Hi ladies

I have a short LP, about 9-10 days. Anyone else in the same boat? Have you managed to get pregnant with a short LP? Any advice would be very welcome!

@Sierra26 i think vitamin b6 did help lengthen my cycle and is much less potent and risky than AC/vitex, so I’d stick to that :) and consult a Dr!

Sierra26 · 21/12/2022 12:25

@Carlotta27 ha will do! Sorry you had to be our guinea pig :( hope DH isn’t being too hard on you! Xx

BCxx · 21/12/2022 12:26

@Carlotta27 I think that’s why I didn’t take it in the end up but had it in my drawer. I found maca root really good for bringing ovulation forward and I took it both cycles before conceiving. I don’t know if you’ll be trying to avoid taking anything else now but it could potentially save the situation and help you ovulate 🤞🏼

Carlotta27 · 21/12/2022 12:27

@Sierra26 ha I guess that’s the silver lining - if I’m a Guinea pig I deter others from making the mistake!

DH is right that I was silly to take matters into my own hands - I was so desperate to do anything for a longer LP. It’s nice to have this forum with women with a more sympathetic approach.

BCxx · 21/12/2022 12:27

Just to add if anyone does take maca root i stopped taking it on ovulation as I read somewhere you shouldn’t take it in the LP, no idea if there’s any truth to that but it worked for me

BCxx · 21/12/2022 12:32

@DesertSnow are you being full on sick now? I was lucky last time I really was only sick in the morning so could be quite confident the rest of the day I wouldn’t be. I’ve got a night out on Friday and have managed to wangle driving, I’m not sure if it’s maybe a bit obvious but I’m quite glad I got my excuses in on the group chat so it’s not up for debate whether I have a drink or not when I get there. I was even looking at the festive menu for dinner and there’s red wine in the thing I was going to have 🙈 Feel like I just want to hide til the first week in feb so I’m not found out, you just feel like it’s written all over your face don’t you!

Vyvyan13 · 21/12/2022 14:28

Hi @Sierra26

Thank you for being so inviting.

I hope you get answers to your questions soon. It is such a journey for everyone…

It was really interesting and a little frightening with the Ureaplasma infection as I never had any symptoms of anything going on. It wasn’t until I did a microbiome test it became apparent it was there. The lady who me and my husband have been working with explained that this can effect implantation. I have now been treated with antibiotics and am hoping it has now cleared up. I believe it can be quite resistant in some cases. My husband was also tested and he luckily didn’t have it.

DesertSnow · 21/12/2022 17:07

@Carlotta27 Sorry to hear about the vitex experiment. I was getting to the point of thinking I should just try it, but then saw that they recommend you don't if you're ovulating regularly. Fingers crossed you ovulate soon.

@BCxx I'm lucky in that I've not actually been sick once yet, but the constant nausea, food aversions and overwhelming fatigue is getting the better of me. I know, I feel it's written all over my face too! We're telling some family on Saturday, but will also be seeing them on Friday so I hope they don't guess. Much nicer to share the news than have it exposed I think!

Carlotta27 · 21/12/2022 17:15

thanks @DesertSnow yes really hoping I ovulate at some point. There are horror story reviews of women whose cycles are messed up for months after. It’s really tough right now as I want certainty and there isn’t any. I’m so angry at myself and trying to resist googling any more x

BCxx · 21/12/2022 18:18

@DesertSnow i think because you know you kind of assume other people can tell but even if someone had a slight suspicion, until you tell them no one actually does know. That will be good to tell some people though! So far it’s only my family that know, in-laws we’re going to leave until 12 weeks this time and I actually might just see how long I can wait after that before I have to tell everyone else 😂

Sierra26 · 21/12/2022 23:51

@Carlotta27 i think it’s the long periods of waiting (eg parts of cycle like TWW or waiting to see if something has an impact) which make taking matters in to our own hands seem so inviting. The day I decided to start on the vitamins I HAD to buy them that day, non negotiable. And when I realised I might have a luteal issue I HAD to start referral process that day, it was like I got in to a panic. And the repetitive testing we all do 😂

@Vyvyan13 thanks for the info. I hope the antibiotics clear it up for you!

