Hi ladies

I have a short LP, about 9-10 days. Anyone else in the same boat? Have you managed to get pregnant with a short LP? Any advice would be very welcome!

@JuniperandI that's confusing! Do you have an FRER you could do? Fingers crossed you're not out.

TulipVictory · 24/11/2022 10:36

Hello, so last month I had a chemical pregnancy. I ovulated a bit late and then had some pink spotting not long before my period was due. Got a faint positive the day my period was due then four days later full blown heavy bleeding (I'm never normally late).

Anyway, I tracked this cycle and I ovulated CD 17-18, it's now CD27 and I'd had no signs until just now where I kept wiping some pink, some brown, a bit more pink and then no more. Today would be about 9DPO. If this is implantation again then is it too late for the little bean to stick and is this why I had the chemical last time? Just to add my cycles are never any longer than 28 days 😬

DesertSnow · 24/11/2022 11:31

@TulipVictory sorry to hear about your chemical. I'm worried that is what's happening to me. 9DPO is the most common day for implantation and most successful pregnancies (not all) they think implant between 8DPO and 10DPO, so if this is implantation you've got a good chance I'd say 👍🤞 Implantation for me was 8DPO.

BCxx · 24/11/2022 12:54

@TulipVictory @DesertSnow I didn’t know about the late implantation thing being a higher risk of miscarriage at the time, have since read about it but I didn’t get a positive til 12dpo last time, no hint of a line at 11dpo and all was fine! Would have scared me if I’d known that at the time though 🙈

DesertSnow · 24/11/2022 13:22

I think I read that you won't even see a faint line until 2 days post-implantation, so maybe implantation happened for you at 10DPO last time @BCxx, which is in the normal range. It is just another thing to worry about though, isn't it! Especially for those of us with short LPs!

TulipVictory · 24/11/2022 13:46

@BCxx I've just wiped some more pink so I'm wondering whether I'm actually just going to start AF 😩

TulipVictory · 24/11/2022 13:47

@DesertSnow as I'm on due AF by Saturday I'm just worried that if I did implant today then my body won't have enough time to recognise the pregnancy before shedding my uterus lining/AF

DesertSnow · 24/11/2022 14:06

@TulipVictory easier said than done I know, but try not to worry. I think your hormones turn things round pretty quickly. My LP is usually 7/8 days so AF turns up 8DPO/9DPO. This cycle I felt like AF was coming all day on 8DPO, but turns out that is when I implanted. So my body must also have been gearing up to shed, but understood not to. I know it's so hard not to worry though.

LS888 · 24/11/2022 20:08

Just tested again and looks a bit clearer. I have ordered a frer and have a digital one too. How soon is too early to check on a digital? Was hoping to do that at the weekend. I have a smear test booked for Monday. I’m guessing I can’t have one if I am (🤞🏻) pregnant?

Short luteal phase?
JuniperandI · 24/11/2022 20:08

I'm out this month ladies. AF is here!
However, my LP extended one day so I think that's a cause for celebration! Here's what I took last cycle -
500mg ashwaganda
500mg vitamin c
1000mg evening primrose oil (up until ovulation)

As well as half an aspirin up until AF shows but that's standard for me.
I also switched from Pregnacare to the Seven Seas pre-conception vitamins but I don't know if that helped anything!
I also had a lot milder PMS symptoms and only really noticed anything yesterday evening and today (the last 2 cycles I've had 5 or 6 days of bad symptoms). That's also worth celebrating!

Good luck in November to the rest of you ❤

Sorry @JuniperandI I must have posted at the same time as you. Sorry to hear that AF has arrived 😞

DesertSnow · 24/11/2022 20:20

Oh that's very exciting @LS888! Afraid I don't know anything about digitals but yes you won't be able to have your smear if you're pregnant.

@JuniperandI really sorry AF showed up, but that's GREAT news on two counts - an extra day is wonderful! How long was your LP overall? And also hooray for less PMS symptoms! I guess it's hard to tell exactly what helped but all really positive steps. Hope you're doing ok. Are you thinking of adding anything new into the mix next cycle or repeating the same again?

BCxx · 24/11/2022 20:21

Aww gutted for you @JuniperandI but yes that is a cause for celebration! I’ve stopped pregnacare this month too, I’m just taking my handful of vitamins, ashwagandha as well as folic acid. How many days did you get then? At least this month you have Christmas as a distraction and might even get a bfp before Christmas still!

