Hi ladies

I have a short LP, about 9-10 days. Anyone else in the same boat? Have you managed to get pregnant with a short LP? Any advice would be very welcome!

Aw @DesertSnow sorry you’re having a rough time! Hope the sickness stops soon.

This is only really cycle 2 of tracking (altho I’ve always kept note of cycle lengths and other symptoms), and in cycle 1 I didn’t manage to catch my lh peak (blaming crap boots tests) so no idea when I’d normally ovulate! CD17 seems late but I’ve no idea if that is normal for me or not…

DesertSnow · 30/12/2022 16:36

@Sierra26 From my reading and from this thread, I would say that ladies with a short LP also seem to ovulate quite late in their cycle. My average was CD20-22. My successfull cycle it was CD18. So definitely keep tracking and see if you can identify a pattern - but it can be hard to pin down!

Happy new year everyone!

Something interesting has happened...I've hit my peak 2 days earlier than expected. I was due to ovulate on Thursday but I'm taking today as O day. It's kind of a shame because when I got a positive OPK last night DH was already asleep, and he's been ill so we haven't BD during my fertile period yet (we were banking on it being from 1st - 6th).

Anyway, I'm hoping my period is delayed too, so my LP gets extended.

Here is what I'm taking at the moment (I'm throwing the kitchen sink at this, I know)

Ashwaganda
Evening primrose oil
Folic acid
Iron
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
Zinc

That's great to hear o has moved forward. Hoping for a nice long LP for you! Hope your DH is well enough to sneak in a little last min BD!

Happy new year everyone. Hope this year brings everyone a happy and healthy baby. 💕

Hi @JuniperandI I know you started this thread a few weeks ago but I also had a short luteal phase - About 10 days.

I took supplements from it starts with the egg for egg quality but I think vitamin E and C can help and they are part of the plan I was doing from the book. I did try evening primrose for CM but I didn't conceive the months I tried that.

I also tried accupuncture some months and reflexology others. But my LF did increase and I got my BFP a few days ago. I did reflexology just before I ovulated and a week after. I do think reflexology helps me as I also conceived a while back from a month I did that. Unfortunately that ended in a MMC.

Fertility clinics can prescribe progesterone. I was offered that but I wanted to try without first.

Good luck x

JuniperandI · 02/01/2023 11:18

@LittleDoveLove wow, congratulations!
What were you taking the months before you conceived?

@EmmRach I know, we love a bit of good news!

@LittleDoveLove congratulations!! Hope you have a healthy & happy pregnancy. How long have you been trying?

LittleDoveLove · 02/01/2023 20:36

@JuniperandI I was following intermediate plan from 'it starts with the egg'. So Super unqionol COQ10, vitamin c and e, multi vit. There are different plans for different situations.

@EmmRach quite a while. Started March 2021 and had a chemical in the June. Had a break then until Jan 2022 due to various reasons.
I conceived early April 2022 but had MMC end of May 2022.
Been trying since and was due to begin IVF to begin when I got my period. I took the test thinking I would go out for a drink before it all started and it was a BFP. I'm just hoping I don't have another MC x

LittleDoveLove · 02/01/2023 20:38

Thank you both, I think the supplements and the reflexology helped. The reflexology just helped me relax so much I was worried about implantation with my LF and I think stress can effect things . Wishing you lots of luck x

crabette · 03/01/2023 00:34

I had a short luteal and started taking B Complex vitamins daily after ovulation (I was ovulating around CD20, started taking them CD21). Conceived that month, and currently up cuddling my 1yo little one. Good luck! ♥️

EmmRach · 05/01/2023 13:39

Hello everyone! Hope you’re doing good.
I had my 12 Week scan today. Was dated at 12+6 (3 days ahead of what I expected with my ovulation being late! So that was a nice surprise!) all looked good. Just waiting a couple of weeks for the blood test part to come back and then we will be announcing to the world. Which feels very scary!!! X

Short luteal phase?
DesertSnow · 05/01/2023 17:33

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with MN (suffering quite badly with symptoms) but I just saw this pop up - how lovely @EmmRach, congratulations! Do you have your estimated due date now?

Sierra26 · 05/01/2023 17:37

@EmmRach amazing, congratulations! Hope all goes well with the blood results :)

EmmRach · 06/01/2023 08:24

Thanks team :)

@DesertSnow yep - 14th July 2023 although they hardly ever come when they are supposed to from what I understand. Haha.

