble!

Ditzydaisychain · 22/02/2025 04:59

@TinyDancer91 congratulations! What a beautiful baby and a lovely name. I kept thinking ot you and wondering if you’d have a valentines baby. It sounds like you will have quite the birth story to tell Charlotte when she’s older.

@Feliciacat thank you for your well wishes although I’m sure you wished us well already💕. Glad to hear your transfer went well. I will be thinking of you next week.

@LucyLoopyLuI had meconium in the water and baby had respiratory issues when he was born. Was all very stressful so I hope you’re feeling okay. We had so many tears over feeding and he lost over 10% of his birth weight in the first week. I wish people warned you that it was harder work. All the classes just go on about what a lovely experience it is and how baby will just know what to do. Absolute rubbish for me and it’s hard work getting it established. Glad everything is now going well for you. I told myself I would just breastfeed him for a month so at least he’d had some breast milk and here I am now doing a 4am breastfeed almost 8 months later 😂.

Feliciacat · 17/03/2025 13:50

I had my heartbeat scan today (I’m 7w3d) and there’s a heartbeat, the growth is on track and it’s in the right location! There’s only one too (which is better for safety). I’m so happy and relieved that I’m finally pregnant!

I have loved being part of this thread and it’s been lovely to see people’s stories. Thank you for being there through my journey xxx