BCxx · 24/11/2022 20:23

@LS888 oh that looks promising!! No I’ve just managed to book my smear for next week but held off in case I was pregnant last cycle. Not sure what they’ll do if I get the results back and I’m pregnant though if anything needed done! Probably sensible not to try but here I am 🙈 you’ll be able to get it 3 months after the baby (eek)!

BCxx · 24/11/2022 20:24

@TulipVictory aw no 🤦🏼‍♀️ Did it get any heavier?

BCxx · 24/11/2022 20:27

CD 10 and this month the only one thing I’d decided we could improve was to actually try more! He’s came in from work this afternoon , gone into our toddlers room while he’s sleeping, turned on the big light (wtf? 😳) then came through and gone I had no idea you were in. I was so annoyed after just getting him down, I said what a stupid thing that was to do. Also even if he didn’t know we were in, there was literally nothing in his room he’d need so why go in and switch the light on for the sake of it?! 🙈 So now he’s in a huff with me and ate dinner in silence because I said it was a stupid thing to do! Think I can rule tonight out then 🙄🙄😂

JuniperandI · 24/11/2022 20:29

@DesertSnow @BCxx my LP was 10 days this cycle & it was 9 in October 😁
I'm happy with my supplements and vitamins for now.
I've told DH I'm taking December off from tracking & testing & timed DTD. If I get pregnant before Christmas then great, if not then that's fine. I'm already looking forward to lots of evenings in the pub and glasses of wine on the sofa without worrying about ovulation etc. Infact I'm sipping a glass as we speak - cheers! 🍷

@LS888 please don't be sorry! I'm thrilled for you 😊

DesertSnow · 24/11/2022 20:34

@JuniperandI ah 10 days is a significantly different LP to one under 10 days. Hurrah! I think you're wise not to add in anything new - this combo helped you get an extra day so keep on it. So pleased you're feeling ok about it. Good idea about relaxing and enjoying December. And you know what they say about how relaxing can really help (I reckon it did for me).

@BCxx Men! How annoying! I definitely had an argument in bed with my OH a couple of cycles ago when we were meant to DTD... we still did it but it felt a bit odd. Strict ttc schedules aren't great for that kind of thing! Hope you're ok and just miffed rather than sad xx

JuniperandI · 24/11/2022 20:38

@DesertSnow agreed! You know I never knew how unsexy timed DTD was before we started trying! We both thought yeaah great, it'll be amazing but jeeze it can feel downright inconvenient sometimes!

BCxx · 24/11/2022 21:19

@DesertSnow @JuniperandI totally 🙈 I try not to even tell him when the really important days are or I feel like it would be pressure! But I know and I usually tell him after ‘it’s today, that was it’ 😂

LS888 · 24/11/2022 21:19

Thanks ladies 🥰 Hoping it’s not an evap line but I set a timer for 5 mins with this one and it was within the time limit. Might try the digital at the weekend.

BCxx · 24/11/2022 21:21

@JuniperandI 10 days is good going! I think my max is still 8. Yeah that sounds good, enjoy 😊 the positive of having short cycles is you get more chances so you can rule one out and still get another chance relatively soon 😂

TulipVictory · 24/11/2022 21:34

@BCxx no I had a streak of red on another wipe but that's it so far.

BCxx · 24/11/2022 22:58

@TulipVictory fingers crossed that’s it then 🤞🏼

EmmRach · 24/11/2022 23:25

Hi ladies!!

I saw a heartbeat!! I was only 6+1. It was teeny tiny. About 5mm the ultrasound tech said. But it was there and it was alive. I'm so chuffed. Now to keep this little thing alive!

@DesertSnow I think those look like brilliant progression lines definitely getting darker !!

@LS888 that test is 100% positive to me!! 🤩 fingers crossed it's a sticky one!!

Aghhh booo @JuniperandI - but good for you for finding the positives and I definitely agree those are causes for celebration!!

@BCxx aghhh if only we could do it without the male input hey?! 🤣😅 it's so frustrating having to mix something so practical with something so unpractical if you know what I mean!!

@TulipVictory Eugh.. hopefully that's it?!? It's so confusing isn't it!! I had implantation bleeding from 11 DPO to 13 DPO. And my LPs were around 9 days!! So figure that one out?!!! And it's stuck around so far!