Sorry to hear you're suffering. Hope you manage find some respite soon. 11 and a half ish weeks for you? Few more weeks and it might start to feel a bit easier. Crossing my fingers for you xx

Sierra26 · 06/01/2023 12:40

Two days late over here (CD30) but have my usual pre AF spotting and assume I might be having a longer cycle given late ovulation. Plus DH would have needed superhuman sperm to survive 6 days for it to be anything else 😂

Roll on next cycle!

DesertSnow · 07/01/2023 12:20

@EmmRach Oh how exciting! My EDD currently is 30th July, so just a couple of weeks behind. I'm 11 weeks today, so hoping the morning sickness eases soon. It's terribly but I haven't started to feel excited yet as I just feel so constantly rotten. But I know how lucky I am. 12 week scan in 9 days so hoping all is ok in there. Hope your bloods all come back fine. Do you have any big plans for announcing it?

@Sierra26 Any sign of AF?

Sierra26 · 07/01/2023 13:27

@DesertSnow she arrived in a dramatic fashion this morning 😂😂

hope your sickness eases soon. How exciting to be on the countdown to 12 weeks!

EmmRach · 08/01/2023 14:15

@Sierra26 Eugh sorry AF came, but also yay to another cycle starting. Hope this is the one for you!!!

@DesertSnow no, no major plans. I want to try tell as many people as I can in person. Might take a while to get round everyone!! Just waiting for this letter telling me everything is good and then I'll start. Eeek!

How is everyone else getting on? Any TWWs for us to send good vibes for??

DesertSnow · 08/01/2023 19:09

@Sierra26 Thank you, me too! Sorry AF arrived, but the good news is you're one cycle closer to your baby :)

@EmmRach I think they have to contact you within 3 days if you're high risk, right? So fingers crossed for you! Ah it will be so lovely for you to share your news, and yes telling in person will be lovely. Enjoy!

JuniperandI · 12/01/2023 07:36

Morning.

So I'd successfully ovulated early this cycle (on day 13) but AF has just arrived, making this a 22 day cycle. This is exhausting, I'm not sure what to do now.

Sierra26 · 12/01/2023 09:01

@JuniperandI sorry to hear that :( especially when you’ve been so diligent with the vitamins and supplements. Have you been offered progesterone tests through your doc yet, to see if it’s high enough after ovulation? Have you always had short cycles or is that something that’s changed?

Hope AF isn’t too mean to you and you can get reset for a new cycle. xxx

I’m on CD6, should have no interruptions this month so going to tell DH he needs to gear up for lots of scheduled BD next week. Also got my private appt with gynae a week today to discuss my LP spotting. I’ll share any interesting info I get!

xxx

Jendy87 · 12/01/2023 09:02

Hey all, I posted at the start of this thread.
I have been keeping an eye on how everyone is getting on.
I haven’t posted again as I found out my first cycle on Letrozole, ovitrelle and progesterone was successful and we fell pregnant.
Given our two losses and my anxiety I felt that I didn’t want to announce anything to anyone until after our official scan.
Fortunately our booking scan went well. The anxiety is still there everyday and it’s something I’m working on.
I wanted to share as I really recommend a private consultation.
£250 plus medication and follow up costs but in my mind so worth it.
even just to get an idea of options to correct luteal phase defect and late ovulation. Please look back for my plan and costings as I mentioned at the beginning of this thread.
wishing everyone all the best on their journeys.

JuniperandI · 12/01/2023 09:21

@Sierra26 thanks. I've got a progesterone test at the end of the month so I'll know more then.

@Jendy87 thanks for pointing that out and congratulations! I'm going to look into my options after my next blood test.

EmmRach · 12/01/2023 16:08

@JuniperandI I'm so sorry lovely. 😔
But you need to steel yourself and keep going. There is a baby in your future one way or another, so you've gotta keep doing. What if this is your month!!
Keep the faulty lovely. And we're all here and rooting for you xx

@Sierra26 sounds like you've got a good crack at this cycle!! All the best!! Let us know how you are getting on. Also what the doc says! That will be interesting!

@Jendy87 wahoo! That's lovely news congrats!! Hope your advice helps people struggling.

I'm still doing well. 14 weeks today can you believe it! Still awaiting my NT screening result. No phone call yet. So no news is good news in this scenario. Anxiously awaiting the letter to arrive so I feel OK to announce!!

EmmRach · 12/01/2023 16:09

@JuniperandI sorry!! So many typos!!

You gotta keep GOING
And keep the FAITH