@BCxx off to google macca root

Sierra26 · 21/12/2022 23:52

Also while I’m here does anyone find themselves getting mixed up between cycle days and actual dates? I almost told someone it was CD15 when they asked me the date earlier 😂

EmmRach · 22/12/2022 18:04

Had a private scan tonight. Everything looked great. Wriggly little baby and good heartbeat. Measuring 10w3d which is exactly as per my tracked ovulation. So I’m very pleased about that.
At one point it literally jumped up to the top of its little home! So amazing to watch! 🥰
10weeks is is about where the placenta takes over. So I think I can stop worrying about dodgy womb lining now (and probably promptly start worrying about something else 🤣)

LS888 · 22/12/2022 18:34

Congratulations @EmmRach so lovely to see! ❤️

JuniperandI · 22/12/2022 19:12

@EmmRach that's amazing! I'm so pleased for you ❤

@EmmRach wow that’s amazing, you must be so thrilled! Thanks for sharing 😍

Sierra26 · 23/12/2022 00:19

Guys… am I peaking?! 😂 But just with very weak LH levels? The lines all look the same to me but the app thinks they’re different. Had EWCM today and right sided dull/stabby/hollow pains today and yesterday (which I’ve never noticed before but I think I’m just paying more attention now).

yes I’ve taken FOUR easy@homes today 😂 I’m soo desperate to catch my peak this month so that I know what to look for next time.

i did start on CD8 but only started taking photos on 12

CBAD still flashing its mocking smiley at me for the 7th day 🙄

Short luteal phase?
DesertSnow · 23/12/2022 16:18

@Carlotta27 don't beat yourself up - ttc is so hard and drives us to some crazy things, and you were trying to make the right decision for your family.

@BCxx I'm laying the groundwork with recovering from flu 😁Spending tonight with DH's family who don't know. Let's see if anyone buys it! I've told DH to offer me prosecco and I'll say I don't want to risk it with still feeling flu-ey.

@EmmRach what a lovely scan! Huge congratulations.

@Sierra26 Sorry I'm no good at reading those things! Hopefully someone else will be able to advise.

Carlotta27 · 23/12/2022 19:19

@DesertSnow thanks for that, so true I was separate for a fix! I’m just praying my cycle isn’t messed up for months on end now and that a Dr can help fix it …

glad you are doing well and I’ve heard so many people get that awful cold / flu that’s going around

hope everyone is keeping healthy and warm! X

LS888 · 23/12/2022 20:47

@Sierra26 keep testing and you will catch it! I thought I would never get a peak but I had a very sudden rise and then back down again. All read as low until the test before the peak test. Good luck!

Short luteal phase?
LS888 · 23/12/2022 20:48

@Sierra26 forgot to say I also got pregnant from the cycle! So even though my peak was a lot lower than others I had seen it must have been enough!

Sierra26 · 23/12/2022 22:04

Thanks for sharing that @LS888, what a success story! To the naked eye my test lines today are now almost the same as the control line, despite the app only saying 0.8, but I’m taking that as my peak. Cus I also got my static smiley this morning! Honestly so chuffed you’d think I’d got a bfp. And my ovulation pains are actually so obvious it blows my mind I’d not noticed them before. Probs thought it was wind 😂

Shame DH is 600 miles away 😭honestly so frustrated! But still glad I’ve caught it 😆 roll on next cycle

LS888 · 24/12/2022 07:55

@Sierra26 ahh it’s frustrating that the timing is out this month for you. Hopefully next month and now you will roughly know when it’s going to happen too!

Sierra26 · 30/12/2022 10:40

Hi all, hope you had lovely Christmases!

Does anyone have any updates to share?

Im CD24 tomorrow which is when my spotting started last month… hoping it starts closer to AF this month particularly as I know I didn’t ovulate until CD17. I don’t mean to wish time away but I want to fast forward to next month’s FW!

xx

DesertSnow · 30/12/2022 15:06

Fingers crossed the spotting holds off for you @Sierra26. I know what you mean about wishing time away, ttc means you just live in blocks of time you're wishing away, doesn't it? Is CD17 normal for your ovulation? (Sorry, you may have said before).

No real update from me... 9+6 today and really feeling the symptoms. Spent the early hours of Christmas Day throwing up.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas!
